Gauge Cluster UPGRADE for my OBS 2 DOOR TAHOE!

- This was my first time diving into the interior and my first time working on an instrument cluster as well. I'm really happy with the result as its a big upgrade for a part that there weren't really many options for. It has a really nice glow now and definitely helps the driving experience!

I got one from a 1999 Cadillac Escalade that's registered 120 mph and put on my 96 Silverado just the sticker but like you said the needles are out of whack and I didn't fix them but I'm glad I know how to do it now thank you bro

Not really. But to each his own.... Personally, if I was looking to buy a truck and it had this dash in it, I would walk away, this dash screams poor decisions and poor taste, making me wonder what else you may have done/not done to the truck. But again, that my opinion, do as you please with your truck so long as it doesnt affect me.

I have a 95, would the application be the same, or are the warning lights different?
Did the needles align back to normal and everything reading back properly after removing and installing back?
Can I see the full wiring of the video? I got the fuse cap like you did and grounded it but still nothing? I’m not sure why there is 4 plugs for the actual cluster part? Thanks

well i am just seeing you video good job. i have a 96 yukon which is the same as the tahos trying to get those same parts u used to do ur dash cluster. but it seems like they are out of stock and help would begood on trying to get mine fixed up like urs and what u doing with those old wheels u had on there
So I did what you did and got the fuse cap and hooked it into the fuse. And then hooked my ground up, but still nothing. Why is there 4 plugs on the wire that connects into the cluster?
Hello, I have a 1996 gmc yukon and since I have bought it the speedometer never shows the right speed. By you having the same year did you ever get the problem as well an if so did you fix it at all

Hey! I just got introduced to your channel a few days ago, I love these videos! I’m a big car fan! I don’t yet have my license, but when I do, I’m going to get my mother’s Fusion. I want to do some stuff with the look, but it’s hard because it’s a weird colour, it’s the one called “guard” that looks green and grey and black at different lighting levels. Do you think that things like a black grill or splitter would look good with that colour?

Where do you put the leds in on the back of the cluster ? Where it says illumination ?? Also the overlay isn’t that bright like yours and you don’t go over which of the 3 connectors to use

The one downside to this is how dim the needles appear to be. Do you have any night time pics or videos of this?

Looks pretty good so you can’t dim all the way dark?
Not necessarily, with the way they’re set up they don’t have an on/off switch, just a blue and green switch. You could definitely rig it up to have an on/off feature through some wire dissecting but as for how it’s made out of the box it’s just adjusting the brightness to a very dim.

They are out of stock on those and i tried contacting the seller. Got an auto reply they are out of the office. Any other companies that make an overlay for the obs?
Gauges probably automatically come on because you possibly tapped into a constant fuse?? Nice upgrade overall. Inspiring me to rip into my OBS
It’s a lot easier than I thought initially for sure! And I was questioning that initially but if it were constant then even with the vehicle off the gauges would be on. It’s just the way it functions is what I learned, there’s no specific on/off switch, just blue to green and the dial to adjust brightness so because of that it needs to turn on with the vehicle 👍🏼
@@DitoCardona Tie the power into the Parking light power from your headlight switch. Then they wont be powered until you switch on your parking lights.

When he took the glass off of the gauges, I would've changed the miles and sold it to someone.
If only they made one with the km/h on top big numbers would be sold on it
I dont like it.. I dont have to, its not mine. Much prefer the old look. Just remember, bright dash lights causes constriction of the pupil which in turn lets in less light from the roadway so you can no longer see things at a distance... you should always run your dash lights as low as possible that still allows you to see the gauges.
