It galls me to hear people dismiss her service because she was "privileged." If we had to live that life, we'd all of us crack up in a month. Look at her two days before her death, appointing a new PM. I saw the back of my mom's hands before she died just a week and a half ago. They looked the same as Elizabeth's -- and this woman was up and dressed and working, just two days before her death. That's not privilege, that's commitment and devotion, and it's to be admired. Don't forget this was a job she couldn't quit. She had to do it no matter what she may have wanted to do with her life in her heart of hearts. And she did a brilliant job. That's incredibly admirable, no matter your stance on the monarchy.
Exactly. I don't understand people that are glad that she's passed, regardless of where you are in the world. She did a wonderful job throughout her 70 years as Queen, and does not deserve the horrible things being said about her and and her family.
@J Cortese, thank you for your thoughtful comment. I know that I wouldn't have the energy or determination to do a fraction of what QEII did and I am much, much younger than she was. Being in service to people takes energy and commitment. So true that it is a job you can't retire from. Blessings to you, and your mom.
I'm glad to know that she passed away naturally and peacefully. Although she was frail at the end, her mind was still sharp and she didn't suffer a serious illness. We should all be so lucky when our time comes. May she RIP.
The fact that she was still up, moving, and doing her work even though we can see how frail she was in those last pictures shows how dedicated she was to seeing through what needed to be done before her passing. Now, she can finally rest and be with her beloved Phillip again. RIP Queen Elizabeth II

having ties to Jeffery Epstein? Murdering innocent people in Africa, refused to give Northern Ireland back? Selling off children? 🤦🏻♀😂 the empire is about to collapse, especially with the conservatives inflation rate. Can’t believe people would defend an incested, pedophillic, and racist murderer. On top of all of that defending the monarchy? They don’t give two shits about you, they just want to live off of your tax money. 🤷🏻♀ And she killed Princess Diana, the only good monarch there EVER was.
I am Canadian and the Queen (and now King Charles) was our head of state. She was much loved and admired by people all over the world and I know that the majority of Americans valued her as well.
You are right . Peaceful passing. She was not even suffering of nothing. At least we did not know. Just gone . Saw the prime minister 3 days before . Did her duty , then went to her home to die . RIP YOUR MAJESTY!
People may criticize what she personified of the Old British Empire, but the lady herself fulfilled her modern post-colonial role with surprising dignity, and I dare even say humility. She was traditional without being overly stuffy, and regal without losing her sense of humor I never once got the impression that she was lording over everyone despite being one of the most famous people in the world. Rest in peace, Your Majesty.
@@keoclarencevictory7121 Just keep posting the same reply over and over again. She wasn't perfect by any means but I defy you to rule for 70 years and never make a mistake. I guess we just can't be as perfect as you.
That woman is legendary. She was working and meeting the Prime Minister two days before her death. Her dedication to be a better person is befuddles me.
That the Queen, aged 96, was still working and meeting the new British Prime Minister only two days before she died, is quite remarkable and a testament to her sense of duty towards the British people. We will miss you, Ma'am.
I had no idea how much she had deteriorated in the last few months. It was not expected here, mainly due to the media using old stock footage of the Queen when a story about the family was the topic. She still had a full face and of course that had gone by the time we saw her most recent engagement.Typical of the left wing media taking little notice of the real people in the country and how we felt about the lady.Australia is now in mourning.
As a proud British Soldier Veteran and a staunch Royalist. The outpouring of love from so many foreign nations is unbelievably heart warming. Thank you. God save the King
I am glad that she was able to pass where she felt the most comfortable with her family close by her side. I’m sure that even her last moments on earth she still had grace. May she Rest In Peace.
Much love to everyone who looked up to her. I'm a French person and I didn't know when this day came it would make me cry. May her memory be carried on always. RIP Queen Elizabeth
It came as a shock as she passed so quickly after the palace made the announcement about her health. I love those last pictures of her. She continued to serve us, her people right up until the end and she looked happy.
I've loved my Queen all my life, and had the privilege of meeting her back in 1984. She was a beacon of hope - exhibiting an unparalleled work ethic, integrity and devotion to her people. I'm not sure we'll see her like again.
@@kuyakenken5503 Europeans can morn her. She's not our queen to us Africans, Indians and Carabians she is a colonism with lots of blood in her hands. She never apologised for the evil her monarch caused. "if there is life after death, let her and her ancestors get what they deserve"
I didn't realise how much emotion I had for Queen Elizabeth II, until she died. Watching her coffin travel on its last journey from Balmoral was such a heartbreaking scene. Her children and grandchildren have had to (as usual) mourn in full view of the public eye. Such an impossible thing to do for most of us. The mould was definitely broken after she was born. God bless
The same. Obviously I knew this was going to happen at some point, but I didn't anticipate it right now or how much it would affect me. I've never been a monarchist, but I've never been anti-monarchy either, and I've found myself upset beyond what I expected, especially seeing some of the photos and drawings posted in tribute. I think it's party due to the the suddenness. I always expected that there would be a more gradual period where it was known that the queen's health was ailing, so we'd be more prepared for this to happen. I didn't think it would be so rapid after her meeting with the new PM two days prior and her family having to rush there on the day. I know sudden deaths aren't uncommon, but I didn't expect it in this instance. And, of course, I feel awful for her family having to deal with protocol and public grief while grieving themselves.
The moment we've dreaded has happened. I'm deeply saddened by her passing. Her constant presence gone, marking the end of a great era. But she will live on in our hearts, and will never be forgotten. She is now immortalized in history as one of the greats for being so beloved & serving the people for so long.
The Queen seemed to be the most stable, constant symbol of strength, civility, and steadfastness for us. She was in a sense, the mother of us all. A true rock and anchor of the free world has left us. She is irreplaceable. Our loss as a society is immeasurable. God bless King Charles III.

@@gsf5882 yeah so did I since her mom did. It gave me comfort thinking she would be around a bit longer. World is a little darker since she is gone. The new guy is already a few step down. Wasn't it just last week that a paper published a story about him accepting money from the Saudis just weeks after 9-11? It seems to have all gotten scrubbed in the grief of her loss.
It's odd - I'm not even from the UK, and I don't even often think of the British monarchy in my daily life - but when Diana died when I was a kid, I cried for her - without even really knowing why - and now I feel tears in my eyes thinking that the Queen is gone from us - perhaps because regardless of where you hailed from, she was for the better part of the last CENTURY a steadfast public fixture. Now and again you'd hear in a film or television show "god save the queen" or a news report might appear, or perhaps her Christmas 2021 speech which you might come across on Twitter and find warming and find yourself somehow compelled to watch it even if you're not of that nation. For my entire life, there was only one Queen that ever came to mind and it was her. If someone ever said "the Queen" my mind went to her. The same was true of my mother - born in 1960, Queen Elizabeth was ALREADY the queen for years before that - in fact, she was already the Queen when my family - before I was born - were living in displaced person camps in the years following World War II, somewhere in Germany. Through all of that - through the space race, through the moon landing, Vietnam, the cold war, the advent of the personal computer and cellular phone, through the decades I've been alive - the 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s and now the 2020s....she was ALWAYS there. And now she's gone. And it feels emptier without her. Somehow even as someone who is not a Brit, I feel the importance of the loss and I feel quite like we've all lost someone who was like a grandmother to the world. I am glad she was able to live such a long life (as humans go - I do not think a century is very long to live at all, and I think none of us ever truly live long enough to be old - because a century in the scheme of things is a very fleeting span of time) and glad to see how beloved she clearly is and was by all. I envy those who were able to meet her - she seems like a lovely woman with a tendency to just make you feel warm and want to smile. Long lived the Queen - and live on she will, for it is said that all who live die two deaths: the passing of your physical body is the first time, and the last time someone utters your name in remembrance, when the last person who knows you existed and remembers what you did in life is gone, that is the second death. I think that it will be an extraordinarily long time before humanity will ever forget her or stop speaking her name. So, live on she will. Rest in peace, Dear Queen Elizabeth.
As a brit myself, i have to say how perceptive your comments are.Its interesting to know that the Queen had the same effect on your life as she did on mine.
I loved your reply. It spoke volumes. I was born in 1951 in Australia and I remember when she came to Sydney in 1954 when I would have been just over two years old, but I have a vague recollection of crowds and waving a flag, although I didn't know who I was supposed to be looking at. I saw her from a distance in Hyde Park, London once and at least I saw her in person, but didn't meet her. Thanks for your heartfelt comments. Very insightful.
You cried because the media hyped it, both Diana and now the Queen. Imagine how you would feel if the media did not put it out there like it is the end of the world.
After Prince Philip passed, her life long companion, I didnt think she would be much longer with us. Part of me is rejoicing because of her extraordinary life, her commitment to her country and people for 70 years, but extremely sad now because I'm going to miss the captain of the ship.
@@kayt9576 yup. When my grandfather passed, he my grandmother were married 70 years. I knew she would pass not long after if I didnt do something about it. So I immediately moved her into my house. And then she began calling me by my grandfather's name. Which I dismissed in my head at the time. Ultimately, my grandmother lived to 94. She lived 10 years passed his death. And I think it was because, she imagined that I was my grandfather and this kept her alive
Please no!!! My grandpa just passed in March. My grandma and him were together since high school, I am hoping this doesn’t happen with my grandma (who was also born in the 1920’s & reminds me a lot of the Queen)
The Queen lived a long, fruitful, extraordinary life dedicated to her family, work, nation and people. Her fellow laborer died last year and she is now at home with him. Of course, death is sad, but we can be comforted that she is reunited with Philip, Margaret, the Queen Mother and the late King whom she dearly loved.
She became frailer and frailer following her husbands death. I think, for me, the most tragic image was that of seeing her all alone with no-one to comfort her in the pew at her beloved Phillips funeral service, enduring all the restrictions that Covid placed upon her. She needed her family with her but that could not be. She was the Captain of our Ship, as someone said on this site. Can anyone steer us through all these troubled times like she did for 70 years? She is a tremendously hard and wonderful act to follow.
I am not British but I do feel deeply sentimental about the passing of the Queen. Full respect to the Queen, her dedication, passion, and bright smiles will forever be remembered and in our heart.
Quite literally the kind of ending we all really desire but so few of us get. She made it to advanced old age with her mind fully intact and in hours ( not months or years) her body gently began to shut down and off she went.
Its kind of a two pronged thing, while yes at 96 you don't expect someone to live much longer, but when that person has been an influential, important figure your whole life its a shock when that person is suddenly gone.
She did her duty, as promised, and when she could do it no longer, she left us. Now we have a new king, and the Queen had great faith in him; so must we.
Very sad news, indeed. As mentioned in the report many of us, British or not, haven’t been in a world without Queen Elizabeth and we are deeply feeling this loss. May she Rest in Peace.

I thought the opposite. Her smile was brighter than any death creeping up on her and for me it was only her light that I saw. There was no way after seeing the video and picture that death looked to be 48 hours away. Peace to all.
I am not British , am not connected to anything British, but I loved the queen so much, she was so sweet and beautiful in and outside, I loved watching everything about her on TV and so on; She lived a wonderful life, she aged well, and her death should be a celebration of a life well lived, but i am still emotional about her death.....Rest in Perfect Peace the REAL Queen of the World💔
As a Brit, thank you, these supportive comments mean a lot to us as well, we're all struggling to accept her loss because she genuinely did and represented so much for our country.

I’ve met many famous people during my life. Everyone from Charles Nelson Reilly to Andy Warhol. I have to admit, it would have been a highlight to have met the queen. Much more exciting than Bozo.
Experiencing the most profound sense of loss, I was thinking earlier about how I could explain this unfathomably deep British relationship with the Queen to my friends in other countries. I realized that it's so very difficult to convey because no comparable frame-of-reference exists for most peoples and nations. The Queen herself was adored. She transcended anything one could ever feel about a political leader or a celebrity. Even whilst some in Britain objected to the monarchical system on ideological grounds, or just bitterly resented the privilege of others, there was invariably respect and admiration for the woman herself. Many of whom are acutely realizing that now, as the loss becomes appreciated. The Queen was our life-long figure head; always there when grandmotherly comfort was needed. Stalwart stoicism when strength and resilience was required. Congratulations when success and joy had to be celebrated. She was unsullied by the grubbiness of politicking. She imposed no favor with certain peoples or ideologies. She did not compromise morality for any practical expediency. Untarnished and unswerving, we could always look to her always for direction. She united. She moderated. She calmed. She showed us duty and morality. She cared, and inspired us to care. We knew, always, that she served and represented us - the people, her subjects. As unwavering as any written constitution. She counselled our elected political leaders accordingly. They heeded her wisdom and experience. There was no question of ulterior motives, alternative agendas, disingenuous interpretations or corrupting influences. She earned our trust and faith through her actions: consistent and unwavering as generations came and went. She earned our loyalty and service, as a people, because her unrelenting loyalty and service to us was never in doubt. She led the nation with purity of purpose; above and distinct from the tarnish of having to manage the country politically. She was singularly our expression of pride. Our Stars and Stripes and our Star Spangled Banner. Her ancestors were our Founding Fathers. She was, in essence, like the greatest president; but from birth to death, absent the divisions of politics or the ambitions of power. She never courted popularity. There was no ego. Her critics and detractors went unanswered; except, through her actions; a ceaseless commitment to the duty she swore to uphold. She gave no interviews to defend herself. She never sought attention as an individual. She didn't crave to be loved by the public. She kept her personality private, never utilising it as a tool to sway and charm people's opinions and beliefs. She was our living constitution; existing to safeguard us against the worst potential excesses and corruptions of elected government. She represented us around the globe and we felt, deeply and personally, the reverence and respect she earned from the greatest leaders of nations. She was the living embodiment of our patriotism. We swore our oaths and allegiance to her, as others might to their constitution. Soldiers, sailors and airmen marched to war under her colours, wearing her insignias, willing to fight and die for what she represented: the nation, the people, selflessness, sacrifice and the legacy of a millennia. The police, the judiciary and courts, the government itself; all its departments and agencies, existed and operated in her name and under her authority. They served Her Majesty, as she expected and ensured; dutifully in service of the people. Yet we knew she was human. She never endeavoured to suggest otherwise. All who met her spoke of her humility, warmth, interest and care. She engaged people and made them feel special. She was also as fallible as anyone else, a mother and wife; which only made her more relatable and inspiring. She had no ambition to her status. It was never more than the heaviest weight upon her shoulders. She neither strove for power, nor did she wield power with any personal gratification or pursuit of self-interest. We recognized the personal sacrifices she made out of sworn duty to us, her people; knowing that few of us could or would tolerate the same. While she embodied an ancient aristocratic class system, it was her very nature and actions which taught us that nobility was truly a status of virtue, not an inheritance. If aspiration to nobility was the British dream, it was her example that showed us we were free to pursue it. She was a positive constant in every facet our daily lives. So seemingly permanent and enduring that, inevitably, we took it for granted. We could never imagine her loss; even whilst knowing it was inevitable. To hear the news of her passing yesterday was beyond immediate processing. It was not merely the stunned shock of upset surprise. One had to first digest and appreciate what she had been to us. As that slowly happens, a palpable sense of visceral emptiness and void grew inside. The depth of loss is spiritual, profoundly personal and indescribably fundamental. It only deepens as the hours pass. If you see tears form in a Brit's eyes, know that they come from deep in the soul. We grieve for the woman, but we mourn losing something far beyond just a beloved person.

Elizabeth II 1926-2022 70 years a Queen Oh! We watch, disconsolate, her ascent, Amid such mournful sentiment; The Queen is gone; how can it be!? Without her there, then who are we? Before our assumed identity, shaken, She’s now been very gently taken; Though in our hearts deep sorrow endures She’s free, the golden stars are hers. Tonight’s blank and sober picture frame Looks to the heavens she’s to reclaim In winged flight, soaring up and away, She’s gone to meet her strength and stay. I am surely not a young woman now, But she’s always been calmly at the prow; A seeming mother, compass, and guide It felt she was ever at our side. Walk forth, we shall, following her way, Poised; collected before the fray; Oh, Her Majesty has left a hole, Our hearts will take time to console. But heal we will; she taught us well, Standing calm against hurt and hell; We were blessed with a lady such as she, Shedding our tears as she’s set free. She needs no more repose and rest The skies welcome their lovely guest; She glides the infinite sparkling joy, Liberated, strong, her glistening envoi. ~ Joana Dougherty McGee
Yes she lived a privileged and pampered life. That's not necessarily her fault though. She had to go almost her entire life without the freedom and normality every single one of us take for granted. Her suffering and problems in life may have been different than ours but they were there like every other human that lives. Her service and commitment to the job she was born into up until her final hours is very impressive. A cultural icon that had an impact in almost every single corner of the planet. She was the definition of an enigma. I wonder how the monarch will do going from a very long stable reign of a woman...to a 70yo man in this day and age.

I couldn't believe it when I was talking to my friend in Great Britain, and he told me Queen Elizabeth had passed away, she worked tirelessly for her country and her family, Queen Elizabeth has been on the throne for as long as I've born, and I was born in 1958. She is at peace with her beloved Prince Phillip
It has been said that when a person is about to make their final exist, they glow, shine, show full of energy right before. The Queen looked so. Soon though, off she went with her angels. What an incredible woman Queen Elizabeth II was, incomparable ! My late Filipino mother, a former teacher, back in California never left her backyard to travel. She adored and was so fond of The Queen she decorated her house like an English Palace. She had impeccable taste - browsed through magazines to mimic and put things on "Lay Away" when it existed so she can live like The Queen so she thought. She showed these very signs right before she left us. I came home from Europe during her final days. She was alert, awake, talkative but 3 days later she left us. She was my Queen : ) Thank you Queen Elizabeth II for giving my mother her joy of your presence, existence.
They broke the mold, with Queen Elizabeth.. I believe she was chosen ,by God , from birth to be Queen. She was a leader as a child. There will not be another like her, in this role. I think Princess Katherine, and Prince William, are a beautiful legacy left to the Monarchy,. Hopefully they will be King and Queen, one day .
My mum is English. I have family in England. And I consider myself a part of the British family. When I got the alert on my phone at work I was shock. I just stopped doing payroll and cried. Iam from Texas, and for me the Queen did so much for Britian. I follow history especially WW II which during that time I having seen news reels of her as a young woman working during the war effort. She was absolutely perfect for the throne to assist to rebuild after the war. May Gods blessings rest upon her and family. Hurts me too !!!
As an American, I have always appreciated and respected the historical role and cultural significance of Queen Elizabeth II and her family in British history. That said, Thursday was truly an auspiciously sad day for both the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. including my country, the United States of America. May G-d bless both her family and the people of Great Britain. Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth II (21 April 1926 - 8 September 2022). 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 "This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England ... " -William Shakespeare (1564-1616), King Richard II (1595), Act II, Scene I
When we were saying "The Queen" it was about her, the queen of Britain, although it's not the only monarchy in Europe. She was an institution. I had a deep respect for her majesty. Sad times for us to be left without such a great personality..
Nice to know that when she passed, it was in her favorite place. We can all only dream we are that fortunate. I admire her for working right up until the very end. She said that she would serve until the end of her life and she kept that vow. Right Queen Elizabeth II and long live King Charles III. ✌🇨🇦😥💔👑👑
I think her favourite place may have been Windsor., she chose to live there right? . Buckingham Palace works a bit if we want to have a focal point, but Windsor was nicer when we look at them all. Balmoral I am sure is nice, , but Windsor was home Buck palace was work, and balmoral was a weekend away.
Her Majesty was a constant in an ever changing world. When they announced her passing I burst into tears and cried and the last time that happened was when I lost my mother in 2019, so yes she do feel like a member of the family.

Hello

I am not British , am not connected to anything British, but I loved the queen so much, she was so sweet and beautiful in and outside, I loved watching everything about her on TV and so on; She lived a wonderful life, she aged well, and her death should be a celebration of a life well lived, but i am still emotional about her death.....Rest in Perfect Peace the REAL Queen of the World💔

I cannot believe our beautiful Queen has passed .I was lucky enough to meet her she was so lovely.
May she rest in peace.
Lucky, you met a piece of history. I still can't believe she's gone
I’ve met many famous people during my life. Everyone from Charles Nelson Reilly to Andy Warhol. I have to admit, it would have been a highlight to have met the queen. Much more exciting than Bozo.
Hello
You met her! Your lucky! 😊
Wow!
Just wow!
I could literally feel what you felt when you wrote this piece.
I mourn the Queen with the people of Great Britain.

Elizabeth II 1926-2022
70 years a Queen
Oh! We watch, disconsolate, her ascent,
Amid such mournful sentiment;
The Queen is gone; how can it be!?
Without her there, then who are we?
Before our assumed identity, shaken,
She’s now been very gently taken;
Though in our hearts deep sorrow endures
She’s free, the golden stars are hers.
Tonight’s blank and sober picture frame
Looks to the heavens she’s to reclaim
In winged flight, soaring up and away,
She’s gone to meet her strength and stay.
I am surely not a young woman now,
But she’s always been calmly at the prow;
A seeming mother, compass, and guide
It felt she was ever at our side.
Walk forth, we shall, following her way,
Poised; collected before the fray;
Oh, Her Majesty has left a hole,
Our hearts will take time to console.
But heal we will; she taught us well,
Standing calm against hurt and hell;
We were blessed with a lady such as she,
Shedding our tears as she’s set free.
She needs no more repose and rest
The skies welcome their lovely guest;
She glides the infinite sparkling joy,
Liberated, strong, her glistening envoi.

"This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England ... "
-William Shakespeare (1564-1616), King Richard II (1595), Act II, Scene I

Thankyou 🙏❤️
She is wonderful! She dedicated her life to her duty! There will be no other like her 💗
When we were saying "The Queen" it was about her, the queen of Britain, although it's not the only monarchy in Europe.

May her soul rest in peace
I think her favourite place may have been Windsor., she chose to live there right?
.
Buckingham Palace works a bit if we want to have a focal point, but Windsor was nicer when we look at them all.
Balmoral I am sure is nice, , but Windsor was home
Buck palace was work, and balmoral was a weekend away.

Her Majesty was a constant in an ever changing world. When they announced her passing I burst into tears and cried and the last time that happened was when I lost my mother in 2019, so yes she do feel like a member of the family.

She was the most magnificent leader probably in the last two hundred years. Never a word out of place..never a wrong foot put forward. Just dignity, love, concern, beauty and justice.
WTF?!
Very well put. I feel she was broken after Philip died, may she rest in peace. See this video about what many people would like fro her next th-cam.com/video/hfamM3jlSXw/w-d-xo.html
