This library sounds like the last brass library i'll ever need! :) So beefy! Great work Tom and friends. Next a JXL Percussion library?! :D
Masterpiece!! Orchestral Tools has done it again! What I like is that OT yet again recorded in Teldex for this project. This is so smart, and important. Because this makes it so that all the other libraries that they have (Berlin strings, Berlin brass, percussion, metropolis, etc) will fit together perfectly, compared to other companies who tend to record the same library over and over but in different studios; hence, they never progress in realism really, but just record the same things over and over in different rooms. There is little progression. They record strings in studio A, and 2 years later they record strings in studio B, but neither sound better than the other.
OT, however, has a different approach. They have chosen Teldex, and they expand upon it which gives an unmatched variety of libraries that fits perfectly together. Teldex sounds phat and deep, but can also sound delicate. If they keep this concept (and I hope they do) and keep adding, updating, and improving upon existing libraries that they have (Berlin strings for example with more articulations, more legato types maybe, etc, and now different colors of brass such as JXL Brass and Berlin Brass) they will remain unmatched when it comes to sample libraries. And btw, Junkie XL is a master!!! I pre-ordered before even seeing this demo, because I know OT and Tom are the best of the best, and I have full trust in their brand. I am speechless guys, I can't wait to try it and to see what more will come in the future!

Awesome Tom!!! The sound, oh wow! Any idea of how much CPU power and RAM the SINE player engine demands vs Kontakt for a comparably sized arrangement? I want to know if I need a new machine. I'm assuming there are also brass effects, like swells, falls, rips, shakes, trills, etc right? If so, does the SINE engine allow you to modify things like swell time, trill intervals, etc because as you know preset samples don't always fit the timing or key of what you're doing. Thank you so much, sounds ridiculous!
Please do a sample library with the London Symphony Orchestra, that would be amazing!

you guys need to get Berlin Brass updated with louder dynamics, you did it for this library, you need to do it for your own library as well
I cant imagine how near impossible that would be to track after the fact. Lucy have you ever recorded anything ever in real life?
if you want 4 different horn players with a slightly different microphone setup, use a layer from another library :P
I plan on using both bb and jxl whenever it gets ported to sine
@@kylejudkins754 Yes I have, I am a professional flautist. I record quite a lot.
okay, now record half a phrase with one flute, take your 15+ mic setup in a 450m2 room down, then come back 2 years later with a different flautist playing a different flute, set the mics up how you think they were that week 2 years prior, and then enjoy how obvious it is that they arent the same instruments, players, or sessions.
you clearly dont have the foresight to see why your request is not only unrealistic, but will almost undoubtedly have a poor result.
instead you could learn to not rely on sustain patches and program parts using the various shorts/marcato.
the marcato longs are more than enough power, and sound more appropriate than the sustain patch would.
@@kylejudkins754 erm, maybe you should actually shut up, because i already spoke with Tobias from Orchestral Tools last year, and HE TOLD ME they was going to recorded an extra higher dynamic layer. I am writing this as a reminder to them, So what do you have to say now, Kyle?
@@SLucy-dq6oh Would be awesome! Though, I do have to say I'm still waiting for Cinestrings Pro and Sonokinetic's string and brass ensembles, which both companies told me several times it woud be there "soon" years ago. :P

Hi Ruhrpott Soundtracks. Yes we're working on them now making sure they include as many examples as possible. But also Junkie XL Brass has a huge dynamic range to choose from (from pp to fff), as well as solo patches (you can see the instruments at www.jxlbrass.com). There'll be more Demos and Walkthroughs that show this though, so stay tuned!

Just to give some feedback for the UI. There's a separation line between the Solo and Mute buttons. Actually this is quite confusing.
I would suggest to place them between channels instead. This makes it way easier to understand to which channel they belong to.
I'm talking about the "Mic Remote" panel here. Just realized that it is like that in the "Mixer" view.
The library sound so good! I just wish i could afford it haha. We'll see how much the mix positions cost for each section.
I'm not sure why this isn't obvious, but I'm 90% sure that instrument SECTIONS are individually purchasable, but microphones are not.
wouldnt make a lot of sense because people could just buy 1 mic of the whole ensemble for (presumably) 1/16th the price

Hi - thank you for your lovely feedback. There's currently no string library in this series - but anything is possible in the future!

I guess there is no doubt the product is very singular and especial because his unique signature ; just regarding integration it holds me back ;) If people are buying as a complement to some essentials they already have looks very good, but as a first buy i dont know, maybe only in these sales. It is very detailed and sophisticated but i have doubts in its more essential and basic/ fast use. For me would be decisive a simple but HQ playable “complete” perc kit, (with cymbals, snare…) in no more than few patches additionally to this. But there is no flaw in this bundle for me, just noticing the profile of who “needs” such vst, in case one is thinking to buy something basic and multifunctional. Regarding JXL Brass i also wonder if there is some ensemble/sketch patch?
Another tip for integration in other workflow would be adding some nks alternative, and allowing the velocity remap. I loved JXL’s boldness in this decision, because he focuses]d on what many vsts are bad (the playability) but for some cases we still need the standard unfortunately, namely: when we write direct to sheet music. For me the ideal is the standard velocity mapping, but many layers, and mirrored BY TWO , 3 OR 4 KEYS. This allows the best use of an ensemble patch for percussion! You find good and coherent combinations in the same track, and can do perfect rolls and repetitions (the most important part!).
A video of JxL using it in some piece is very welcome, i miss his tutorials!

Sounds big and very fat and nice. I’m a little concerned about some programming details - the tuba demo shows some long decays that overlap the next note. This is something I’ve run into in Capsule and Berlin Strings as well. I was thinking that the new engine would be better at connecting releases. Hoping this gets worked out in the final version. Also hearing some pitchy stuff in the trumpets early on. Great sound and promising tech - looking forward to where this goes.

No need for Kontakt in the future. NI should re-work Kontakt, otherwise it will be forgotten, since more and more companies use their own player (better graphics and simple/faster solutions) imho.

As a horn player, one thing I’ve been looking for in a lib but haven’t found yet is a solid middle dynamic. There’s this sweet spot on horn where it’kindas really full, clear, silky, and intense but warm and every library I’ve heard doesn’t do it justice. They skip from the low dynamics straight to a brassy/raspy timber. Some of it might just be crossfading setup, but I swear I tend to hear ff-type “buzzing” at even mp or mf. I feel like there’s so much more middle range to explore than is typically available.
Haven’t heard enough from this to tell if it’ll pass my picky opinions, but it sounds good at any rate and it’s not like I have the funds to invest in this as a poor college student/hobbyist right now anyways so I don’t really have any skin in the game 🙃
as someone who owns all the major libraries, this is going to he the one to get.
csb isn't bad, but it fades to silence so you dont get to really hear the bottom layer, and besides the weird mid buildup, teldex sounds soooooo much better for brass
You're 100% spot on. I usually end up blending most FH Ensemble patches with solo FH samples that have more of that sweet "unbuzzy" midrange. We'll see what this library is like...
Michael Kramer That’s a neat trick I hadn’t thought of, surprisingly! Simple but effective. I want to say I’ve also played around with EQing around 4KHz but that gets dicey because that’s also where a lot of the body of the sound comes from

I'm sorry for saying this but I'm a bit disappointed in this library. First of all the interface needs a lot of work to work with other DAWs properly.
Second. The sound quality to this instrument is phenomenal but needs a lot of work in the legato transitions, it's almost like it's not there at all. You guys claimed too surpass expectations from realism, when it comes to legato, it can be improved. In fact, you guys did wonderful when it came to legato transitions on certain libraries like Glory Days big brass band and Metropolis Ark 2 and 4. The short notes are phenomenal, it's just needs a lot of work in legato department.
I was excited to see how this was going to blow my expectations but it didn't, your older libraries did. I felt like I wasted money...
