      Don Diego I’m a horn player myself, so I care quite a bit about how they sound. A problem I’ve seen in all the other libraries I’ve heard is that often the lower dynamics are either unsupported or just lack the rich choral quality, and never capture the spot in the mid dynamics that’s strong and smooth (going up to clear and almost piercing in the high range) but not brassy, which I consider the butter range and is one of my favorite horn tone colors. You’ll often hear libraries skip from a soft dynamic color essentially straight into brassy, with a “buzzy” quality coming in as early as mp or mf, when the rounder, smoother quality really sticks around longer. If I have to bet, it has to do with a combination of the number of dynamic crossfade layers and the crossfading scripting, in addition to the way they’re recorded.

      @@luxaritas I'm a bit of a noob here and trying to decide on a brass library. 8Dio had a big sale on their Century Brass recently, but I was quickly turned off by that awful buzzing that you mentioned, absolutely ruins the horns... What's your opinion on Audio Bro's MODERN SCORING BRASS compared to this? It caught my attention when someone in another comment mentioned that it has auto-divisi, and the demos for it sound pretty nice... And currently the same price. Also wondering if it would make sense to get the Berlin Brass now that this is available; Seems like it was designed more specifically to blend with the other Berlin libraries, and even tho Junkie can supposedly blend seamlessly as well, I have to wonder if I would feel like I was missing anything by going with one over the other?

    Deep, rich and articulate. Merci, and thanks in all the languages, especially music. Due to the huge playable range, this seems suitable for all sorts of compositions and soundscapes. Any thoughts on producing Cab Calloway - Minnie the moocher type jazz, and also Ska/dub With this? Adding fx will likely achieve desired results for those styles.

    Really like the sound of this library! I already own Berlin Brass, and am wondering if it's worth it to add this one the the collection as well. Any major differences? This one feels like it broadened the dynamic spectrum a bit? Are repetition patches still a thing? Or are the short note articulations used for that instead?

    • @zaharishtonov

      OT has said that Berlin Brass and this would blend seamlessly.

    • @Orchestral-Tools
      @Orchestral-Tools  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We tried to capture the staccatissimo rather short. Programming short triplets or doubles should be easy. The focus of Junkie XL Brass is more on the articulations we all use on a daily basis but doing those as detailed and consistent as possible. Especially with the 5 dynamic layers you'll come pretty far.

I do have other brass libraries, as well as the one in the BBCSO library, which lacks in dynamics so badly. This library will really be able to replace those brass sections. Now all we need is JXL Strings, Woods, and Percussion as well as Synths :D
