      Orchestral Tools You’re welcome Orchestral Tools, already used the strings in a track! Complements your solo strings and metropolis ark strings really nicely! Love the sine player too, is it possible to load your older kontakt libraries in it?

    • @Orchestral-Tools
      @Orchestral-Tools  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey @@samshrimpton407! Great, we love to hear that 🙏 They will be available in SINE soon, we're in the middle of the process now but as you can imagine it's a big job. We'll let you know as soon as they're available though-you'll just need the serials of the OT libraries you already have, and just simply add them under 'My Licenses' in SINE.

    • @samshrimpton407

      Orchestral Tools oh thats awesome! Really looking forward to switching! Yeah no worries, I imagine its quite the task moving these libraries to a new player. Take your time, it will be well worth the wait! Really love how you can just drag a patch from one instrument into a separate one in Sine.

    This is so refreshing. So tired of unnatural sounding cinematic string libraries everyone is producing. This actually sounds like a real orchestra playing, which I've never heard before from any string VST. Really hope you guys come up with more flexible library that retain this sound. Layers is an incredible instrument and Sine Player works very well and I like a lot. I'm looking forward to use my Berlin Woodwinds and my Metropolis Ark 1 & 2 through SINE. However, I have some suggestions to improve both Layers and Sine Player.
    In Layers it would be fantastic to have a graphic depiction of what instrument is playing which note (and where is it placed). It will be very educative and it will make it easier to do creative voicings and so on.
    Besides, to have a "PRO" version with more voicings and other type of chords would be great.
    In the Sine Player, I would add the option of renaming the patches. This will allow to do my next suggestion.
    I think you're doing a GREAT job, and I wish I had the money to buy the Junkie XL brass, which sounds also fantastic. So Thanks for all the hard work!

Same for the key switches, will they be reassignable to buttons? Personally I don't have such a long range of keys on my keyboard, so that would be very useful. Thanks!

    5:00 i like that he speaks accompanment, because one doesn't want to be fooled using this as a the main compositional tool. You have to improvise very good, and even though lazy orchestral music sounds stupid for who truly love orchestra. The best is to use these wonderful tools to save time for details, phrasing and counterpoint, and a more deep revision. Many orchestral mistakes happen because it is a lot of work and we give up at some point, so it helps so much to not loose so much energy sketching

    This one is brilliant. Parallel minors and parallel majors make for some great effects. And you can actually perform more or less properly voice lead progressions with this. You also get to experiment with chord progressions very easily; massive stacked octave-separated tones like this would be a real pain to program by yourself for such experimentation.
    It has its limitations, as expected for a free library. But it also sounds incredibly good for being free.

    When you have multiple instruments in the articulation list, are they controlled by different MIDI channels even if I'm using key switches? I can't seem to play notes from the next instrument, even when I change the midi channel on my keyboard.

    • @evanheaton806
      @evanheaton806 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I figured it out. In Ableton, a single MIDI track can't have data for multiple midi channels. To get around it, I just created more MIDI tracks that send midi data on various channels to the MIDI track running layers.

    I downloaded it and have been playing with it for a couple of hours . It´s very light on the cpu and the memory , super user friendly, the versatility of the player itself and the sample quality on the free instruments is exquisite , can´t imagine on the paid libraries! Yeah , time to start building a new collection... If SINE had an orchestrator ... I know , I know , IT´S FREE!!!! lol Just dreaming (wink) .
    I have one question , I see a button that says ïmport¨ does it support other vendors libraries or only OT?
    For the people that read comments: trust me , no matter your production level YOU NEED THIS!
    Last but not least big thanks to Simeon Amburgey , thanks to him I finally found what is probably the best player I´ve tried.

  • @garval5498

    At 3:50 it says when you play C1 (based on a C3=middle C convention) you get a root position chord, with the 5th in the soprano and the root in the bass. However, that's not what I hear, to me it sounds like G1-C2-E2-G2 and I can't spot a C1 below G1. It seems to me Layers plays close position triads with the bass doubling the soprano. Here's hoping for a demo competition, I believe I can figure this baby out and make it sing!

      Yeah I had that problem too, once I played Axel Foley's theme, I immediately knew something was off with the chords placement on the keys, unfortunately I don't think there's a solution to this problem however, the problem isn't present on the other instruments like Big Band Brass, or the Organ.

    Hello, I am really getting into learning orchestrating with SINE Layers, but I seem to have to overcome certain breaking points.
    A: I can not load all libraries and arrange instruments in the player. I can load only one Instrument at a time and if I select the second Instrument, it simply doesn't play back it's audio. Switching in between major/minor/staccato and so on works though.
    A1: I've read that keyswitching interrupts audio playback. In this video it doesn't happen, how do you want to switch from minor to major with natural playback?
    B: I will be getting a bigger MIDI Keyboard to use the full 88 Keys range, but is there a way to arrange the keyswitches where there's usually notes playing? My keyboard starts at C01 and C0 kind of doesn't exist there. It makes sense that you can't overwrite keyswitches onto actual note keys, .. but is there a way? xD
    C: I have to draw Automation per hand because I don't have a wheel yet. Cubase R/W doesn't function except when I draw it by hand. In the future I obviously want to use the Modwheel, but I should be able to move it with the mouse and when I play back the track, the automation should be written? Well, the player doesn't do it.
    D: My player doesn't function at 100% obviously, could it be that I have to load it into a sampler, like Kontakt 6? If so, I've gotta buy that as well ._.

    It doesnt work, well atleast not for me. I work on ableton and the VST isnt working, i tried using it as a standalone app instead, however, alot of the features in Sine dont work, for eg the Mixer , Dynamics and Mod wheel. For eg whenever i click on a parameter like the cut off filter or soft low layer option, the audio just stops and i cant use the sample/instrument. Instead id reload it, also i was trying to use the mod wheel to switch between strings and that didnt work either, kind of just distorted the sound with a tremolo effect (unpleasent sound). BUT, the sounds are amazing nonetheless, maybe its just bugged out as a new software, im not exactly sure how to export the sounds to my DAW either, but looking forward to using those rich strings when its working.

    Is it limited to only a certain amount of Chords. I quickly discarded this, because I make the cords with another lead instrument in my daw and when I copy paste the chords to Layers, it doesn´t sound like I want it to sound like.

      You need to go the website and click on GET IT FREE. You'll be asked to log in to your account and once you do, you'll receive a mail from them. Follow the procedure as mentioned in the mail and you'll be able to download Layers.

      Hey man! I had the same issue but I figured it out.
      1) Download the SINE player from their site
      2) Open the SINE players standalone program
      3) Go to 'My Products' or whatever it's called and from there you can download everything.
      When you've downloaded everything, make sure you've added it into your VST's in your DAW (I use Cubase) and then open up 'SINE' as your instrument track and everything should be in there :)

    Really interesting instruments. Unfortunately, when playing in Ableton it seems to only work for around half a minute until the sounds cut off. I have to re-activate my sound card from the Ableton settings for another 30 seconds of sound - haven't run into this with any other library or instrument.

    great sounds. i'm just a bit confused, if a single note on the the keyboard plays a triad, which key is that triad based on? how do i change the key to make chords in whatever key i am writing in?

    • @DavidKudellMusic
      @DavidKudellMusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Taylor Wynn the note you choose is the key, so if you play a C you’ll get a C chord....then you use key switches to choose if it’s a major, minor, or sustained chord. Key switches are just other keys on your keyboard that are assignable, but default to the low C key. So C would play major, C# would play minor, D would play sustained, etc. Keyswitches are commonly used in all sample libraries to switch the type of sound you are playing (articulations).

    Err, no. I've downloaded it and installed. I'm finding this very clunky.
    I would like to switch layers with assignable midi cc.
    The first issue is that it assumes I have a keyboard with easy access to octave -2.
    So, I click on the 'Articulation' tool setting to change it to Midi-cc, and it auto-assigns midi cc values.
    Why is there no midi-learn function?
    I have no 'program change' buttons and the midi channel switching is just impractical.
    Although this is understandably free, I would like to play the chords or single notes myself.
    I'm sure it is okay for some users, but I find it to be very strange and un-useable.
