Good to see you boys ramble at each other again if for only this occasional discussion ♥️, the movie itself I thought was quite good with the cg being a little distracting but I’ve learned to compartmentalize that since it’s sorta how it is and it’s mostly for things like animals that may be easier to just not have to work with like the bear or snake and the but I do wish the predators suit was more present, the best moment for it was t he burnt forest scene because that’s when the suit was used most
To speak to your discussion on talking to someone younger about the old predator movies. I'm not 18 but 24 so older gen z. I liked the old predator movies I thought the franchise was really cool. But I will definitely say I was way more into the alien series more than the predator franchise. I haven't watched prey yet but I will say for the newer movies I have only really enjoyed predators from like 2010 I think.

What do you guys think of this? Marvel doing Predator now. They have made a point to write the human characters calling the species Predator instead of the Yautja. None of the movies, novels, or the comics in the past have referred to them as the "Predator". That's always been just the movie title and the way fans refer to them. But that's just my personal opinion.

As a 19 year old Predator fan, I thought this movie is probably the best since the original, I like Predator 2, but it gets pretty goofy at points. I still prefer the original design from the first movie, but the new Predator is intimidating as ever and his Bio-mask looks awesome. Overall, I think the Jungle Hunter is still the best Portrayal of the intelligent, calculated, powerful alien hunter. I like that the feral Predator is more of a brute, new to earth, and is unblooded, giving the humans a more realistic chance of survival.
About the languages, the French guys in the movie were actually speaking with a « near-impossible to understand » accent. I had to rewind several times because they did not bother putting subtitles for these « « French » » dialogues in France, probably thinking it was good enough. But it really wasn’t 😅 It reminded me of the French guy in « The Boys » who can just say a few words with a very very strong accent and a lot of grammatical errors. I think the grammar was OK in Prey but the accent and prononciation were just horrible.

Gwynne's *_'Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches...'_* : th-cam.com/video/USHBsIjRaNI/w-d-xo.html Unlike 'Prey', and obviously minus outer space creatures _(but with the U.S. Army, Ranald S. Mackenzie, Buffalo Soldiers, etc.),_ such a movie would take place in the late 1800's and focus on the Comanche at their peak when they were renowned for their horse associated culture and obtained a reputation (infamously or incorrectly) for raiding, aggression, violence.. *_"Lords of The Southern Plains"_* through the Kwahadi (Comanche band) surrender under Quanah's leadership.
So I heard the explanation for the helmet lacking eye sockets from the creator of this predator. Good luck deciphering it though: Heat sensitive nodes send the data to his network of heat sensitive organs in the frill Also, I can see that so many people appreciate the food chain build up, from snake to bear, and most argue this is because he's an unblooded predator, this is his first hunt. It's a pity we're building such a badass alien in the original movie, just to show him here being green and all and having no clue who's the worthy hunt. All that while advertising that this is a very intelligent alien roaming the galaxies in search for the ultimate prey. To me, that doesn't sound like he would go hunt wolf. But whatever.
The lead producer Jhane Myers, is Comanche, apparently. And all the actors, except the predator and the French trappers, were Indigenous. Well, he never fully submerged like in the first film, so that could explain away the discrepancy. But it's more of a, "just move past it, it's fine."

Prey to me is up there with Titanic and Terminator 2. I think it even surpassed the 1987 predator. 10/10 movie
