Why I left BPO? / Nakaka-stress ba talaga?

  • Hi everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my channel! I know how stressful working in the BPO industry can get, and in today's video, I'll be sharing the reasons why I quit working as a customer service representative. It was such a memorable experience and something that has improved me a lot. I am not sure if I still have plans on going back, but one thing's for sure, I am not closing any doors. Right now, I am very happy with my job at PSG, and I intend to stay for at least a year because this is the type of work I enjoy doing. I don't think everyone has the same thoughts working in a call center as mine. Some may enjoy the job and others may not be that stressed out as there are a lot of factors to consider. I am speaking based on my own experience and that of someone who is a working student and a newbie in the call center. I am always grateful for my stay in BPO, but I just don't have the strong personality and that level of patience to deal with different types of customers on a daily basis.

    I have a degree in Political science. I worked in city hall before but due to low pay I transitioned to call center industry. After more than 2 years with call center from healthcare to retail, I am done with it. I vow to never return.I value my mental health. I'm still depress but recovering. I am going to start a small food business later on and start gardening which I love doing. Since it is business I know It has potential to grow unlike as employee following higher up commands. Thanks for this video now I know I'm not the only one based on the comments.

    Thanks for the content. That is true experience & real life inside bpo voice account even on local voice account.stress points: high queuing, survey, qa kpi points , 2min call handling, irate customer can remember until sleep, supervisor call everyday. (Sometimes supervisor whisper on the call)

    Im Currently working on a BPO, di ko na mention yung company pero im telco account. Im almost 2 years sa company and it seems it is not healthy anymore, i know there's a lot of opportunities but i have a trauma right now to find another job because on my work field nagkaron ako ng depression and araw araw stress. Every month lagi ako nag papa check up and araw araw gusto ko na lang ma aksidente or mamatay nalang. Kung gusto niyo mag trabaho as suggestion lang. Alam naten marami tayong gastusin sa buhay pero piliin mo kung saan ka masaya at di ka matulad saken na di ko na alam san ako pupunta. Parang na trap ako at di na ko makawala

      I went out not because of irate callers I gave up because the training was too haphazard that it made me look too dumb. Hahaha

    super true pagsabak ko palang sa nesting gusto ko na agad mag quite super nakakapagod dala mo hanggang sa weekend took me 2 days to fully recover and hindi na tlaga ako mag sstay mag freelance work nlng ako bahala na maliit ang sweldo atleast yung pagod mo hindi mo madala sa restday mo. grabe bilang isang introvert talking to new people every call is so draining parang ito papatay sakin ng maaga so i decided na umuwi nlng and mag wfh nlng

      I am not introverted person pero dealing with new people is not my thing it feels so awkward and feels like I am pushing myself to talk to someone then assuming their impression of me of how I talk or how I handle them is mentally exhausting, especially to the things or to the situation that I have no control of then trying to continually having a conversation to them is very depressing. I want to quit my job right now 😭

    Healthcare in the US is designed to be as confusing as possible. Don't feel bad if di mo siya na gets because it is built that way para madali madugas yung mga tao sa US.
    Kahit yung mga agents sa US na nagwowork sa healthcare nalilito din sila.
    Salamat sa content na to, it accurately reflects yung challenges na hinaharap ng mga bpo employees. Thanks for saying things how it really is.

    I believe yung pros sa bpo ay mabilis ang onboarding process. Well ang tricky part lang yung interview if yung interviewer gusto pahirapan yung applicante. Above minimum ang sahod minsan plus sign in bonus sobrang enticing. Pero once nakapasok kana boom irate customers. I realize hindi ako pwede sa voice account at napansin ko kapag irate maiksi ang pasensya ko especially kapag bastos example dinadamay na yung parents ko at ako mismo. Kung bastos lang din naman babastusin ko din siya. There are times na marerealize ni customer na mali siya. Kaya dapat hindi standard na puro sorry or yes lang ang sagot kasi most of the time hindi mali ni agent Yung problema. I'm not saying they don't have the right to be mad but its not right to blame the agent. Kasi minsan naiisip ko ano ba gusto mo tulong ko o therapy.

    Na alala KO dati naiinggit ako Pg my nakikita akong nag wowork SA BPO, ngyun ako na ang nag wowork 6 companies na ang na try KO. SA BPO lng nasira mental health KO. Now planning na mg resign at mag change career na.. never and ever na tlga ako mg BPO pa!

    Hi! Proud of you kasi may courage kang idiscuss yung mga ganitong bagay about sa BPO. Yes, nakakastress talaga at minsan dahil sa sobrang stress, nakakadepress na, nakakaanxiety and nakakababa din ng stats kasi negats na yung feelings mo habang naghahandle ng calls. My advice to everyone who's reading this and still works in BPO or planning to work in BPO is not to take it personal and make your health a priority, ikalma ang sarili. Karamihan kasi satin ay nagsstay parin sa BPO kasi wala pang choice at hindi naman natin kasalanan yon. Isipin nyo nalang na dadating din ang araw na matututunan nyo din lahat pati pagcontrol ng feelings nyo. Naiyak din ako dati sa prod pero walang nakapansin, naiyak ako dahil sa inis, dahil sa awa, dahil sa stats pero naisip ko lang, ginagawa ko naman lahat, ipinaliwanag ko naman na paulit ulit pa nga at paiba iba ng way para maexplain pero close minded sya kasi kasalanan nya, nagtake pa nga ako ng extra mile para malinawan sya pero DSAT parin; okay, okay lang ako basta ang alam ko ginawa ko lahat ng pwedeng gawin para makatulong at kung mapalipat ako ng account because of my stats, well ganon lang talaga baka hindi lang para sakin.

    True ako gusto ko na bumigay, sobrang stress na napaka toxic minsan naiiyak na lang ako kasi wala pa din akong ipon, mas okay na lang mag trabaho abroad kaya nagbabalak na ako umalis at mag canada na lang 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

    Hello I'm also from healthcare account handling members, bagong endorse pa lang ako sa prod, 1st day ng nesting gusto ko na mag quit talaga lol since newbie lang ako sa bpo ang 1st job ko 'to. Honestly mahirap nga lalo na pag wfh kasi yung support thru chat lang sa gc's pero after a few weeks masasanay ka na rin even tho every week may irate talagang member tho hindi naman lahat nagmumura (and pwedeng pwede mo naman babaan ng call mga ganun) and as what I've observed kapag mabait & soft boses mo hindi nagiging ganun ka irate si member kahit inis na sya sa insurance nya hahahahaha

    iba pa rin ung buhay sa call center, kasi ok sya sa una pero habang tumatagal medyo workload na, especially high demand ung account sa ibibigay sayo

    Working in the BPO Industry is good for a quick cash gig if you plan on applying for a much better job later on. I've been working in the Fraud Early Warning department for 8+ Years and I can say that it was very good at first, but now it's just utter hell! I'm also planning on leaving this sh*thole soon because the money is no longer worth when it comes to my mental health.

    Sobrang nakarelate ako dito. Pero dito ko lang din narealize na hindi ako pwede sa voice account at karamihan ng calls puro i want to speak to a supervisor. Iilan lang yung maayos kausap. Sobrang rude kasi talaga ng ibang customer. I remember one time sobra mag mura at sumisigaw na siya sa phone nainis na ako binabaan ko siya. I hate this phrase that customer is always right. Some foreigners sobrang entitled grabe makademand. But i feel it too na walang gana pumasok kasi mag calls nanaman tapos puro mura lang maririnig ko. Madali lang sabihin ng iba na wag mong dibdibin pero kasi yung iba nammersonal kaya pag bastos sila sinasagot ko din sila. They should thanks us kasi we are extending our arms for them to help pero most of them ayaw yun gusto lagi supervisor agad. Right now im applying for non voice try ko lang if pwede sakin pero if not balik nalang ako uli sa normal jobs less stress less pay.

    I feel you. I worked as a Service Desk Analyst sa BPO company tapos yung account namin may 10k na employees, so kapag may system issue queueing talaga sobra and ayun nga mga obobs na tumatawag and minsan racist. naka 2yrs din ako sa BPO nag resign ako kasi kahit day off parang naririnig ko yung ring ng phone, kakagulat nalang minsan. Ngayon niniisip ko bumalik sa BPO kasi goods ang pera kaya pinapanood ko vid na to. HHAHAHA

      Basta wag lng maging soft hearted at iwan mo ung calls sa site at wag dalhin sa bahay and ull be fine and at the end of the day kahit magwala pa yang customer sayo they do not matter for you enough to care for them then what your work requires

    Thank you po sa video! ask ko lng if ok bang i mention ko sa company na applyan ko na nagkaroon na ko ng BPO exp. pero hangang training lng di ko tinapos siguro mga 2 to 3 weeks lng ni ako nka about ng nesting , nag resign ako kasi feeling ko di ko nagegets yung sa training hirap ako mag catch-up nun, so naging excuse excuse ko yung health ( actually menta health) i need some piece of advice. Same ng account healthcare sobrang daming tools at kakabisaduhin , bawal kasi kmi mag dala ng notes dun.

    I've heard that one of the reasons that people leave quickly is because of the workplace culture. I've read forums claiming that the culture could be compared to a high school watering hole with wives and husbands cheating on their partners with their colleagues. Most workmates are said to be immature and unprofessional with their colleagues. I hope the rumors are false because I may be about to enter the industry.

      I suggest exploring jobs other than BPO companies because I am telling you if you are a type of person that seeks more educational growth or a career growth, you might be resigning immediately. The job in BPO is different from other jobs in the government or in the public sector. One thing I don't like about being a call center agent is you are stuck in one setting of environment-computers, headset and your chair. Most of the time you'll be sitting in front of your computer for 8 hrs shift. You'll be required to work at night shift schedule or at graveyard schedule or worse a shifting schedule which will affect your sleeping pattern. You cannot immediately file a leave of absence when you need to because it depends on your team's adherence. The salary isn't that great either. It's just a rumor. Worst is if you'll be working with an account which the majority of the clients are demanding, toxic and unprofessional. There's a stat or metrics you need to pass too. It's not just answering the calls and good bye. These are just a few. This job I have until now undeniably has just supported my family's needs, but did just isolate me to a real job that I really wanted to pursue and explore. So think and ask God's will that he may direct you to the path or a job that will make you happy and content and that was one thing I didn't do.

    Gusto ko itry yung bpo just to have an experience since I want to apply as VA. They say that there's a bigger chance to get a client if you're from bpo. Wish me luck ❤

    Pina pa punta ako sa main location kasi may offer sila sakin na Non voice, so ako naman nito pumunta pag dating doon tinanong ako kong anong account sinabi ko Non voice account tapos sabi sakin wala daw sila non voice ..
    Tapos yong nag interview sakin hnd niya masyado clear ang voice tapos bigla niyang pina stop yong online Asessment sabi niya .Hindi na daw ako e refer sa ibang account yong feeling sinasadya niyang hnd ako maka proceed.
    Bias lang kasi according sa direction kasi sasagutan yong online asessment sa walang nag istorbo but andon sila sa tabi ko ginugulo ako yong isa nag bibilang nag chichika..

    Kawawa tayong nasa BPO dahil sa mental and emotional struggles natin na hindi naman covered ng kahit anong HMO. Nasabihan pa ako na mas need ko daw magpunta sa psychiatric ward 😢

    Lately pinapraktis q tlaga how to apply call center and how to answer for the interview.. Alam q din na mahirap tlaga ang call center mrami din aq nlalaman na ngkakasakit dahil sa work na yan dhil super stress.. Pero sa kwento nu po maam ayaw q na mag apply sa bpo hehe kc sobrang madamdamin aq😁

    npaka risky sa health sabi ng DOH at sabi din mga doctor kaya malaki bigay kahit sa pinas lang..kya dito ginanap pinas kc una alam nila risky sa knila pangalawa mas mura bayad compare sa kanila .

    under health care din po ba course mo? meron din ba non-voice under health care sa Alorica? gusto ko kasi sana i-try ang BPO under health care pero wala akong experience. lahat po ba ng workshift is graveyard? thanks

    Members/Customers from the Health Insurance po ba ang tumatawag sa inyo sa naging account ninyo sa Alorica? I am on a different company po kasi ngayon and Healthcare account din ang hawak ko. Although, according sa trainer namin iyong work namin is exclusive only to health service providers which is mga doctors, nurses, etc. lang so hindi kami iyong sasalo ng tawag and concerns ng mga members so I was expecting na less irate calls ang maeexperience ko since basically puro professionals ang makakausap namin. Just wanna make sure po kasi I am trying to set expectations ngayon kaya ako nagsesearch ng mga vids dito sa YT.

    Sa healthcare din ako pero di ako tumagal kasi mahirap ang healthcare...Nagtataka nga ako sa ibang nagpopost about healthcare na easy account daw...Sabi ko sa sarili ko na siguro mahina lang ang utak ko kasi easy lang sa iba...Dagdagan pa ng mga support na di ka halos pinakikinggan kasi bisy din daw sila...Ayun nagdesisyon ako na magresign.

    1 month pa lang ako sa prod. (Telco account) pero di ko na alam kung kakayanin ko pa. Madaming tools, notes,cases, malala ang multi tasking. 5-7 customers sabay2 need iassist (chat support).Kapagod na talaga😪

      Hirap pa naman process ng telco. Naranasan ko din yan nung nasa tmob ako sa teletec. Gusto pa nila every 2 mins binabalikan lahat ng customers. Sobrang na overwhelmed ako nun. Ang mahirap kasi sa call center hindi nakikita ng iba yunf mental at emotional abuse na pinag dadaanan natin. Di tulad sa physical na madaling makita at pwede ka mag reklamo.

    Hello po! Kinakabahan ako kasi I am also diagnosed with mental illnesses and i feel na super okay ako ngayon kaya nag-apply na ako dito.. yung BPO company is new lang and marami ako naririnig na positive comments. tapos mukhang madali lang yung account. Excited talaga ako nung natanggap ako pero habang natagal parang lalo ako nadadown. idk why. kasi dati kong job is ESL and sobra ko naenjoy kaso need ko talaga magrest for aw hile...= napapaisip ako if tutuloy ako. magpapamedical na ako tomorrow tapos shoulder ng company :( what if bigla ako mag back out before ng starting date ko ? napapaisip ako kasi willing ako bayaran yung medical which is 750.

Healthcare account din ang ihahandle ko.pwde ko bang malaman kng anong healthcare/health insurance company from US ang hinahawakan ni alorica para ma research ko man lng kng meron.       Hi, I am currently working at Alorica, Healthcare Account. hindi madali ang healthcare account, madaming tools and process na gagawin bago mo matulungan si caller. hindi ka pwede basta basta mag release ng info and mag transfer ng call kase need mo muna na i validate and pull up ang accnt. grabe ang pressure sa healthcare lalo na kapag hindi makaintindi si CX lalo na sa mga Turn Around times and authorization.

      About sa account. One of the best ang Healthcare. Di siya ganon ka pressure super enjoy lang lalo na yung 6 months ko. Dabest yung mga Team & TMs sa Alorica by the bay. Yung LOB ko din super chill at andami kong natutunan na medical terms. Medjj maraming tools pero di naman mahirap inavigate - more on pang verify lang ng info.
      About Alorica. Medj ang panget ng Management at ang konti ng perks, so once na tumagal ka sa BPO malalaman mo na competitive ang mga company when it comes to salary & benefits. Bulok ang sistema. Magpapatagal lang talaga sayo yung account at yung mga tao sa paligid mo.
      PS. Waiting nalang sa 13th month then bounce na at hanap ibang company. Hopefully sa Healthcare padin na account.

    BPO is broad you should rather say customer service in BPO. BPO stands for Business Process Outsourcing ang mabibigay kong example dito ay nagttrabaho sa isang company like for example Alorica pero yung tinatrabaho mo e hindi galing sa Alorica but for a different company like for example in this video is a healthcare account.

      Yes it is, for me. I won't force myself to say na nag-enjoy ako, na masaya ako kahit hindi naman. If for the sake of content, sana nanghikayat pa ako lalo para kumita ako sa referral bonus, pero I did not. Kasi alam ko mismo sa sarili ko, nahirapan ako. I specifically said, na nasa tao sya, it's obviously not for me. I also mentioned na some of my friends okay naman sila, pero it's not the same for me. This is the reality. Not all people para sa BPO, stressful naman talaga sya especially sa mga emotional na tao. This is clearly not a motivational content, because sobrang hindi okay mental health ko nung nasa BPO ako and di ako magpapakahipokrita na mag-movitivate kung ako mismo hindi ko kinaya.

      No, it's NOT negative. These are FACTS. BPO Industry is not for everyone. Even BPO companies know this. They don't actually expect you to stay for very long. It's good for a quick cash gig, but not for a long-term prospect job. Only a special kind of people can survive permanently in this job. I've been working in FEW dept for 8+ Years, and while it was good at first, it just spiraled into an abyss of hell as the years go by. Things did not get better, it just became worse! I appreciate this lady giving out FACTS, so that people will not be disappointed when they go in there. They go in there knowing they are PREPARED. I myself is preparing for my exit from this company because the money is no longer worth the hassle for my mental health.

      It's not negative, it's a fact.. di mo hawak ang psychological aspect ng mga kausap mo.. di secure ang work sa bpo dahil performance base..and di ka God like para di magkamali.. Call center jobs are for those na walang choice in life. Depende if gusto mo talaga yung job.. pero in bpo industry it's not a healthy environment.
