Good review. Just helping with the YT algorithm. Oh, and if I didn’t already have a Pacifica I’d certainly check into it further. Really like the new Revstars. 🎸
A local store had a bunch of these and they all had buzzing here and there, especially on the high frets. But that was some time ago, and it's possible the store got them at a discount.
It took you some time to get that guitar in. I bought a TG530 from the same sale you posted and mine came in almost 4 weeks ago. I wonder if yours jumped around a lot between warehouses and shipping leading to the cracks? Mine arrived safely and looks and feels great. I was surprised by how good the fret ends were, very smooth on mine. So thank you for posting that deal. It's too bad yours did not arrive in the same perfect condition. And I agree it's a great guitar for $150, good even at $200+, but at $300 you're probably better off going with a different guitar. Have a good one Joe!
Based on you’re review which I trust-imo-I wouldn’t pay $150 for this Tagima. Again-we all know it could just be this guitar you received-but there are better values out there, again my opinion, than what you got. And I’ve been a “fan” of Tagima for 2-3years now. I’m guessing this one came from Indo or China not Brazil. Lol. Thanks for the review “AJ”. Always very helpful and informative. PS I got the White Indio Cali Classic the other day and it is amazing the tone, condition, and Setup it’s in. $77 + tax.😊🥁🎸👍
What's the difference between this model and the TG-530? the Fretboard material? Other? Why did you choose the 500 over the 530, pls? Still on 'sale' at Pitbull, along with those Art & Lutherie "Natural EQ" models.
The 530 has a gloss neck and headstock, the 500 does not. Also, the 530 is suppose to include a Setup from Pitbull while the 500 does not. If you sign up for the text notifications you can save another $10 bringing the price down to $139.99. You have to look for the discount though - it's under Rewards Points.
I ordered 2 guitars when they went on sale last month. A cort with EMG 57/66 that came with rough, oxidised fretwires, and the volume pot wouldn't roll down all the way. That went right back without even getting plugged in. The other was a Dean ExileX with Floyd Rose specials. That seemed good, but required a setup. I do my own setups and liked the challenge of setting up a FR, so I kept it since the rest of the guitar seemed fine. And earlier this week, the neck pickup died on that one. Now I am not sure what I want to do with it. It is probably a simple soldering job, or I could just rip out and replace the pickups ..or send it right back. All said and done, these guitars are on a deal for a reason; luck of the draw I guess.
im from mexico and a squier affinity is more expensive than this tagima tg 500, i heard from another guy that if your gonna buy a affinity it's probably better pick up one of these tagima tg 500, cheaper, good, i dont know but it seems to be at the same level of a affinity or maybe over it.
PERSONAL OPINION: I’m surprised by the defects and the quality of the hardware on this guitar. Workmanship defects notwithstanding, I’d still say even the lowly IYV IS-200 is a better guitar at that price point.

Nice review. I like that you list the positive with the negative

Looks and sounds great. Reminds me of my Cali Classic which is Wine Red.
Sou do Brasil,e a Tagima está vendendo otimos produtos, inclusive baixos, eu comprei um Tw 65 woodstock series. Muito bom
I bought a 500 but I find the screws a too high that it cuts into the heel of your hand.
