The little white piece that you questioned it's use is for letting the water out of the pool. You have a plug that opens, and that white piece attaches to the pool and then a hose, which will direct the water away frim your home.

I have the same pump, same 2 return hoses but I have a skimmer. It’s been fine for years but I switched up the hoses and now I don’t know the right way. So I have one on the pump which is connected to the connector that lets the water in the pool, the pump hose is connected to the shut off T, I have the 2 hoses from return, plus the skimmer hose, I have another T joint and one extra hose. Can someone help please I’m going crazy trying to remember which T joint was the skimmer connected to. The pump is correct it’s the return hoses and skimmer that I’m confused about thank you

You remind me of myself all excited when I erect a new pool. I live for the water. Prefer the ocean but I'll settle fir a pool. One minor critique: those 3 black hat deals...those are meant to be used inside when everything is assembled. You can use screw the guards off of the outlet and inlet hoses (2 out, 1 in) and then snap those over the circular out/in flows which allows you to disconnect your hoses, filter and all without losing water. Attempting to do this from the outside is a guaranteed loss of water, plus the pressure of the water would inevitably blow those rightboff and your pool would be just half full within am hour or so. The pool hemorrhages water quickly if all 3 are open but I don't have to sag do. You already know. I actually have a 14x42 that I'm going to adapt this filter to as the 1000 gal/hr is not available. I had to see the setup, so I get it right. Thanks for the info!
REALLY ... the DIRTY (possibly debris filled) water through the PUMP, BEFORE the FILTER ! ! ! this seems TOTALLY BACKWARDS and WILL KILL THE PUMP FASTER. You'd think logically that filtering the water before running it through the pump would be wise, and you would know when to CLEAN the filter when the water flow was diminished !
The part you weren’t familiar with I think is for draining the pool. You should be able to threat a garden hose to it so you can run your potentially salty water away from your yard.
Good video but so people don’t get confused. What you are calling the “outlet” is the opposite. basically when you say outlet it means inlet and inlet means outlet bc the flow is to be described for the pump not the pool. This might confuse some people.
Help my pump is not sucking in water pressure or releasing it. Pretty much is Not a pump😞☹️ any help of why is just making a low sound when is on but the hoses don’t pump the water in thru.. anybody out there that can guide me.

I have never used a sand filter, but my daughter had one and loved it. This pump is a little light for the pool, ours broke after one season and we bought a more powerful one.

you messed me up good when u said the outlet was the inlet then reversed it when u started to assemble. i'M STILL CONFUSED WHICH IS THE INLET!!
after the install, did you go back and add a ball valve to shut the water off from the pool so you can remove the filter for the winter?
You skipped the only difficult part of the assembly, which is clearing the air and turning the pump on. Just wasted 15 minutes of my life

That part is for draining the pool, you stick it in The drain hole and screw a hose to it. So the water isn’t near the pool or house etc.

That white device is for draining the pool if you want to winterize it.
