NOTES about the Intex 1500 gpm Filter Pump:
-This pump comes with a outlet (where clean water comes out, shown in the video) but it DOES NOT come with an inlet strainer (where "dirty" water travels from the pool to the filter pump). You will need to buy a strainer assembly if you're installing this on a stock tank pool (see links above). Above ground pools generally have a strainer assembly built-in which the pump hose will attach to.
-This pump works for pools up to 9,400 gallons. If you're installing on an 8' stock tank (700 gal), you only need to run it for 2 hours per day (set the included timer to "2") to keep it clean.
-The included cord is about 20' feet long. Plan for extension cords accordingly.
-Be very careful about the hose and pumps connections, the O-rings can be easy to displace and if you lose or damage one you'll end up with leaks.

Hello......I was wondering if this pump can be run with solar. What are your thoughts about using solar to run pumps as well as to heat the pool (10 ft stock tank)?

What do you add to treat the water? Chlorine? Can you use salt?

No rust or leaks! They're built for farms and livestock so they're heavy duty. The metal is galvanized with a zinc coating to prevent rust.

@@mindoj.natale1813 the metal won't get any warmer than the water that's in the tank. Keep it full and you'll be fine👌
@@stocktankpools4980 another question. Does a steel stock tank pool need to be bonded? Pump will be on GFCI but wondering if it should also be bonded. I mean water and metal are pretty good conductors of electricity.

What would you recommend using for a small 300 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank? If this...would we follow the same procedure for the Rubbermaid heavy duty stock tank?
I just was thinking the same thing. We just purchased the 300gal Rubbermaid ourselves.
Randy Madan we bought the same filter he used. Works great, We have to figure out why there’s air bubbling in the lines now. Here’s the thing though, we had to take a file and file down the plastic lock nut because the poly tank is actually 3/8” which is thicker than his stock tank. But it worked.

I have this pump and dangle the hoses over the top but cannot get suction. Got it to work last year but can’t this year. Any suggestions???

In the pump-install video, you said that your first pump was too loud, so you changed it for a second, which was quieter. Which is which?
Ryan , how big is that tank? Im having trouble sourcing an 8', but have been gifted a 6'8" tank. do you think the curvature of a smaller tank will make getting a seal difficult? So glad you linked to the bestway inlet - the intex ones are sold out - but you also provided the replacemnet workaround, thank you very much!
John Fisher this is an 8’ tank! I think the curvature of a 6’ 8” will be fine. People have installed these pumps on 6’ tanks without an issue. Just be sure to tighten the strainer nuts as much as you can (by hand only, no tools). If it doesn’t seal, then drain the tank, remove the fittings, and apply a bead of silicone on the metal-facing side of the rubber washer then tighten it so silicone squeezes out like a peanut butter sandwich 🥪 😬 Then it should definitely be sealed. I sent an email to Intex asking before I might have to send the pump back, but my timer doesn’t seem to be working. I just installed mine on Monday and set the timer for 2hrs but the pump didn’t shut off after 2hrs. I tried again Tuesday(yesterday) and nope. I have the same pump, Intext 1500gph 635T. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Jovie Rialubin it depends, I believe it’s compatible with Bestway pools which are designed for the 1.5” hoses (not 1.25”).
Oh I see!, Im not really familiar with the sizes and I was really planning to buy this pump, Im glad I came across your video. By the way the pool size is 400mx200mx81cm. Any suggestion you have to make it work for my pool? Dirt seems to build up quickly 😔

I have not tried the sand filter, but I've heard good things. I may try one next summer.
@@stocktankpools4980 Do you have to do anything different to the set up if you use the sand pump? and are they any other pumps that you can use that are NOT Intex but do have the same measurements? so I don't have to buy new valves, drill hole, etc?
Does the jet connect to filter or pump?? The manual in the instruction book is weird...
Why doesn't Index include the inlet?! Because of their stupidity they lost my business. Why buy the pump if it is such a hassle to find the parts, the wait time, and not even knowing if everything is included or will fit? Seriously, both Index AND Bestway do not have inlets available. Index should have included two gaskets for the outlet: one for inside the tank and one for the outside. They should have included the plunger valve. What a waste of time. Index's and Bestway's customer service departments are down and are taking no calls. Useless.
Can one use the pool with the motor running?

Comes with a filter. I have one for since August 2019 ($89.95) and now I'm buying one again $205 UGH!!
Where are you plugging in the pump? Other comments say an extension cord pops the GFI so where was your outlet for your electricity?

I have this model it seems like I lose water pressure a minute or 2 after i turn on the pump goes from high pressing to slow trickle...I’ve cleaned it out not sure what else to do
Does it make any difference which ends of the hose are connected to the pumps?

Hi. We have a 10ft prism intex above ground pool with no pump. Our friends have the 1500 gph krystal clear filter and are willing to give it to us for free . Is there any any way we can make them work together? Pleaseet me know
Were you able to make it work? I guess you needed the index B adapters so you can have the same inlet/outlet from the pool converted to the bigger ones that the pump needs to work with.
Have you made the follow up video? Does the pump need to be lower than the pool?
Our pump has sat at the same level as our cowboy pool (stock tank) for years now. No problem.
