Me starting playing AC: NL in 2023: OK
As an New Leaf veteran player, i can say this is the fastest and easiest way to get bells in NL.
At 5 pm the beetles start appearing, but they appear more frequently starting 7 pm.
I found if you only want beetles on palm trees to spawn (and hermit crabs + wharf roaches), you have to chop down all the trees in the middle and fill the green area up completely with holes.(This limits the variety of bugs you can get but increases the likely hood of valuable beetles to spawn) This however will make you island look like junk (and increase the likely hood of hermit crabs and wharf roaches to spawn), so do it if you're not expecting to have friends at your island.
Why is there so many comments about skipping kappn’s song?

I just start playing New Leaf again after two years of not playing, before I was always hogging things and everything I couldn’t fit into my inventory I stacked up on the beach. I’m currently working on selling literally everything it’s as if the beach was polluted lol
I do the island method 1-2 times a day. I don’t like changing my ordinance, I keep my ordinance to the ordinance where it keeps your town clean and no roaches, less weeds and no watering flowers. I like to get rid of everything in the middle of the island to reduce bugs to spawn and more likely chance for expensive bugs to spawns. I don’t find getting rid of the trees around the sand is a good idea, yes the corners are hard to cut to not scare the bugs but you press a and then it doesn’t scare them since your sneaking. I find only grabbing the net is good because once you’ve equipped it, your inventory is completely empty and makes it so you only do 3 trips back and forth putting bugs into the basket and catching them, repeat. Finally, I think you didn’t catch the ‘golden stag’ in the start because you went too close and you moved quite fast.. I think the rarer and more expensive the bug, the harder to catch. I tested this with the ‘goliath beetle’. I’ve noticed you’re able to go closer to it and move faster around it before it flying away, while the golden stag is different. The goliath beetle is way more common that’s why there easier to catch + sell for less. This is how I think when going to the island, not saying your method is bad but the middle trees are definitely unnecessary, please cut them down. A sure fire way to catch golden stags and horned Hercules is to move when they move. So sneak up on them when they are moving but when they stop moving or slow down, stop moving too and i guarantee you that 99.9% of the time you will catch them :D

Massive thanks for the suggestion to clear away the trees and flowers. I’d be at it for hours trying to find a rare bug, but this process reduced it significantly. Thanks so much! :D

this is my fav method tbh, i dont use the bell ordinance because i have way too many flowers and dont want them wilting so i use the beautiful island one (dk what its called in new leaf) but i still do make a ton of bells. but i would suggest removing everything from the centre part and only focus on the rare beetles that spawn on the palm trees
My Recommendation is to plant more palm trees (With bananas) at angles you can catch bugs, because the palm trees usually have the valuable bugs

Just cut down all trees don't cut down palm trees because worthless beetles will take over cut down the trees only

Noel Santiago Don't forget the scarab beetle, which is around 7,200 bells with the bell boom ordinance. The golden stag is actually fairly common, and it does not sell for 15,000. (Less than that, close to it if you have the bell boom ordinance.) The horned elephant and the golden stag sell for about the same, and the rainbow stag sells for about 10,000.

I think you can get it on your third day into the game, on day two Tortimer appears on your dock.
You can get bugs during the day, but certain bugs only appear in the evening :(

You can skip the singing. Just smash all for 4 keys on the right and he will stop.

Yep do island tours and collect bananas and then plant them when u get back

Yeah it works with any Palm Trees for the expensive bugs.
i’m fairly new to animal crossing and this really is going to be helping me! it’s kind of hard to get a lot of bells at a time compared to new horizons, so this was essentially the same, except the game just coddled you less and didn’t give you powers of a god lol. great video :)

Only cut the bottom two and where there's grass cut all the trees and bushes in that area cause it can spawn unwanted bugs.

Miyama stag is only worth 1.3k without ordinance. I only leave up 1 tree in the middle for the off change it spawns a rainbow stag or the other rare one (name escapes me) worth 10k+

I think this makes it a little to easy tough. I can buy expensions and public work projects almots every day. This way my fun won't last long in game
