The 2020 Ford Edge ST is the first ST crossover. I personally find it a strange place to debut the ST badge as the Edge is a midsize two-row SUV that is really starting to show its age. Despite the updates for the 2020 model year, the Ford Edge is hard pressed against many new competitors in this class. Now that there's a 'performance' model of the Edge, Ford is going to have to quite a bit for this ST to prove itself. My video reveals all my thoughts towards this crossover so watch and enjoy!

Just to be clear, I'm not a hater of sporty SUVs, I'm against poorly executed performance SUVs. I do have some hope that the ST nameplate will be more meaningful on the upcoming ST crossovers Ford inevitably has planned
My 2024 Edge St is awesome.
I have an edge ST and it’s awesome. I run 94 octane and she rips off the line. 🍻🇨🇦
Honestly, it sounds like you took the two worst reviews and put them together. I am currently leasing a 2020 edge ST with all the extras. Been driving it for two months - have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It handles well on the highway and (NYC) streets. Keep in mind, it’s an SUV not a sports car. In my view it did earn the ST badge. Side note the blazer is sexy but at the end of the day, it’s a Chevy.
I have a 2020 Edge ST. Mine is quick, nimble and absolutely fun to drive. So much so that I'm wondering if we're talking about the same vehicle.
Looking at this exact car. It’s funny because I had a first gen Focus ST and thought the interior was really well done, I think it was a 2016? 2018 maybe? Regardless, same interior design as this Edge minus leather Riccaro seats, and I really enjoyed it with the focus. I just looked at a 2022 Edge ST and was totally impressed with it, so much so I thought it was almost too nice for what I need, essentially something big enough to cart my drum kit around and AWD. Given I work 2 minutes from my house I really don’t need something that nice, and costly, so I figure this 2020 version which is almost 10k less than the 22 (but with 40k more miles) is right where I’d like to be… something with some nice features such as heated/cooled leather gripper seats, BT CarPlay, heated steering wheel? Maybe, really doesn’t matter, panoramic roof, upgraded sound system, 8 stage memory seats, etc. and to boot, and enhanced driving experience, a nice boosted engine for when I want to get on it. Idk, this guy seems to be focusing on all negatives but isn’t talking about any of the positives other than the fact that it is certainly built well and the interior rubberized door handles feel great, too. For someone like me coming from a 2018 Civic Si that enjoys a sporty car but needs more cabin space, I think this is a great vehicle and offers more than I actually need. Is this the finest execution in comparison? Maybe not but it’s certainly a nice car and fits the bill for me... but I’m not comparing every car on the market nor do I need.
I think you've been driving more expensive cars. BUT I do agree with the paddle shifters....I havent taken my 2020 ST out for a real road test, I think the paddles will work better at faster speeds. I heard this ST is the mustang of SUVs. what do you think?
Looking at this exact car. Not thrilled about this color but whatever. It’s funny because I had a first gen Focus ST3 and thought the interior was really well done, I think it was a 2016? 2018 maybe? Regardless, same interior design as this Edge (except it had leather Riccaro seats) and I really enjoyed it with the focus. I just looked at a 2022 Edge ST premium or whatever and I was totally impressed with it, so much so I thought it was almost too nice for what I need, which is essentially something big enough to cart my drum kit around and AWD. I work 2 minutes from my house so I really don’t need something that nice, and costly, unless I’m trying to flex, so I figure this 2020 version which costs 10k less than the 22 (but with 40k more miles) is right where I’d like to be… something with some nice features such as heated/cooled leather gripper seats, BT CarPlay, heated steering wheel? Maybe, really doesn’t matter, panoramic roof, upgraded sound system, 8 stage memory seats, etc. and to boot, and enhanced driving experience, a nice boosted engine for when I want to get on it… which is from what I can see, more than what most SUV’s offer in this price range.
Idk, I feel like this guy may be focusing too much on negatives but isn’t talking about much of the positives other than the fact that it is certainly well built and the interior rubberized door handles feel great, too. So it really feels nice when you shut the heavy door. To be fair, I’m sure there are plenty of things Ford could have done better and no it’s definitely not the performance machine the small and nimble Focus and Fiestas are but I’m not expecting it to be but for someone like me, who’s coming from a 2018 Civic Si, that enjoys a sporty car but needs more cabin space, I think this is a great option and offers more than I actually need. Is this the finest execution in comparison? Probably not, but it’s certainly a nice car and fits the bill for what I need and then some... but I’m not comparing it to every car on the market nor do I need to. I’m just happy Ford offers this as an option and the new models are even nicer. All in all, nice review and can appreciate the insight. Cheers
So do you prefer this or the blazer RS?
I'd take the Chevy as it feels so much newer and worth the money. The one I reviewed wasn't perfect but it felt like a modern and well-executed product
@@maxlandireviews the blazer rs is nothing compared to the Edge St. It is a wimpy piece of crap. Don't wast your time
Appreciate the honesty here Max. I was also incredibly underwhelmed with this when I was test driving it for my mother. Ford but they really need to refresh/new generation the Edge like now. The use of the ST badge on these huge, heavy suvs is more an oxymoron and a play on marketing. They ride so much harsher too. Engine can't move the weight as well as it should. This whole class of vehicle is very underwhelming and would not buy any of them. Ford needs to figure out how to make nicer interiors as well to be competitive
Weirdly, this is one of the only times I've reviewed a new car and saw multiple examples on the road. I tried to track down the drovers to hear their thoughts, but no victory there I'm ashamed to say
Great video, sadly we don't get this in the UK
At least this edge is better than the buick suv
Good job 👍
Horrible job! Dummy!
Lol what is a ST well it's a ford focus or festiva that weights 2500 to 3000lbs
.......... i think its kool I'll buy one and hook it up with bigger intercooler ,tune, cool airintake lowering kit, down pipes, catch can and bov that should give it around 425 to 450 horse power ..... that should keep up with most vehicles
Guys like you should not be doing reviews with your biased opinions you only like certain manufacturers, and have a lot of nativity towards certain brands, I don't want to hear your opinions I just want the information about the vehicle, and I will decide if I like it on my own and what are your qualifications to rate these cars any way
Great comment! I just bought a 2024 Edge ST and it is awesome! Got the performance brake and tire package and this thing handles like a sports car!
Idk man, this seems like a picky review. I've been in the market for one, and the test drove a few and get what you're saying, but at the same time, you're not driving a Porsche or Mercedes 😂. Keep that in mind.
