I have one of these. A 2021 Touring. It is huge on the inside and Scotty’s not kidding about the ride and handling. Handles very very well for a big vehicle. Only two issues with it. First, I’m only averaging 21 mpg, which is expensive with $6 gas. Second, it wants to be driven fast. It’s like the car gets bored if you don’t drive it fast. So you can easily get a speeding ticket without even realizing how fast you’re going.

People always complain about timing belts, but OEM timing belts last well over 120k miles. Its also quieter. Contrary to popular belief, timing chains can wear overtime and can be damaged if Oil change intervals are bad, they also cost more to replace. Timing belts isnt a problem because its the same time water pumps and spark plugs should be changed.

I bought a 2023 Passport Elite. I like the fact that it has a real normally aspirated V6 and not a turbo'd 4 banger, a real transmission with steel gears and not a rubber band CVT, and is full time AWD. I did swap out the low profile tires for bigger All Season/All Terrain tires to handle weather, snow, and terrain better. It is by no means a 4x4 trail buster but will handle pretty much anything that the average driver will ever subject it to. The Honda J35Y engine is proven solid engineering coupled with the proven 9 speed trans. The Pilot is pretty much the same vehicle but with 3 rows. I didn't need or want the 3rd row.

The Honda Passport is very quiet. They went as far as designing sound dampening 20" rims and they are quieter than 18" rims with Grand Touring tires. If you don't replace the 5" infotainment screen (with an aftermarket stereo) there are many, many features to enable and disable, like 3 back up camera views, rear cross traffic monitoring, and what the locks do when you approach or leave the vehicle. I guess this owner set the settings to their liking, before they swapped the infotainment system?
If you go to Honda America you can order a free 600+ page Owners Manual, within the 1st year.

Yes but low profile tires have a disadvantage, if you have 17 or 18 inch tires the sidewall tends to be high enough if you into a curb just scrubs the rubber. I bought a old GMC Yukon and put bf Goodrich K02 tires and that really went through snow and mud like crazy. Then fuel prices got higher and then it broke down. Now thankfully I have a hybrid and much better but miss the room and awd

She’s was supposed get a new car January but Honda e-mailed all managers there is hold on ordering vehicles for employees and keep what you got for the time being Due to supply of cars. the whole package, timing belt, tensioner, spark plugs, water pump and related gaskets + labor: $2,200 at the Honda dealer! but, use OEM parts because an aftermarket tensioner can go bad and destroy the J35. some folks with the redesigned 2023 V6 are having trouble already so a 25+ year old design is not so bad after all!
