Huge thanks to Cheruiyot for making this race possible, revolutionizing the 1500 by actually running 1500m instead of jogging 3 laps and sprinting 1.
Thanks to him, all the big dogs in the current era have had to learn to not be afraid to lead in order to be medal contenders. It's a great time to be a fan of distance running.

The project "The Ingebrigtsen Family" has been a real success. With a father with no trainer experience, starts with Henrik Ingebrigtsen as a trial case. As the father was seeking knowledge from the experts on training, applying it on Filip Ingebrigtsen, a better and faster runner with less injuries was formed. It culminates with Jacob whose result came clear today. This is a "family worked out" project for which we should expect more revolutionary results. And there are more kids in the family. LOL

You don't magically outrun someone who is since eons genetically predispositioned to excell in running and not even look exhausted.
Staying silent about or trying to apologize the shockingly widespread reality of sytematic doping means being complicit in fraud. Nobody's ego or greed for success is above honesty and justice.

@@TheGreenestGreen99 Stop calling clean athletes cheaters and accuse them for something they have never done. Is it jealousy or whats your problem?
You talk as if he has broken the rules or been busted for something or has worked with suspicious doctors (as some idiots who has no moral does)…so stop accusing someone clean who works hard for it and discredit his achievements just because other athlethes from certain nations, are stupid enough to do drugs and take short cuts to get some fake glory. Shouldnt clean athletes be celebrated instead of being accused for something they have never done?
As I said, Norway’s anti-doping system is thorough and they get tested a lot (about 20 times a year, also many times out of competition). Ingebrigtsen has been a huge talent since he was 11. It isnt as if he has suddenly become a good runner. The only crime he has done is having a talent and train hours after hours day and night to become the best.
I feel sorry for people like you, who obviously has paranoia and think every athlete in the world who is winning is a doper BUT I feel more sorry for clean athletes who has to answer to people like you, and instead of celebrate their achievements are accused of something they would never do. What you indirectly say is that no child should have a dream or goal to be the best in the world, cause if you achieve your goal through hard training, you get accused of being a doper. People like you make my angry…actually furious.
if you were accused of something illegal you havent done and you have worked qll your life to achieve that goal….you would think its fair to be called a cheater? Yeah, right. 🙄 Its fine for you to be arrested for something you havent done to? Stop tarneshing clean athletes. Why do you even watch sports at all? You probably celebrate athlethes from your own country when they win medals, but acuse others doing the same for being cheaters…
Where are you from? Of course you have no info in your profile… You are one of those anonymous internet trolls who throw around accusations left and right.

      @@In_my_own_mind Chill down please, dear.
It doesn't matter where i'm from because i'm a human being from planet Earth. But to satisfy your curiosity i'm from Germany, where systemic doping in our country and worldwide has been exposed by many whistle blowers. And no, i don't celebrate because of national sentiments, esp. not obvious cheaters. I was in sports for a long time myself, but now that i am aware what's going on behind the scenes i am just ashamed of its hypocrisy. I'm more concerned with the state of humanity and planet Earth in need. Actually your honest, loyal dog is way more important than this Olympic farce of "citius, altius, fortius" that doesn't solve any problems.
It is absolutely no secret at all that this ego- and businessdriven show, circus and wannabe-sports, a substitute for warfare and religion, is dirty since many decades!
You may not be aware and naively gullible, but the evidence is overwhelming. The majority of athletes dope because the winner takes it all, writes history and gets huge financial benefits via sponsors and advertizing contracts, the rest is faster forgotten as they ever could run. So they feel forced to dope up also being able to compete, because they too work hard but are overshadowed by cheaters that not always but most often get away with it. Or doping was for a very long time and partially still is imposed by the state as a means of politically motivated demonstration of power and superiority
How do you know that your wannabe miraculously "all natural super hero wonderboys" are allegedly clean? When most odds speak against them?
It is clear that you need or want to believe in miracles. Or you judge by your own moral standards and want to believe in honesty and fairness, that is commendable, but unfortunately this is not how this lying, greedy and selfish world works.
Or why is it that that while i write this little message alone millions of people in their privileged comfort zones sit unbothered in front of their TVs and smartphones - that too involve child labor and exploitation - watching hyped up people run, jump, beat each other bloody or cheer overpaid millionaires kicking against a ball for their superficial entertainment, while dozens of betrayed innocent little children have again died of hunger and poverty!?
You think i'm disrespectful for being honest about the sad reality? Selling out for examaple these thousands of hungry, suffering little children dying each and every day, not helping them even with the essentials when this exploited world - among others in climatic crisis and experiencing species mass extinction - is abundant and rich enough for all of us, when not even willing to give to their human needs, dignity and hopeless eyes filled with tears and despair a tiny fraction of the attention, valuation and respect that is given to those who want ever more and can't get enough, willing to cheat their way up to please their spectators, their ever unsatiable, boasted egos and never-ending worldly desires.. THAT is disrespectful, shameless, foolish, merciless and meaningless!

What has happened in Norway??!! Karsten’s unbelievable 400 hurdles and this. amazing congrats. Love the content on this channel.
world records and worlds firsts came in droves after a worldwide pandemic does not surprise me….. people are born fighters in many different ways. Long live the resistance! Yep that was corny but are we not overcoming or fighting something everyday. Ah, You know what I’m trying to say.
Youth all over the world are inspired by these athletes. Every Olympic Games young girls and boys are attempting flips and cartwheels in their yard, racing their bikes, having their own foot race, or soccer match……it’s great. I remember being amazed watching Carl Lewis, Edwin Moses, Flo Jo, Mary Lou Retton, Greg Louganis, on and on when I was a little boy. Haven’t missed watching summer or winter Olympic Games since. They are special and so are the records. Along with each athlete’s talent there’s a huge amount of hard work and mental toughness that inspires when you get to see them stand on the podium. Something I’ve noticed isn’t always included in the last few televised games but on certain formats…..that’s a shame. Not quite the same searching for the medal ceremony of an event you just watched. At least they have not done away with it yet. Should we not celebrate the country the athlete represents? Hope that never changes.
I’m commenting late on this one but for the gold medal winner he will still be getting love for this performance for years to come.
    Congratulations Jakob Ingebrigtsen!

This ingebritsen dude never dissapoints in all these years... just unreal, he has all records under the age 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 in europe, and now at the age of 20 destroying this field at the olympics. Honestly amazing.

During Hicham El Guerrouj's mile world record, his 1500 meter split was 3:28.21, showing how vastly ahead he was compared to modern-day athletes. Jakob is still young, though, and I feel like he can beat this world record.

He'll take the 1500 world record later this year. Next year goes 5000 meter world record. Proud to be a Norwegian. 🇧🇻

Always appreciate your videos. It's unreal how NBC gives these athlete no context in their videos.

It's amazing when you compare the times of the last Olympic's 1500m winner to this year's. It's like everyone agreed to go out hard and not have a repeat of 2016

Remember that the olympic final from 2016 had a time that is barely faster than the womens world record. A time that alot of US high school kids can run. They should have given those finalists lead medals for not doing an honest effort.

Without his ending race celebration, maybe he could have run under 3:28

Can you do a video about Sifan’s amazing triple? Even though she didn’t get 3 golds - 2 golds and 1 bronze is probably one of the most amazing distance performances I’ve seen.

Emil Zatopek is the only person to top it. Golds in 5000m, 10000m and marathon in the 1952 Olympics. Unreal.
