It was an incredible run by Josh and he proved himself the best in the world on the day it matters, but we should be careful in comparing times (especially in 1500m and above due to the exponential effect on return of energy given) from performances from different eras. Ingebrigtsen is the fastest in the world at the moment so going for a fast time is a good strategy.

Being the fastest in the world going into the race doesnt count for much, this is championship racing and twice now in the 1500 he has tasted defeat, i think because when running a true run race , he cracks just a bit, ... KH was fastest going into 800 and came away with silver and is focused on gold but has more respect for herself and does not make excuses, also very respectful of the other athletes, jacob could try that, he is a great runner, but comes across as arrogant and then when defeated trots out same old , im not feeling great, but okay i can still win the 5000 not at full throttle, that was my disappointment, would loved for Katir to have won, oh and did not here Katir making excuses

The runners attitude when the camera tracks past them before the race is hilarious. You would've thought they were in the WWE.

I don't think this guy has any idea how he ran the perfect race! He was on the hot favourite's shoulder from not 400 - but 600 m out. He never gave up that position and given Wightman's success last year and the fact that Jacob never shook him off, it ate into into his soul and Josh's bigger heart, having never won anything as big as what Jacob had often took for granted took him over the line.

Kerr and Wightman are different people to me. One of them is humble.

That man from Edinburgh, Scotland wiping out the so called invincible favourite from Norway. We Scots love a challenge . That's what I love to see. 😊

Excellent Kerr race similar to Wightman's last year. I don't understand the Kenyan athlete who 'pulls' the first lap in 56': tactically playing Ingebrigtsen's game ...

Poor comment regarding Coe not winning the world Champs. He could have given a bit of background information ie.They were not even invented until 1983. Prior to that there was a different event called the IAAF World Cup in which Coe did win the 800 metres Gold Medal and Ovett won the 1500 metres.
