What an interesting and educational video of bottom painting a big Steel Trawler! That voice that narrates is so mesmerizing I could listen to that man for hours! Even the music was evoking emotion to this video...What an exceptionally beautiful boat!
No additional steel was required and the owner has an audiogauge which has this information along with additional details. Please find links below our video. Thanks for watching.
The Elizabeth Ruth really is a great ship! She is magnificent and with her incredible 8,000 mile range..she can go anywhere! Thank you for your comment.
Nice paint job done right. That trawler is a great value at $559K. It is a perfect ship for an owner who is educated in mechanical systems and willing to do a lot of their own maintenance and mechanicals. (Me!). She's not a hands-off luxury yacht by any stretch. I didn't see a lick of fiberglas on a tour video, only hardwood and steel. If my wife loved boats/ships I'd be first in line. But alas, I love her more than boats......so after 40 years of boat ownership we are now confirmed landlubbers.
Out of the water 3 years prior?? Far too long, and have anybody noticed the zinc anodes all gone and allowing damage to the steel plating. I owned two steel trawlers and once or 2 times a year we took them out of the water for a repaint and inspection.
There is a walk thru video that shows her interior has been completely done beautifully prior to the bottom paint. Have a look at it on our channel. She is really something and worth watching the other video showing the interior walk thru. Thank you for commenting.
A restoration is something where you take the thing apart, throw out all the trash and the equipment and rebuild it from the ground up. This is a repaint. Not more. Clickbait.
No, you’re wrong. Restoration is defined as: “The act or process of returning something to its former condition.” I’m not sure how many “repaints” you’ve done, but I doubt to many of them included 12,000lbs. of blast material and filters which had semi-trucked in. This was in-fact a restoration. Thanks for watching!
One of the best trawlers ive seen . Interior is personal taste but outside of that this is perfect .
Glad you like it! She is an incredible vessel.

Thank you very much!
Did they add additional steel on the bottom? How thick is the hull?

Wow!
The guy talking has a great voice for the history channel/movies and work place training videos
Thank you for that great compliment, he does voice overs as well as being an accomplished musician. We were happy to get his contribution.
Ah ! The soundtrack of mr LaBeast not quite winning his incredible challenges. TH-cams finest.
🤔 I'm not entirely sure I know what that means! But I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!
Does anyone know the weight of this vessel?
Gross Tonnage is 49, thank you for a great question! She is built like a BEAST!

He regularly replaced the Zincs. Thanks for watching.
Yeah 3 years is way too long and they didn't put enough zinc's back on it
What kind of baloney is this???? They did a bottom job and NOT a restoration. Geeeez, get real.
