I like it, I’m shocked no desalination device. Spending that much time on the water without a fresh water maker seems unusual to say the least. They have done so much work I can’t comprehend not adding it.
I love how the owner gives this tour. I can tell he has lived onboard, and points out details that may seem small but make a big difference such as a walk-around main birth.

The fella didn’t go cheap. The only change I’d make is a modern day passage maker engine room. It just seems to me, there was to much hanging all over the engine room. However, the owner does know his engine room.
I worked on a 86 foot power scow king crab fishing out of Kodiak in the mid 70’s. It had a single reliable Cat diesel. I love the trawler and power scow style.
Thank you and we totally agree! This one is a long hauler with 8,000 mile range...I mean it does not get better then that for a Bering Sea capable vessel! Thanks for watching.

Very cool boat and great video. Some constructive criticism for future videos: an uncut walk through below decks would be very helpful for understanding the layout. An uncut on-deck walk though would be nice as well, but not quite as important. Learning the Lines does that and it's one of the best parts of their channel.

This a beautiful boat. A little clostrophobic spelling wrong oops. But it works. I think the rebuild is worth more than the boat. I need to hit the lottery
I’d be interested in her average dollar per 100 miles at current prices. I’m sure the captain would be ready with that information. No one is rich enough to be chugging around in all that ship willy nilly. Thanks for sharing 🎉
To charter a vessel in this range is not even comparable. She is very reasonable to run at her size in style. 5 and a half gallons at 8 knots is excellent for this vessel. Thanks for watching.
I dont like the interior with all the mismatched woods but as someone put it below, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's very personalized and not for everyone (like me). No doubt it has been very well maintained, the owner is clearly on top of everything with his vessel. I have a good amount of experience with vessels and my biggest concern with this one would be stability. 74' length and only a 15' beam leads to a very rolling ride without active stabilizers. Maybe the deep chine and long keel help but most 74' vessels have a wider beam. The other big negative is having to go up and down ladders to so many spaces. Other than access to the main cabin there are minimal interior stairs. You can buy a refitted 80's Hatteras in the 60' range with much easier interior access and livability for the same or less. Interesting vessel though. The owners sure have loved her but it's going to take someone with a very similar specific vision to buy it. It's not a vessel the majority of the market would be interested in but it only takes one. Thanks for the well done tour.
This one is quite special, an Ed Monk design and he was known for excellence! This is a very stable vessel designed for the Bering Sea! Deep hull, very heavy weight and centered perfectly. Been on it and she runs like a dream! 8,000 mile range and extra tanks are right there not used currently for more miles then that if desired! She has been extensively sailed! She was planned for use in the toughest marine environment on earth! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the compliment. She is currently available with some inquiries coming in now. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. She is an amazing vessel!
I have to say with an 8,000 mile range and an owner captain who has done charters and she has been lead boat for events? She can earn a bit of money for the right buyer. Yes you do need substantial cash to buy and maintain this beauty for sure. Thank you for commenting.
I am close to being a CPA (up late studying) and the girl I live with is a certified safety manager. We both average about $125,000 per year in income. The boat is ~$560,000 so we could afford it as many Americans have houses much more expensive than this boat. My house is paid off. However, the problem is the Time, Energy, Money formula. Young people generally have the time and energy. Middle aged people generally have the money and energy. While older people often have the money and time. This boat would be ideal for older people. They could retire to a smaller house located in a cheaper area and buy and operate this boat. They could live on the boat for decent parts of the year. For me this boat would be too large. I'd rather have a newer 23-to-31-foot Ruger tug. The price range for one of these "tugs" (not really a "tug" but that's the name) is ~$140,000 to $500,000 brand new depending on amenities and size. You can buy a used one for much less (I've seen $50,000 for older ones). I plan to eventually buy a relatively new one that's probably a 27-footer ($250K brand new but used ones with lots of life left can be $125K) to cruise the intracoastal water ways, the Great Lakes, and island hop in the Carribean. A lot of Americans could afford this, but you need lots of free time to make it worthwhile (a wait till retirement thing).
Thank you! Every boat I do, the link to the sales page is in the description. We don't generally post prices as they have a tendency to change, which is why we have a link to a sales page with all the info.
I agree it's going to be hard to sell. I dont think dock space is the main reason though. It's very personalized and the majority of the market are not attracted to all the mismatched woods and layout. For 74' is has a somewhat small amount of actual living space compared to other vessels in the size range. We sold our 2000 70' Hatteras convertible last year in the first week we listed it and been looking for a more conventional traveler ever since. They're hard to come by and everything seems to be selling fast. Granted we are looking in a little higher price range but if a vessel hasn't sold in this market there is something wrong.
I'm not exactly sure what the first or second part of that means... But, as for the last part, the owner is in fact "quite a man" and he couldn't agree more! Thanks for the comment!
Just means you have to get your hands dirty to maintain this boat (pretty people won"t-just a term) and when the zombies start roaming the eath, this is the work horse that will keep you safe at sea. @@yachtlens
I would suggest you have a look at Learning the Lines as to how to do a walkthrough. They always show how to board from the jetty, not suddenly jump cut to both of you standing amidships or wherever you were. They also say either port or starboard when showing off a room and you get to know where you are on the boat. This was difficult to know exactly where you were. A wide angle lens would really help show off the context of each space. No views from the master suite made it look pretty drab, surely they could have put some windows in.
She is still available amazingly enough! 74 feet requires quite the dock space but with an 8,000 mile range, the right person won't let her sit there long! Ideal vessel to circumnavigate the world. The waters she can take keeping you safe would astound you. Thank you for your comment.
I can say a steel boat is a pain in the butt to keep up with the rust. Every 3-6 years you need months of yard maintenance repairs. The last steel fishing boat I worked on cost over $300k on one yard period that didn’t fix everything.
This one is a turn key steel vessel. Go check out the bottom restoration video! This owner has maintained this vessel with pride! Sorry for your experience, each boat is different. If you get one that suffered lack of maintenance, it creates the situation you experienced, sorry to hear that. Thanks for watching.
@@yachtlens not a lack of maintenance, you must do dry dock yard periods on steel boats. There are tricks to slow corrosion but you can’t completely stop it. It’s just a fact of salt water.

The Elizabeth Ruth steel trawler has a very knowledgeable Captain. We really enjoyed doing this one. The videos are all different, go check them out. Its pretty economical for its size to run! However this is a dream of a boat and worth every penny! Never seen a more impeccable Trawler! Sounds like you may be looking for a sailboat perhaps?
The owner didn't add water makers as it does have a 1200 gallon fresh water capacity. With the heavy duty construction and the weight of this vessel, the owner never felt stabilizers were necessary as he had no issues. Thanks for watching!
Replaceable value on this amazing Trawler is over 2 million, she is a beauty! A world traveler with over 8,000 mile range and extra fuel tanks on board in addition to this range if desired to take her further...safe Ed Monk Trawler designed for the Bering Sea! Thanks for the compliment and for watching.
It uses 8 gallons per hour which is incredible for this size of vessel! The range of 8,000 plus miles was with his set up not using all the fuel tanks. He had a couple closed off as he didn't need to use them. So essentially you can put more fuel in to gain more range! The replacement value on this vessel is well over 2 million and she is a total bargain at her current price! Designed for the Bering sea! Thanks for watching.
Thanks Steve, we think so! She really is an exceptional vessel and extremely well maintained. BTW she is being hauled this month for routine maintenance in Port Townsend, WA. She will be available for out of water inspection from the 15th to the 22nd. Thanks again for the comment!
A sturdy ship for a man who likes to tinker and maintain his own stuff. Not a square foot of fiberglass on board, nor granite countertops in the galley nor orchids in the salon. My kind of ship.

I’ve used those “older” electronics but everything fails and newer Chartplotter wouldn’t hurt that bridge a bit. I could live on that boat.

Emotionally priced at $569,000.... realistic selling price $385,000. it is after all a converted trawler. Good luck with the sale, nice walkthrough.
The boat is better when shown while at sea.
She spends a lot of time at sea.
I reckon that Paul enjoyed shopping for exotic wood at Eden Saw ??
She is really a gem isn't she? I imagine he must have, great place to pick up exotic woods. Thank you for commenting.
@@yachtlens Eden Saw is a place in Port Townsend to buy all sorts of woods for boat building.
Did he say 11 gal. Hr..?
Oh, not sure if i heard correctly, but i would NOT ever want to fuel that...
This owner knowledgeable
Yes indeed this Captain is! We agree and thank you for your comment.
Bad ars! House aft. Looks like a mini crabber
She is a conversion and an excellent choice, may have done crabbing in her past! Thanks for watching
That engine room was a lot tighter than I would have expected.
The Captain owner has had no issues we know of. This particular Trawler is a great one to see in person! Thank you for commenting.
Fair price.
Thanks Steve, we think so!
She really is an exceptional vessel and extremely well maintained. BTW she is being hauled this month for routine maintenance in Port Townsend, WA. She will be available for out of water inspection from the 15th to the 22nd.
Thanks again for the comment!
Nice boat. I imagine a boat like for the zombie apocalypse. Mount a .50 Cal on the deck.
🤔 Who needs a boat for leisure when you can have one for the zombie apocalypse, right? I'll work on that. Note to self: .50 Cal upgrade!
A sturdy ship for a man who likes to tinker and maintain his own stuff. Not a square foot of fiberglass on board, nor granite countertops in the galley nor orchids in the salon. My kind of ship.
Thank you. We really appreciate her high quality throughout. The Elizabeth Ruth has had impeccable maintenance in fine detail by her captain owner.
I need to work on my concentration or something, I missed the price. How much is it?
The asking price is $499,000. Here is a link to the listing information. We also have it in the details section of the video. Thanks for asking! section.www.unitedyacht.com/used-yachts-for-sale/custom-robinson-modified-monk-1991-elizabeth-ruth-2778012

Yes indeed! Thanks for watching.
Stoage or “wood” or a kind of wood! lol. Awesome boat!
I’ve had many a good sleep at night after some excellent gear……
Same here!
03:15 there is a warning not to enter the area while the maschine is in operation. Why?
That is an old sign the owner used as part of the decor in the focsle cabin. Thanks for the question!
yes 18:08 HF SSB !!! YES!!!! TOO MANY PEOPLE DELETE THOSE and then when you are ''out of range with VHF you may be OutofLUCK.....''
I would have to unlock the RX and scan the EXTRA CLASS HAM bands too ;) but eh
unless you actaully have the amature radio gear in the other room ;) hehe the ''RADIO ROOM'' ??
Darn I want to win the Millions!!.. What great ship and owner... I hope she get a new owner there respect her and not fill her with all kind of gizmos instead of needed.

Accommodation walkthrough meh - tech walkthrough WOW
Each person has their own taste for accommodations. Thanks for the great compliment on the walk thru. Appreciate your viewing.
seems like a awfully small living space for a 74' boat
It is actually an incredibly spacious and comfortable boat. We'd be happy to get you aboard for a tour!
I do wish people would include the price on these videos
Hey, Thanks for the feedback. The price is not included in the video for a few reasons.
1. Prices can fluctuate and we don't want inaccurate info in the video.
2. We do have the price in the description below the video, along with links to all the sales information and specs.
3. This video wasn't entirely meant to be a sales video. It was designed to give viewers a detailed look into a very unique and special vessel, from the owners perspective.
