I grew a 'Charisma' amaryillis last year... truly one of the most beautiful amaryllis I've ever seen! I let one of the stems go to seed, harvested them, and actually got them to germinate! I now have a pot of about 15 wee amaryllis.. only about 4 inches tall. I understand you keep them alive year round when they're young. They won't bloom for 3 more years.. we'll see if I can keep them alive for all that time!!! Thanks for another great video!!

My gosh, that Terra Cotta variety bulb was humongous!!!!! I planted a variety called Minerva about 5 years ago. Summers outdoors, I let the leaves brown and then repot it Jan 1. Three bloom stalks last March. I liked your idea about "decorating" soil level of pot. Still amazed at size of your bulb. TY for nice vid

This may be a silly question but can all amaryllis bulbs be planted and left in the ground in zone 8 or are there “specialty” varieties that aren’t hardy? I know some people grow them in the ground and let them do their thing around here but they’re always the plain red kind. Beautiful no matter which variety, just unsure of what I can and can’t keep in the ground here in zone 8 NC. Thanks, and happy thanksgiving everyone!!

I forgot to bring them in until a couple weeks ago and now I have them drying out in my basement. They still have very green leaves. Should I cut them off and store them for six weeks before bringing them out again? Or is it too late to do anything? Thanks. I subscribe to your channel and looking forward to hearing from you.

Your design provides plenty on interests until they bloom. And the clay/ceramic pots are hefty enough to keep pots from tipping when the blooms reach their height. I made the mistake one year leaving one in a plastic pot only to have it tip and break the stem.
