Wow. What a gorgeous bit of coastline. The rocks are stunning. A great video and painting ❤ I certainly look forward to seeing your larger painting of this scene and hopefully a video of your painting process 🤞
I like your "attack" on your neighborhood. 😂Wish I lived by the sea, instead I live in the desert. (beautiful too) Something about how you ....dive..into your painting, drawings that inspires my work.
Beautiful oil sketch! I love green blue Colors. It's not easy to paint with oil outdoors, especially if it's windy. Very nice spot! I found your channel with your video on exterior egg tempera painting. I stole some stuff for my own experience. THANKS to share 😊
Colours, values and composition so perfect! Big thanks to Maddie for the excellent photography, I particularly loved seeing close ups of the brush strokes ❤
Oh what a treat Andrew! Thank you! Your colours are so good and I shall be most interested to see the studio version as well. The colours in the sea resemble the aqua around our northern NZ coast. Perhaps we might be lucky enough to see you mixing these in the studio version as you have really nailed it...(no pressure!!!) Good to see you and your daughter enjoying your Northern Summer. All the best.
Beautiful little “sketch” ! Love the colors and looking forward to seeing what you do with the scene in a larger painting. Lovely to see Madeline in the video!
Lovely painting. I was walking that exact spot last month beautiful place. I wish I gave myself time to sketch it in watercolour but got some lovely reference pictures in. Well done 👍 the scene can change so quickly
That is a nice little painting in itself. Brilliant coastline. I came across your recent painting from the Beacon on FaceBook. Nice work. Enjoyed seeing your other artworks in your studio tour from the last video. Cheers. 😊
Your Michael Harding Pthalo Blue and White looks a lot like Winsor and Newton's Manganese Blue (Hue) - I'm sure there are subtle differences I can't see on screen, but it's one of W & N's colours that I rather like, for a bit of oomph in the sky. Still, given a choice, I'd always opt for Michael Harding paints. And - you did! It's always good to see you paint, even when Basil hasn't joined you (hope he's well) and I do hope you make a bigger study of this, and post it on here. I was GOING to ask you a question, but - totally forgotten it: what fun it is to be getting older - NOT. I've delayed posting my comment, but no - the question won't come.... bugger!
Might it have been about Cadmiums - don't know that it was! But, it has struck me recently - Cadmium Yellow is of course a big, strong, take no prisoners yellow: opaque, powerful, nothing stronger. But - I've used it for years, to make greens, oranges etc - and looking at my stuff, I see so much of it as crude, brutal, not so much in your face as blasting through your face - I wonder if you ever feel that it's so powerful as to be crude, as subtle as a Panzer tank, and, well - just too strong and too obvious? Obviously, when you need it, you really need it - but like Pthalo Green and Blue, I so often feel I just don't like it at all ... painting is about a lot more than choice of colours, I know: but when I want subtle - I'm going nowhere near the Cadmiums - trouble is, when I want strength of colour = where else am I going to go? Oh it does get difficult!
I prefer Manganese blue. Michael Harding markets the pthalo blue as a replica for manganese but I find it very different. Cadmiums are great but I find the yellow takes ages to dry 👍🏻
What a stunning view! You're painting is stunning as well. You really did it justice. Can't wait to see you work on the larger version. Thanks Andrew!
Thank you very much Lynette

Very well done, oil paint (yours; handground in linseed oil!) is the best. Fav location in wonderful Wales, love its people and landscapes.
Thank you very much!

I absolutely love it!!! I want to live there 😊
Lovely place
The colors in the water is amazingly beautiful. Is it Phthalo blue and white, cobalt or ultramarine blue, mixed with green. So amazing.
Thank you. Mainly pthalo blue for this one 👍🏻
awesome
Thank you
Do you think you will paint it with same dancing strokes on large canvas cos that would be exciting
Maybe I will - we’ll see how it goes
Really inspiring . Thanks
My pleasure
Beautiful area

A beautiful sketch, but I was a bit distracted by the absence of Basil.
Thank you. Too close to the edge of the cliff top for Basil
Which blue is giving you that turquoise sea color? I’d Love to see you pallet as you mix
It’s a pthalo blue and lemon yellow mix for this one
I love using unbleached Titanium instead of white and just using Titanium white for the important highlights
It seems to work well doesn’t it
If you make a bigger painting of this study, please make a video.
I will do my best Mike
