Hi Arianna, I sculpted that first in ZBrush starting from ZSpheres. Then retopologized in Maya. Currently I’m projecting photos in Mari which I’ll convert to height map and use it as a base for sculpting details in ZBrush.
It can be caused by multiple things. Try to Reset the select tool. Double-click the Selection tool in the left menu, there's a large Reset Tool button. Or it can be caused by the wrong component type filter. You can explore a few buttons in the main toolbar on the top, right next to Undo / Redo buttons.
You missed a good one when you were covering growing selections: "Shift + >" grows a selection and "Shift +

i have a problem some time i cant select any thing until i press shift key idont now why i must restart maya ?
