  • Between LG's Ultragear lineup there has been a massive wave of new monitors from the GP950 down to the lower 600 series. But how do they compare to 2020's models and how specifically do you justify the cost increase?
    What if you don't have to? Maybe you can get a better monitor like the GP83B from 2021's lineup for the same cost as last years higher end model? Or maybe the 2020 is on sale and you don't need the extra bells and whistles? Either way, today we cover the differences between the 27GN850 & the 27GP83.

    Just bought the 27GP83 and as a former 27GN850 owner like it more. It's colors out of the box are more natural and less saturated which I prefer. The Freesync range over HDMI is extended. I play on a Xbox Series S and with the GN850 I couldn't have both 120hz and Freesync enabled simultaneously. With the GP83 I can.

    What do you think of post calibration color and black levels ? Do you think GN850 could handle a bit better if ICC and calibration was provided ?

    • @BainCustom
      @BainCustom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure. The difference in color capability isn't that drastic between the two. It's more updated feature sets relating to the menus and source devices. Otherwise they are fairly evenly matched for color and black level performance. There is a bit of ips glow, but that's a given with almost any ips.

    Just traded a msi b550m pro vdh wifi/R5 3600 and wraith prism cpu cooler for a practically new 32gp83b and it’s become my new main for high resolution games like cyberpunk. My fps gaming panel (sometimes) is a Dell S2721DGF. Both are being pushed at full 165hz with hdr on by a Ryzen 9 3900x and 6900xt.
    I still can’t believe I got it for such an amazing deal, I still miss my liquid crystal ips1440p 270hz Acer Nitro I sold to pay for my old 4K ips 144hz Gigabyte M32U that I bought the day it released for $800 (the nitro was $700). Those two high end panels were from a different life though, one I can’t afford now as it was before I lost my health and mobility…
    Whining aside, the $500 165hz LG looks almost as good with its Nano ips technology. I’m just hoping it can upscale my ps4pro for streaming at 4k for obs since my Dell can’t.

But i find 24" was just too small.. im getting older and i have a hard time seeing enemies on 24"- so i switched to this 27gp83b- i love the size..Now the color was foggy and kinda crappy at first.. Once it warmed up a bit seemed good.. now i'm used to it and i like it. So far seems very clear..I honestly wish i couldve found the Omen 27" but i'm happy... Love this video makes me feel better about my purchase.. i need to calibrate the color a bit. Im running a i7-9700 / GTX 1660ti and runs ok..I swear i used to run destiny 2 at 200 plus frames- now more like 150-160 sometimes less more like 90 fps. I couldn't get it to display 4k at 120frames or even 144hz. It was stuck on 60
      I tried everything, new drivers all settings checked bought new cables. I had it for 3 days and tried everything I just said screw this. I shouldn't have to have this many problems with a monitor. It was missing bracket screws as well. I replaced it with the LG UltraGear. Plugged it in and worked perfectly just needed to calibrate.

      I would argue yes for console only. For PC, technically no. Even though there are some good generational improvements I mention in the gp83 review video.
