In this video, I cover 3 video game genres and their related equalizer settings that I use (feel free to come up with your own based on the information I give you!)
The first & most popular - Shooting games like call of duty, battlefield, Fortnite, apex legends, counterstrike, and more. Games, where directional sounds are a GAME CHANGER, and being able to pinpoint them accurately, will take your game to the next level!
The Second - Immersion games, games where you want to lose yourself in the game sounds and captivating world. Games like Spiderman, god of war (my favorite game of all-time hands down), uncharted and more.
The Third - Voice communication games.
While I know that voice communication is very important in the first genre as well - shooting games, there are some games where the sound of the game really does not matter and all you want to hear is your teammate - and shooting games are not like that.
I am talking about games like Dota, League of Legends, Smite, and more.

Just wanted to inform you that Arctis pro wireless is like the only SteelSeries headset that you can do customization but is more limited it only allows even numbers, I thought it was my headset having issues but SteelSeries Support informed me that the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless only allows even number. max 12 to -12 on the 5 equalizer bars 100,300,900,2500, and 8000.

dynamic range compression makes the sounds evenly.
Quiet sounds become louder and loud sounds become quieter.
That should make "hearing" more pleasant.

I keep the cod in game settings the same, but if you boost high that might help as well

@@FroGzZ19 Currently boost high sounds the best to me. Changing the EQ setting for then Arctis 7p as shown in the video along with the boost high in game audio setting really made a difference.

You can do whatever feels right for you, that is why I use live preview
Hi dude, at the minute 3:01 in the frequency 3.9K if i put a high value i get a noise in the headset even if im not listening nothing. I can put it down again i know, but that option is not useful for hear the steps in game, u said?
Put it at a level that will not make noise but also be a little lower, or at the same time you can use Performance

Great video. The engine three is not available anymore. The EQ is different on the 9x than the one on the video. Please advise us
So Engine 3 still exists, it is just now a part of what they call "steelseries gg"
When you download it, you will see engine 3 as an option inside the app.
As for 9X, it just has more options and frequencies to play from, but if you copy the way the pattern looks visually, you will be alright

I would recommend copying the FPS eq I gave here (I know it has more columns, but if you copy the way the wave pattern looks - it should work the same)
The reason is that it the basics are basically the same, low ends are on the left, high ends are on the right - the only difference is that there are more frequencies to adjust.
Either use that or just turn on performance
@@WickedCushions the Arctis 9’s don’t have the performance audio profile for some reason they only have 3 audio profiles. Default, studio and game.
So can I save the EQ preset I made on the engine to where it will sync to my headset, so that I can use it on my console with that preset I made?
According to steelseries, yes!
Do I need to have SteelSeries open while gaming in order for the Profile that I select to work or once I set it, I can close the app and I'm good to go?
Once you save the profile, it saves it on the headset itself

I will try it out with my Arctis 1, will they sound the same as the 7p? They have the same driver but the 7p has DTS x2.0 and the Arctis 1 Windows Sonic, does it make a difference?
This only works with Arctis 1 wireless by the way, it won't work with wired arctis 1.
The sound will be slightly different, but the same principles apply for EQing

Not really possible that much, the mic is not all that good on arctis

So I have Arctis Nova 7P for PS5. I was wondering what's the difference between smiley and focus as I can't differentiate which one to use for final fantasy 16 game. Also similar question applies for first party games like Spiderman or God of War Ragnarok on PS5. Much appreciate for any advise thanks

Are these settings, global settings across all steelseries products you listed or only for the 7P? Also would you know if the PC mode or High-Res mode is better for fps games with the Arctis Pro Gamedac?
Im not sure about the pro gamedac, but the EQ is a pretty universal thing.
I haved the 9x and i cant find it on the software when you click to find headset not shown here the 9x page just shows how to connect to xbox???

i bought and tryed it with your settings for shooters ( quake champions)..i only here the footsteps if they are next to me..like 30 meters. Dont know what to do... with my 10 year old sennheiser gsp 107 i hear everything. any help?!
Try doing bass booster and raising the highs a little
have you made a video for the Nova 7X? It doesn't have the same presets and has 10 equalizer sliders. A lot different than what is in the video.

Hey 👋 umm I have extra settings on my equalizer DTS HEADPHONED X V2 should I have that turned off or on... it says on with 7.1 surround. For call of duty I should say to haha.. I play warzone on ps5 if that helps.

One question. I use Arctis 7 and have three more options in the SteelSeries Engine (now SteelSeriesGG app, recent update) called *'Speakers'*> Options OFF or ON for 7.1 surround, and *'Surround Profile'* > Options like Game and last one: *'Stereo Profile'* > Options like 'Default'.
Any tips on those for FPS game, didn't see information about them in your video :/

But when I changed the (in headset configuration window) "Preset" settings to 'Performance' it ignored my custom EQ :/ (your COD settings). I'll test to keep 'Custom' presets accordingly to your mix for FPS games.
I activated also the setting "Stereo Profile" to Default and the setting "Surround Profile" to 'Game' and also activated the 7.1 Surround on the "Speakers" setting.

So I can switch the Artic 7p to immersion and then plug it back into my PS5 and it will stay on that setting. Is that how that works?

Totally different headset, this is the OLD arctis 7X.
I do not plan on making a video for the nova 7x, some other people have it somewhere. Try gadgetry tech on youtube

You basically just copy the way the pattern looks and you will get the same result

Yep, mic's on arctis are just not good
Anyway to fix the clicking in the EQ? Whenever i set the eq form flat i hear random hums and buzzes and clicks when moving the ticks up or down.

The one you save becomes defaulted, or just delete the default

Yep! has less eq bars, but can still be used
Not sure how you can get 1.9 and .04… it only lets me move the slider by increments of 2 at a time. I even try to manual type the value and it adjusts to the closest number…

I can’t get the 7p to come up on “gear screen” I wasted money on a laptop to do this, and can’t get headset to pop up on engine. Tried the 3 and 6 seconds. Any help will be greatly appreciated
It must be connected with BOTH the cable AND the wireless transmitter
@@WickedCushions I have it sorted. I had to buy a USB A to USB c adapter. It worked instantly. My cable that came with the 7p doesn’t work. The small adapter I bought, picked up 7p, and loaded up instantly

Use performance
If you’re on the 7 or 9x just keep it on flat and use the Xbox Dolby Arnos app or windows sonic if you don’t want to pay

@@WickedCushions I guess the only issue is cranking up the far right dials amplifies the white noise, which seems to have gotten a bit weirder on PS5.

Only through the engine which then saves the settings when you move to your console.
Make sure you use live preview with some sounds for the game you are trying to equalize for - it will save you alot of time going back and forth from your console to your laptop

Yes you just need to press the power button might need to hold it you can cycle through presets one through four you have to make the adjustments in the engine though

@@natebarts3226 sup man. Yeah pressing the power button send a quick beep through the headset, one beep, two beeps, etc depending on the preset you're on. Holding the power button is what turns on and turns off the headset itself.

Little Late on the game on this but how do you make odd numbers also changes to like say I input 3.7 in the SteelSeries audio software? Cause I put say 1.5 in and it will auto changes its self to 0 same as if I put 1 it reverts to 0. 3 will go to 2 same as 5 to 4. I have the Arctis Pro Wireless so I never messed with the settings before till now. It seems I haven't seen this type of issue with anyone bringing up my problem.... Maybe this is a hardware issue? Cause I contacted support and what they told me to do so far didn't help :( very unhappy hopefully I could get some guidance on this...

I have a problem, when I change the settings, nothing changes in the sound, even if I try to pull them to the extremes, the sound just won't change. I have live preview on. Does anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong?

Excelent video, I purchase the White Faux Leather and Memory Foam Earpads for my Steelseries Artics Pro, currently using Steelseries GG Software, I only see 5 bands instead of 6, I followed your advise in one of the comments , follow the pattern of the video, however I would like to know regarding Surround Profile and Stereo Profile, for FPS games which would be the best option in your personal opinion?

I think what you mean is, can you toggle between profiles when not connected to the software.
The answer is no, you need to connect to engine, set the profile, and then it changes

I have a pair and it started making crackling moises do i contact the manufacturer and got another pair and still get the same problem. Would this fix that?

quick question. Which settings take default if I'm using the headset as a stand alone Bluetooth? If I have all my settings set for PC and console but am not using it for either of those. If I'm listening to music on my phone, which settings you think it'll use?

It won't separate the chat from the game, that setting will affect your entire game.
But the game should have in game settings

I don't play much call of duty anymore, you can probably find people who are more on top of it now
Can I get some help, about the call of duty one, when I increase my 3.9k and 1.4k frequency, it seems that background volume like the wind will be extremely loud, like more louder then the foot steps itself, is this an in-game thing or my headsets, I use Arctis 1 Wireless headset.
It could be an in game setting, you would have to first figure out what sounds you can control in game, once you do that - come back to the EQ and start tweaking it again.
