    New subscriber here your videos are the best you have the first r500 after recall video have you shot it yet I had my heart set on one but everyone said ten point is better I still want the r500 it seems to fix plus they said a lifetime warranty on the new r500 that’s unbeaten

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much for those kind words. That really means a lot. The R500 has a Limited lifetime warranty and it’s much cheaper than the 500 FPS Tenpoints. I have a review on the Tenpoint 515 but I can’t say one is better than the other. I tend to lean towards the Ravins but that’s just my personal preference.

    Got mine back after recall. String broke again (third time) on the 5th shot. I was using the original bolts.

      No the string is not covered under warranty. They let me trade for the r29 with couple options. Dealer said he has no problems with that one.

      Can I get your opinion. Would you get the tenpoint trx 515 or the ravin r500?

    • @2001zrt800
      @2001zrt800 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would not buy a bow that shoots over 500 fps. Dealer says they consistently breaking.if you do, change the knocks after you shoot the arrow a couple times. Knocks break and cut the string.

    Many years ago I owned a tenpoint titan Xtreme and wicked ridge invader xbows. Loved both of them. Then this company called Ravin came out. I thought I gotta try it out. Let's make a long story short, the Ravin lasted 2 years, limb issues, bought an Excalibur good bow just did not like width went to scorpyd, killer instinct they all had limb issues. I bought a tenpoint 505, love it. By the way the wicked ridge invader and tenpoint titan extreme, still hunting with the same limbs all these years later. If you want to get in to xbows buy tenpoint.

      My only problem with Tenpoint was their customer service about 3 or 4 years ago. They have definitely fixed that and they are getting better all the time.

    So far, I'm not a professional hunter but from my experienced over all I still prefer tenpoint reverse limb crossbow, much more accurate and more silent cocking-decocking, loading arrow and unloading arrow, make no clicking noise, I can do all those while deers is just 15 yards from me

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This particular one is silent as well. But cranking it is a much bigger movement as well as more turns than the Tenpoint. I’d hate to have to reload with deer 15 yards away either way. lol

  • @Bean-sz7sr
    @Bean-sz7sr หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I think I'll stick with my TenPoint. I like the Ravin but I'm not crazy over their crank system.

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This one you don’t have to worry about letting go of the crank like a regular Ravin. But I’m with you, Ravins can be a little tricky.

    Is it just me, or do the limbs not look evenly spaced when cranking this? Look at 9:26 in the video- the bow is reaching fully cocked. The perspective looks straight on, and the limb on the right appears to be farther away from the chassis than the limb on the left by about 1/4".

      @ TrinityWild
      All I can say in response is to share my own experiences.
      I recall the days when manufactures were breaking the 350 FPS line.
      Back then we all saw a number of problems with limbs, breaking, and other issues, until they were able to figure things out. Some of the same things emerged when they broke the 400 FPS line.
      Technology continues to push forward. When the R500 Appeared, I was mission focused on getting one, no matter what! I conducted research on the item and much to my chagrin, I found that the R500 was having numerous problems. Broken nocks, frayed And broken strings And other problems.
      When the 10 point nitro 505 first emerged, I put on the brakes for the
      R500 and went all in on the 505. I have not been sorry.
      I have had 0 problems and fantastic accuracy. I have taken numerous deer with no letdowns.
      My 505 speed checked at 521 FPS a t the factory. With that in mind, it’s not a “505” it’s a 521.
      With a 470 grain hunting arrow, I’m getting 507 fps. Of the 8 deer I’ve taken with it and the furthest shot I made out to 35 yards, not a single deer has survived beyond 7 seconds after the hit. Not one.
      I have no doubt that I could have an excited deer staring me down from 45-50 yards and I’ll just blow through both shoulders without a second thought.
      The 505 was engineered better. Thicker strings and cables, heavier cams and limbs & so forth. That 505 will Robin Hood at further distance than you ever want to shoot a deer at.
      Does it have superfluous power? Absolutely! But if cared for and used properly, it’s been a winner!

      @ That’s very generous of you!! My shop has been on this weekly since the end of October- apparently they’ve had a lot of employee turnover so none of the new people know the legacy information about it. Their local raven rep is apparently not much better.

    Thanks for posting this video. I have watched several of your videos in the past but just subscribed to your channel today.
    I just ordered a brand new (not reconditioned) Ravin R500 Sniper XK7 crossbow directly from the Ravin website on Black Friday.
    Since it has not yet shipped, I am hopeful that I will receive the same product (with post-recall, "bombproof" updates) that you demoed in this video.
    Is that a reasonable expectation on my part? Please advise. Thanks.

    How would you sight broadheads in with that speed? What broadheads do you recommend?

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s hard to find a fixed blade to fly true at those speeds. I did a video on Toulou single bevel broadheads a couple of months ago. They shot incredibly at 450FPS out of an R29X. The G5 Megameat has been our most popular broadhead this year but I’m a Grim Reaper fan when it comes to crossbows.
