Testing TOULOU Single Bevel Broadhead Performance.
มุมมอง 440หลายเดือนก่อน
The question I get everyday is “What’s the best broadhead?” I don’t really think there is one answer to that. But the question I do have an answer to now is m “What do you shoot?” I’m going to shoot the Toulou right twist 100 grain single bevel broadhead. These things are sweet. My biggest question with any fixed blade broadhead is, do they fly like my field point? The answer to that is usually...

$220 is a bunch of cash to lay out for 6 arrows, could they possibly be worth it? Well, that depends on you. Do you want to buy a pile of match grade arrows, search for the matching components, then spend a few hours wrapping and fletching those arrows? If you’ve never done your own fletching you will need a jig, a bunch of supplies, wraps, vanes and a new skill set that will take some time to ...

EXcalibur....😢
Let me ask you something…my new R10X was delivered day before yesterday and I set everything up, mounted/torqued base and scope, etc last night. One thing I noticed right off the bat was the rest…the factory standard rest on mine has two ceramic balls vice the two ceramic discs/wheels. Have they updated this standard R10X rest to the balls vice discs on the latest models, or do I possibly have a model that is a little older and the latest is the version with discs? I know their premium upgrade rest has the two stainless balls in it, but was just curious. The factory shot card with fps test on it chrono’d 428 at the factory so that’s certainly a plus. I’ve got two different chrono’s and will certainly shoot over both this wknd when I sight the scope in, to verify fps. This R10X is a crazy nice crossbow, made very well and handles damn good. At 6’3”, I let the butt stock out an inch and half and locked it down there and it shoulders really well for me.
Wouldn’t own anything but Excalibur ❤❤
Thanks for all the good info. Just bought my first crossbow and got the Siege 425 and am very happy so far. But, I did forget to back off the brake and it took me a bit to figure it out. All this information is very helpful.
I will never buy Excalibur cross bow again. There is no recourse for faulty equipment.
Iv got any of my 2 crossbows fixed with no problems . Broke limbs on the one now 2 times. What do you mean by no recourse?
I have found Excalibur very easy to deal with. Did they not take care of an issues for you?
Do not buy the mag 340, the limb rail and the main rail does not match up, you OK at 15 yards or less. After that it sucks.
I’ll make sure not to carry that one then.
Gonna buy one for my son. He is left-handed Can I mount the crank on the other side or does it come mounted already
That internal crank is only on the right side. The Charger EXT handle I believe can switch to left hand. The Suppressor Extreme comes with it.
Another good vid…well done!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that.
Excellent…you the man!
No YOU da man!
👎It's not worth it to pricey, good review
It is mighty pricey. But I’m Glad I could help you make an informed decision. Thanks for watching.
The crank slides in perfectly In a spot I. The butt stock.. you can literally see where it clicks in. Then you don’t have to have your hand anywhere near the danger zone in the front..
I’m so used to putting that handle in the quiver bracket I always forget the butt stock is even an option.
Why get a r10x vs the r5x? R5 is so much cheaper and only 20fps slower?
I agree. I tell people all the time anything over 400FPS is just showing off. lol.
Thank you!
Glad to help. 👍
Good vid…just bought two 24” Big Shot Iron Man Extreme 500’s a couple of days ago, waiting to be delivered.
Thanks so much for watching. I really like that target other than it being real heavy. lol
@@TrinityWild Weight ain’t no problem and moving them around as long they do their job. They should be fine for my Ten Point Viper S415 and last a decent amount of time.
Excellent vid, well done…liked and subbed!
Thank you so much for those kind words. And thank you for subscribing.
Currently own 5 older excalibers the phoenix, 2 matrix 355 a 380 and a bulldog matrix 400 I love them all the simplicity of them is the best ,but the matrix series are the best ones in my opinion, no micros and none of this new crap for me as a canadian who lives 2hrs from the original excaliber shop in kitchener ontario buy a matrix series it won't let you down.
I went to Toulou's web page expecting to purchase their broad head, however, when I saw the price it was very discouraging. If I recall $128.00 plus shipping for three. Not willing to pay that much no matter what their claim is.
Yep, they are a little pricey. We sell them for $119.99. Iron Will broadheads are even a little more I think.
Really awesome crossbow. Alot of negative comments about the casefire mechanism, doesn’t make sense it’s awesome u can basically use any kind of nock. Only thing that concerns me is the extreme limb stretching, there's no limb breaking with the new technology (warranty cases)… excalibur says but let’s wait
I’ve had to replace a few limbs over the years but I’ve never had any kind of warranty trouble with Excalibur. Haven’t had a bit of trouble with the Ceasfire as of yet. But I agree, I like this crossbow.
Your video was good. The crossbow....huge letdown!
Thank you for watching. What was disappointing about the crossbow?
Recurve limb simplicity......moving right along to the complex rear end of the crossbow, complex as a Chinese fire drill, then those proprietary bolt/nock combo. WTF Excalibur? A big fat "No Way In Hell"
That’s an interesting way to look at it. Simple in the front, complex in the back.
Dang that thing is loud 🎉
All these crossbows are loud. But you kind of think the simplicity of the Excalibur would make it a lot quieter. Not so much.
@@michaelcurtis8114 its not for a 350grain Arrow
@@EiNgAbEf2 what does that have to do with my comment? I just said it's loud. Nothing about arrow weight.
@@michaelcurtis8114 its a Minimum arrow weight all crossbows are louder with it Thats what i wanted to say
I have been shooting Excalibur (along with a few others) since 2007. They really screwed two things up in my opinion . 1) they went from the Guardian anti-dry fire to their supposed to be “improved” cease fire. 2) The Rhino nock for this “ improved” cease fire anti-dry fire system. They have always been a KISS (keep it simple stupid) company until they came out with this crap. Excluding the Rev X everyone of their crossbows with this “ improved” anti-dry fire system requires you to have a de cocking tool to attach to the string so you can decock the bows. REDICULOUS You forgot to mention 3 things: 1) with the Rhino nock when loading an arrow to shoot, you have to push it all the way back till you hear the click. This disengages the anti-dry fire system. 2) When de cocking the bow, you can let go of the handle at any time and it won’t freely backwind because of the clutch in the crank. 3) This crossbow does not have a string groove behind the scope rail to manually cock it by hand with a rope if the crank system should fail or need repaired.
I agree with you completely.....no one wants that complex garbage. I also wonder how expensive those proprietary bolts are. Mathews was pulling the same $hit with their proprietary metal half moon nocks a few years ago. With all the competition in the crossbow market these days, how do these scumbags think they are going to get away with screwing guys on overpriced, over complex garbage? There are many higher quality, user friendly crossbows for half the price.
Those are great catches. Thank you. I really meant to talk about being able to let it go while de-cocking it. As far as the manual cocking, I mentioned that to my rep. It hopefully will be something they will address going forward. Thanks so much for your feedback.
Excalibur's best technology is (TD). I will buy it only if they make a Rev X (TD)
They’re ALL take down. Either 1-2 bolts or the TD feature
400TD is better still
Don’t put wax on your servings that causes them to separate
It certainly can. Keep the wax on the bare string only.
Yeah sure!
lol. I’m with you, we shall see.
Having issues with the lighted nocks, could you do a video on that
The Tenpoint lighted nocks? What kind of issues?
Looks sharp
Thank you Sir, and thanks for watching.
This is the best review!!! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!!
Thank you so much. I’m hope it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
Ordered mine last week! Can't wait to sight it in
That’s great, let me know how you like it. Good luck this season and thanks for watching.
I tried sighting in my ravin 10 yesterday and after eight shots at 20 yards, I was still skipping arrows and I was shooting off of shooting stick so I wasn’t dropping my crossbow
Ya know it would be a bit of a sacrifice for me, but ya know…in the spirit of greater good…I will volunteer to take that bow for a little bit and put it through the ringer for you 😂
On the ravin crossbows that click when you are cocking it , to make it silent all you have to do is keep the button pushed in on the but stock while cranking it just make sure to let off of the button before you take pressure off of the cranking handle
That’s correct. I never tell anyone but they figure it out pretty quick, lol. But if your hand comes off that handle while your finger is on that button it’s GAME OVER. thanks for watching.
excellent, would love one, at this time These´are out of reach$
Not sure what your budget is but if you want a great one that won’t break the bank check out their Venom X. I believe it’s the best crossbow out there for just tick over $1000.
This is the thing,go shoot all bows go with the one that feels great, yes some will push big brands. But go with what ya like and feels good. If it's a good bow store he will take care of you no matter what you shoot and tune anything. Don't feel like you got to buy top line stuff to harvest anything. Just think way back, to our natives, used a bow and provided for family's and they didn't have technology like talking about.lets keep it simple people and stop being money hungry and playing this big game.
I tell people all the time, it ain’t the bow it’s the hunter. Especially when I have someone who’s just getting started I ask what level of a hunter do they consider themselves. Like you said, you do not need the newest to kill deer. I restring 20-25 year old bows for people every day that whackin’ and stackin’ ‘em. You can spend $400 or $4000 that deer is not any more dead. lol. I think some people are under the impression if they spend more money they will be better hunters. You gotta get out in the woods and get after them, that’s how you become a better hunter. Thanks for watching.
Read through a killer instinct manual from pdf while watching and literally followed the manual. How great! Thank you, bought my new first crossbow from the Pawn shop 😊, assembled with nothing but the cross bow appearing to never of been used. String slide was put on backwards and upside down. Manual had good pictures and pdf was good quality to zoom in and verify. Killer Instinct Lethal 405. $90 for the bow. $ 200 for bag, string cocker., bolts, quiver, wax, tools. Great video!
Wow that’s a heck of a deal. It’s messages like this that really make me enjoy doing these videos. Glad it helped, good luck this season and thank you for watching.
Thanks, always need a refresher 😀
That’s what I made it for. Glad to help.
I was just on the Ravin web site and they have the r500 for $2350 same as the r29x. But it does not show anything different about the r500 as to the cams or anything. Looks the same. I guess I'll have to wait to see what's going on before I buy one. I was going to buy the r29 but since the r500 is the same price I'd like the r500 instead.
I just replaced strings on one of the updated ones. Cams are the same, the only thing I can see that is definitely different is the limb spacers. They tell me the trigger has been re worked as well. I’ll definitely run one through the ringer once I get one in my hands.
What’s the point of a longer stabilizer vs shorter ones
WOW!!!!!!! THANK YOU, VERY MUCH, FOR THIS GREAT DEMO/REVIEW VIDEO!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!!
And thank you for watching. Glad to help.
Nice - Is there now a real chance for recalls in Germany ?! Waiting so much time - but prefer 2 use the Ravin R500…- thx for short information - With best regards - Lars
I have no idea Lars. But I will if I can find out for you.
@@TrinityWild Thx a lot !!! Just try to contact Ravin 1000-times…- there’s no response.. - Greetings from Germany - Lars
??? Came here for Mazdas...
lol, that’s hilarious.
Greatly appreciate it. I have 2 ten points renegade 350,and stealth 450. Love them both . I will be getting that tripod!
Thanks for watching. That tripod is perfect for ground blind hunting. Good luck this year.
I just bought a Ten Point Siege 425 a few weeks ago. That model does not have the extra rod on the crank handle to disengage the trigger box from the string. There is a hole in the stock where the rod could be used, but since there is no rod, you can't use it to disengage the trigger box from the string. I even tried pushing a metal rod into that hole but it doesn't seem to do anything on the Siege 425, or at least not the way you described doing it in your video. I assume they changed the design of the trigger box for this model. The instruction manual even states that it is okay to leave the trigger box engaged with the string in the un-cocked position until the next time you want to cock the bow. I don't really see that as an issue since it actually saves you from having to disengage the trigger box and slide it forward in the field. I see it as one less thing to break and it is probably a less expensive design which should in turn make the bow a little less expensive. As far as I can tell, if you don't want to leave the box attached to the string the only way to disengage the trigger box from the string is to actually put a bolt in it and fire it which is exactly what will happen when you shoot your deer. Problem solved.😉
You are spot on. That model you can’t disengage unless you fire it. I don’t know why some people can’t just let it be. lol. It’s perfectly fine sitting there on the string. You will like that 425. Solid crossbow with rarely an issue that I see.
This is a great resource. Thanks. Looking forward to video four!
Thank you so much. Glad it helped.
Where is part 4? I cant find it?
Every review has said the pockets are big, and they look big. But can they pack 40’ of rope for one sticking?
Hmmm, not exactly sure but I will dang sure see if it will.
Manual recommends 30-33 in torque not just "snug" btw.
That is incorrect. (Pg 10) Section 3 #6 “Tighten the upper rings, alternating between front and back screws, while keeping an eye on your scope levels. Keep slightly tightening and alternating from front to back and torque to 15 in.-lbs. Over-tightening the mounting rings will damage the scope and void the warranty.” The reason I didn’t mention it is because most people don’t have torque wrench anyway.
*WTF I DIDN'T GET A HAT*
Dude! I believe I’d go back where I got it and demand that hat. Whoever built that got your hat. lol.
All that just to cock a crossbow.
The main reason I chose TenPoint was the De-cocking..These are great bows,But damn that is just asking for injuries from that setup.
It can be dangerous, for sure. They are both great companies and great crossbows. Always a tough choice.
