Hi from Japan. I found you seem misunderstood a little, so let me explain. The Emperor continued to exist even when Oda Nobunaga made Kyoto his base. The Emperor was like a puppet, but a samurai needed the Emperor's permission to become a Shogun. In Japan, including the previous era, the Emperor had authority and other people had power, and even in the era when it was explained that the Emperor ruled, Japan was actually ruled by powerful clans using the Emperor's authority. From the time the Emperor appeared in Japan until today, there has never been an end to the Emperor. And it has never been dethroned by another blood relatives. Therefore, the Japanese imperial family is the oldest dynasty in the world , lasting over 2600 years.
In addition, this is not to say that you are misunderstanding, but to provide information for better understanding, the purpose of the the western countries such as Portugal and Spain tried to spread Christianity to Japan was to invade Japan. This is the reason why Japan closed off. The Netherlands had made it clear that they had no intention of invading Japan and were purely seeking business and was allowed to trade.
Portugal and Spain underestimated Japan and failed to make it a colony, but I think America was clever in the sense that it took the most effective way from the beginning to achieve its purposes.

About 120,000 years ago, the foundations of civilization on Earth were established in the regions of Kyushu, Taiwan, Okinawa, and the Philippines, and about 80,000 years ago, Japanese civilization began using polished stone tools. Approximately 38,000 years ago, the Jomon civilization was established and rice cultivation began. 18,000 years ago, they traveled from Central Asia to Africa on reed boats, and then traveled to the Middle East, where they spread the ancient script that led to Shintoism. Japanese people who moved east also migrated from North America to Central and South America. Spread Japanese civilization. He also established the Jomon civilization in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in present-day China and spread rice cultivation. Approximately 7,300 years ago, due to a large eruption on the remote island of Kagoshima, people began to migrate to the vicinity of Mesopotamia and spread Japanese civilization (Sumeria). The iron tools that the Japanese had created for farming were also spread and the Hittites used them as weapons. did. The Jomon people immigrated to the Korean peninsula as the cold weather eased and created Japanese civilization. Later Baekje and Silla were also created. Thousands of years after the Japanese civilization spread around the world, religion expanded from the foothills of Mount Sinai to present-day Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Russia, and other areas. Even though Japan had acquired a conflict-free civilization, conflicts continued, and as monotheism was established in various places, the conflicts became even more intense. In the end, the world could not continue to follow the example of peaceful Japan, where no weapons were found even in ancient ruins.

Japanese here. Thank you for the reaction. The most surprising aspect of his initial comment was the lack of education on Japanese history in the United States. 🥲Japan, in the form of world history, does teach some aspects of American history. The spread of Buddhism is inaccurately portrayed; it did indeed reach Japan, which aligns with the fact that Japan, with its polytheistic beliefs, was adept at embracing diverse values.
The difficulty in pronouncing the names of famous Japanese warriors is understandable. At 8:13, his notion that the samurai image is limited to swords and armor was somewhat disappointing. During the Warring States period when samurai flourished, land was divided, eventually forming regions known as 藩"han," which correspond to modern Japanese prefectures. At 12:52, his mispronunciation of Toyotomi Hideyoshi as Toyotomi Haideyoshi was amusing. 🤣The comment suggesting Japan still exists in a colonial state from the days of the Greater Japanese Empire was surprising. However, his awareness of education about World War II was astonishing. His poignant comment on the dropping of the atomic bomb indicates a firm understanding that tragic wars should be avoided, even from the American perspective. Grateful for his reaction to Japanese history.🙏😀

Don't worry, Americans lack education on the history of anything except themselves.

In regard to the attempted Mongol invasion of Japan, the Mongol fleet was destroyed in a typhoons, not a tornado. This was unusual because the season for typhoons was past, typically didn't occur in November when this event happened.
The Japanese regarded the typhoons as a supernatural event, and attributed it as being sent from the gods. Their word for it was, "Kamikaze," or "divine wind." Kami=god, kaze=wind.

Samusai fought back so Mongol couldn't get into the inside and pulled back to the ocean. The tolnades came in that season so they couldn't make it to return to the continent, I mean the Korean peninsula. That's the whole story. Just a part of several 10 thousand years of history though. Manchuria was the area that huge money moved with the opium business for many countries including Rockefeller-America,so naturally confliction occured. Expanding every direction? I don't think so. By the way, United States looks facing the hard time. You have to be serious about your own, even if Japan always gives you smiles.

Technically Japan was given a chance by the US to rebuild their own government but after seeing how they work and how they were going to “rebuild” their government the one in charge on the US side were unsatisfied of their plan because nothing change at all and most of the new laws and “changes” they made still revolve around the emperor. So US took it upon their hands to do the job for Japan.

Please remove this video immediately. There are too many big mistakes. They are making a huge mistake that the emperors were killed and replaced one after another during the Warring States period, etc. This yutuber has not studied the history of Japan.

At WW2 Japanese political configuration was military dictatorship and aristocracy, some like as present Russia and N. Korea, and no contact nor concept with American democracy.
After war, Japan lost by scientifically advanced US military power and occupied by US army so we can't complain even if Japanese were enslaved, violated and plundered . These were not occurred. America taught us what is democracy, liberalism and equality of human being.
US gave starved Japanese people foods aid, no wartime reparation, and cooperated effort to rebuild Japan.
Most Japanese feel grateful to America with respect who stopped war, at the same time, with some sense of revenge that be unable to fulfill. I like America.
