  • This thing nearly let my wife and daughter freewheeling down the mountain. I won't have that so I got brake shoes pronto. Installation is a piece of cake, and that's no lie. East coast carts is the supplier. They shipped incredibly fast, incredibly free, and the parts were the right ones. No issues and I will be back to them.

    Thanks for the vid. My '91 took the other route and locked up hard while my son was driving it. Got the new shoes and springs a couple days ago this. This vid will help a lot.

    When the axle slips out of a golf cart wheel several inches and you can see the bearings what would cause that.Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

    • @heliarche
      @heliarche  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      llwellynrivets I've seen it happen on trucks before and it was always an improperly assembled differential. On the rear face of the rear axle is a cover with seven or so bolts. Remove that cover and you will see the differential itself. The axle is retained in the differential with a clip. If the rear end of a golf cart is anything like the cars and trucks I've seen fail in this way, the fix should be pretty simple as long as nothing got mangled. Good luck!

    @rittt248 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well other than remove and replace the cover hub you showed very little. Please don't get me wrong this is not a hate comment thank you for taking the time to make and post. But I want to ask why did you edit out the useful stuff?

    • @heliarche
      @heliarche  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      rittt248 Besides how to remove the drum, there isn't much worth showing. The stuff I cut out is all standard and self explanatory if you've ever done drum brakes. I just wanted to show the layout of the brakes. Also I was using a camera that doesn't have rechargeable batteries so I had to keep the video down to the fundamentals.

      I think those are a little different as far as the adjuster but very similar. Maybe all the thumbs down makes up for the lack of idiot comments.

    Not so much as a tutorial but it’s a before and after . Showed how to loosen the lugs, take off the drum, put it back on etc but You didn’t show the most important part. How to actually install the shoes.

    • @heliarche
      @heliarche  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you ever installed shoes on drum brakes? Do that.
