something Terence said that still makes me laugh is when he was talking about the difficult terrain that you traverse when tripping and he said "We all have our own private hell. I have a place I go to sometimes that I call the meat locker, and the less we talk about it the better..."

    I breathe in
I recognize it as an in-breath,
    I breathe out,
I recognize it as an out breath,
    I breathe in love,
    I exhale fear
    4-5 second inhale
    6-7 second exhale
A Longer exhale tells your body that you are safe.
Inhale through the nose, exhale out through the nose or mouth, but do not inhale through the mouth - it can send a signal to the sympathetic nervous system that it is 'gasping' and in a state of need, rather than a state of peace (parasympathetic).
    Controlling breath controls the mind.
Focus on the breath. This focuses the mind. The more focus on the mind, the more discipline you will have when navigating through difficult experiences.
    Namaste 🙏

What I've found in most cases where you feel you're going to die it's because in a way you are, your ego is dying in that moment. Psychedelics strip away your ego. The panic is resistance, it's so important to release resistance, trust, and that's when you get the biggest lessons. Not easy but very rewarding ❤

Donn DeVore Yeah it was pretty scary for me, it felt like my heart rate was slowing and I thought I was dying. Every so often I'd pass out and each time it happened I thought that I'd died but when it had happened it felt like I was flying through space and it was awesome but then I thought I can't stay here too long or I'll be dead forever so I'd wake up. This happened on and off every 20 minutes or so for like 3 hours through the night, didn't get any sleep at all. I'd had between 800-1000ug of lsd and I had only started getting the anxiety of death after smoking a couple of blunts. One of my most amazing yet scary experiences.

every time I start to have a bad trip it's just a really intense ego death that needed to happen and there was no avoiding it. It can happen at the worst times too, in the middle of a conversation, and what not. But it's always a minute of dying, and then coming back to reality from my very real death, and dealing with the shit it throws at me. I've actually never had a bad trip, whenever it starts to come on more intense, I'll close my eyes for a little bit and then open them again. And yet nobody around me seems to have any idea of the crazy shit that just happened in the span of a few seconds

That was about awareness of the mind's interpretation of the moment, not flogging oneself according to the methods, doctrines and dictates of the church or society in order to become a better competitor so as to win first prize in the rat race in service to those who defined the rules of the race that they control.

I started having a lot of bad panic attacks from the combitnation of smoking weed daily for a few years and from being in a stressful period. Although I agree with Terence, in that you should tell yourself to "shut up, we are getting through this", I don't think it would have been enough during one of the more severe panic attacks I used to have.
Some other things to try are: 1) Try to stop fighting it, embrace the feeling. 2) Trick your body into being happy (google embodied psychology for more info), meaning: you should dance, jump cheerfully, laugh/smile, etc 3) Meditate/breath/mindfulness. 4) Get some dopamine and sugar from comfort foods. 5) Write down what you are worried about.
What's probably more important though. Is that you should lay of the psychedelics for some time. I carried on far too long, and the panic attacks just kept on getting worse. I am not anti-psychedelics at all, but sometimes you just need a break. Which might be for months/years, which sucks, but its better than the alternative. Also, make sure your body is healthy: sleep well, eat healthy, exercise. And last but definitely not least, try to remove stressors from your life. Which somethimes might mean cutting ties with toxic people you hang out with.
I got through it. I went from having weekly panic attacks, even when just doing grocery shopping while being sober, to only having a very mild one like ones a year (usually when taking psychedelics in a stupid setting). You can get through it as well, just take care of yourself.

Wow this brings back a recent memory on 4 gs while hiking with my brother and my father. A lot of things could had gone south from certain events that took place during the trip. Example me slipping on a rock and falling on my butt and interacting with many many strangers passing by the trail and so on more as a challenge with walking two dogs as well. When I fell on my butt my first thought was get up and say your alright it was slippery and so I did that and everything just kept its course. At that moment I knew I was in complete control even though things were a bit out of the ordinary. The mind is a powerful thing and can take you to a place you don’t want to be, but you need to fight it and prove you are so much more than the mind may tell.

@material pattern for shrooms or DMT? If you're an amateur, always have a tripsitter, someone you can trust. And for weed, you just gotta know how to smoke. Sometimes it's okey to embrace those attacks, that's how I control them.

    • @thetacoguyy
      @thetacoguyy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@material pattern It's all about consuming responsibly, kinda like when people moderate how much alcohol they drink 👍😎
But there's still this stigma with hard drugs like shrooms, DMT, etc.. but I can safely say that since Cannabis has been legal for recreational use in California that stigma has been fading away, slowly. Hopefully in the future the same would occur to other psychedelic drugs.
And for weed, try a handful of edibles. I heard it produces a different high than how you smoke it. Very similar to DMT, but you'd have to eat a bunch of edibles.

I've definitely avoided some unnecessary and possibly traumatic trips to the emergency room thanks to Terence. There were times I legitimately thought I was going to die before simply saying to myself "Stop. This has happened before. You've already gotten through this many times. SHUT UP and breathe. Or don't, you'll start breathing on your own again anyway. Just bare the nervous energy and pay attention." Now, this does NOT make the anxiety attack go away. It merely frames the situation for what it is and allows you to go through it with the confidence that you WILL get through it. If you have someone calm and sober around you to merely look you up and down and tell you you're gonna be fine (whether they'd really know that or not) the effects can subside much quicker. Otherwise, you need to learn to discipline your hind-brain as Terrence suggests.

Everyday for me is a practice of self discipline and deep breathing to withstand more of the psilocybin experience. Its never easy, sometimes I just want to call for help but Terence reminds me sometimes to shut up and were gonna make it through this. 🧘‍♂️🎆🥊

When you trip in the swamp you can literally walk beside your soul . Literally...i seen myself walking and trotting thru the basin wiggin balls...every gator or snake you encounter is the only thing that keeps you in this realm. Best trip i ever had, so close to perishing. Animals know when you are trippin balls. I sat down on a log about 2’ from a poisonous water maucasin and the snake simply observed me, never felt threatened i smoked a cigarette and held a 20min conversation at arms length from the reptile and can say it is one of the coolest feelings in the world. Certain death, yet a beautiful tranquility permiated the scenery. 👌

It only lasted 5 minutes but felt like an eternity at the time. I was surround by what felt like evil, was sweating buckets and went flying through a portal type thing of neon lights. There was this point of infinite loops of time where He saw how His body is exploding into molecules and building back, floating into nothingness. He woke up for a bit and thought that He is dying and had idea to call someone for help and ambulance, but He could not move or speak at all. Lying down on the floor feeling like dying and being in hell all the sudden His Body exploded for the last time and He felt heavenly bliss, peace and harmony with everything, He was one with all and all was one with Him. A water drop into the sea. He can relate to this video. :)

I tried smoking weed for a long time and it was not my thing I once hallucinated or maybe it was real but I heard and felt something that made me feel ok and saw a light felt a hand touch my shoulder and say “it’s gonna be ok, we are here with you your going to get threw this and you need to stop smoking weed.” I thought I was dying I told my mom tell my daughters goodbye I love them, I could barley breathe and that wasn’t the first time I smoked weed and felt that way, that was just the one that really impacted me. Not everyone’s body can handle constantly using weed shrooms acid ect. I know I am one of them. I never had a bad trip on the one time and did acid and the couple times I did shrooms, but oh man, smoking weed scares me. Not only that but have people seen how weed resins a pipe or bong?!
