I served him daily at a cafe In Hawaii and I had no idea who he was at the time. All I knew was his energy was radiant and free. As a person living with extreme anxiety I felt nothing but love and acceptance from him. I saved the best fruits for his smoothie and naturally made everything he ordered with absolute joy and love. Someone finally asked if I knew who he was and introduced his books to me. I never felt comfortable with anyone except for him and only a handful of people I’ve ever met. He is a rare gem 💎 of a soul. I’m blown away by his work and having had the honor of interacting with such a multidimensional adept. ❤

Try ashwagandha, there was a pubmed study on mice and it reduced withdrawal symptoms in them- they were able to observe it in the brain.
Just don't haveashwagandha with SSRI, or other serotonin affecting medication- that is terribly risky since ashwagandha increases serotonin and balances hormonal function. Consult your doctor if you must.

That really is a tripped out idea and could be true. Photosynthesis is one of the craziest things ever, almost like magic because the plants turn photons, carbon dioxide and water into solid material, almost nothing is used from dirt they grow in..in a way that seems more advanced than the way animals grow. How can a coconut or a piece of hard oak wood be made from non-solid materials? And to think it happens right before our eyes unobtrusively; no explosions or sounds, no noticeable movement, but huge changes are going on.

If you haven't already, and you probably have, check out the world of lichens. It is theorized that lichens were the first life forms to adapt to living on land and that they broke down the rocky surface to create soil that enabled aquatic plants to be able to put down roots and adapt to living on the surface of the planet. They're indestructible zero kelvin unshielded exposer to radiation doesn't seem to effect them much at all. No sunscreen needed. Fascinating. And probably covering any of the myriad of planets out there somewhere among the countless galaxies that have life. Plants as Terence McKenna used to say are us! Have a great day.

@@sporter527 So I am kinda butting in here but I think it's important to. I have listened to Mckenna for about 6 years now and he was just a stepping stone. IMHO he puts a lot of power into the entities and powers during hallucinations from hallucinogens. There is a such thing as too much but that's not to denote what he speaks. I would take what he says while still asking questions. Also check out Alan Watts. He, in my opinion, directs his knowledge and teachings for towards the spiritualism of nature but doesn't imply that tripping constantly is the only way to be "enlightened". Listening to Alan Watts made me realize how "out there" Mckenna can be at times. Again, not that he is wrong in his teachings, it's just that his style of "diving in" isn't for everyone.

If I could metaphorize it I'd say, imagine a building with six doors. Two of the doors are open. You have a single file line of people slowly herding through the open doors while I'd just walk alongside the line and open a new door. Naturally, a portion of that line breaks off and follows me through the newly opened door, but I never actually see anyone open their own door.
It's kinda hard to explain the impact it had, but I'd be a completely different person if I hadn't had that influence. it makes sense in my head, but I feel like I'm doing a terrible job communicating it.

It's nice that you include Graham Hancock in this, I love the guy, he is far more of a philosopher than these apparently angry hateful people think of him as. They think he's trying to spread disinformation when he's not, he's spreading a very important message.
Even though there are many arguable and honestly, easily believable aspects to his research and his points, it's not the true message. Like Ancient Aliens, but he does more than just Question history, and pose alternatives. But in the same way as Ancient Aliens, it will force a paradigm shift in the populace. It will make people think differently, and have different conversations.
What's the endgame of people thinking differently? HOPEFULLY the widespread awakening of us all, that we are raping the shit out of our poor planet and none of us are really that happy at the end of the day. WE ALL need to go to rehab, for greed, for resent, for self control. Billionaires, world leaders, homeless drug addicts and hard working men and women alike.
We could be happy just staring at the sun if we gave up the chase and helped eachother, loved eachother.
Why are we so afraid to get along with eachother?

I of course try to be pleasant when I am around people, I try to make my interactions healing and uplifting, to others and myself. But at the core of the world we live in is great evil. That's just reality. If people were all nice, or at least not cruel and awful, this world would be a beautiful place. It isn't. And while it can be said that people behave according to circumstance, upbringing, and in some sense luck, it's hard not to feel like you are better than the evil ones in positions of power in this world, if you are at least a decent and well meaning human being. Anyway I feel your pain and sense of disconnection quite literally, it is no different than my own. It is written that the 3 greatest gifts God gives are faith, hope, and love. Most assuredly there is more to what all our pain and suffering is about, than the world we take ourselves to be part of. Have faith, it's better than not having any even if it feels like lying to yourself. I wish you and others peace, happiness, and that we may all find humor and meaning to make this part of our soul's journey tolerable.

Beautiful message and artwork! Community is necessary component. Albert Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with same thinking we used when we created them.” We created an legal system which is adversarial by nature, a winner and a loser. We created a competitive economic system and educational system creating corporate slavery. Our economic system is fueled by the insatiable appetite of consumerism depleting our Earth’s resources faster than they can be replenished. Einstein also said in reference to Nuclear energy, “Humanity hasn’t evolved enough to use this energy for only peaceful purposes.” Personally, I dropped out of society and into a spiritual community, a communal living society thinking that was part of the solution at that time but I experienced the same nepotism, control, manipulation, dogmatic and judge mental attitudes of society at large. My current thought is that humanity hasn’t evolved enough to live that potentially egalitarian peaceful way of life of selfless service to all. Many communities exist but by necessity live isolated to one degree or another from main stream society. Today I live alone and I am free to practice meditation but I am still contributing to the depletion of our collective resources. However, I am not giving up my optimism for a quantum leap in consciousness for all of humanity. In the meantime keep working on changing myself to express Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. As Dr. Joe Dispenza says, “When we change ourselves, we change the world!” -- I am remaining alert for community operating from a “higher resonance of reality” vs living in an alienated society of dog eat dog.

Some of my key moments from this:
    Terence McKenna quotes:
On Capitalism: “There’s a lot of kind of self-congratulatory back-slapping going around these days, over the fact that communists everywhere are in hot water and have to admit that they did it wrong, and that gives a lot of satisfaction to people who feel that means we did it right. We didn’t do it right. They did it wrong and now admit they did it wrong. We do it wrong and have yet to raise the possibility of turning away from what we’re doing…”
On Culture: “Our culture is in trouble - not in trouble - we are at a terminal crisis, a bifurcation that can go only one of two ways. Either horror beyond your wildest imagination or breakthrough to dignity, decency, community and caring beyond your wildest imagination. Now, where do you look for models, where do you go? The answer is so obvious - you go to nature. Nature has been playing this game for 2 billion years on this planet. Nature has an economy. An elegance. A style, that if we could but emulate it, we could rise out of the rubble that we are making of this planet.”
“Culture is a garment which you put on. Medical systems are pieces of jewellery which wrap around your throat or neck. Religious ideals are like objects which you push through nostrils and earlobes. If we cannot come to terms with that which allows us to give birth with these. To die with dignity, and to live in health, then what kind of a future do we have? No. Future. At all.”
On our abstraction: “Abstraction is the knife poised at our hearts. We are so much the victims of abstraction that with the Earth in flames, we can barely rouse ourselves to wander across the room and look at the thermostat. That’s the level of disimpassioning that abstraction has laid upon us.”
On psychedelics: “The only thing I can preach is the felt presence of immediate experience. Which, for me came through the psychedelics. Which are not drugs, but plants. It’s a perversion of language to try and derail this thing into talk of drugs. There are spirits in the natural world that come to us in this way. And as far as I can tell, this is the only way that they come to us that is rapid enough for it to have an impact on us as a global population.”
On fear: “History is a kind of horrified realisation that something has been lost. That there is an itch hard to scrath in the civilised context. That we have out of fear really, descended into patterns of domination of each other, of the environment, of our children, of our social relations with exogamous groups. We have descended int o a dominator pattern that is basically based on clutching on fear…”
On why there is a feeling of dis-ease: “This is the consequence of ceasing basically to do enough hallucinogens in the diet. From around 100,000 to about 15,000 years ago, human beings were in a flirtatious situation with a symbiotic relationship with this mind, resident in vegetable nature.” He relates it to the relationship between a fish and a sea anemone. “If you take the little fish away from the anemone, it doesn’t die. It doesn’t go into an immediate physiological crisis. No, what happens is it simply has a low body weight and a short life-span. In other words, it is under stress.” “I believe that the lost secret of human emergence, the undefined catalyst that took a very bright monkey and turned that species into a tormented. self-reflecting poet/dreamer. The catalyst has to be sought in these tertiary alkaloids in the food chain that were catalysing higher states of intellectual activity.”

I’ve heard a lot of these recordings. He was very judgmental of very many different “types” and “categories” of people. He changed over time due to what appears to be a desperation for his and his children’s lives. Only in that desperation he seemed to be begging everyone to help.

Enlightenment and Shunyata is precisely peace of no-mind.
The mechanical mind evaporates. So no let’s not forget enlightenment it’s really our only hope. But it’s not a collective enterprise. It’s an individual experience.

  • @mariachong4143

Terry was and was a brilliant man.
He felt what many people tried.
My understanding of him is one of a kind.
My feelings 😪 throughout my life time was harsh .
I am still here, whether I want to be or not.
Trees are special to me, I heard them say once, we will take care of you.
All creations are alive . Red is clear. Clear is red. Black is white, white is black. Red is black, black is red.
Clear water is Red like blood.
You might think I am out there somewhere, I am.
One morning, I took a shower . My shampoo was red. I thought to myself, oh cool.
It was clear. My friend came out of the shower and said to me, "I never seen Red shampoo before."
I said, "Look again in your hand."
In her surprise, the shampoo was clear.
The shampoo was telling us what you think is not what is.
I know all life love us in their own way.
    😊

His recording of, however it happened was a treasure chest revealed. The importance of the "felt presence of experience".

Well, it's good he could. Look around. There be many a dabbler who ends up a babbler, total irrationality to a fault.
But I try not to be critical. I guess it can't be helped.
However brief the encounter with something well beyond your understanding, few it is who don't babble from that snapshot look at the Divine. And to think, it dims itself just in hopes we'll understand something. One can never encompass its light. So it goes I suppose. Excuse me while I adjust my shades. 😉
