My 16 Maxima SR with a CVT smoked this on the highway last night. I was disappointed, because I was thinking about trading the max for one of these...
Your Maxima has a 300 horsepower V6, that's why it smoked the Arteon
I guess if you really want fast, get it chipped at APR & maybe some other aftermarket goodies that I imagine will surely make it to market soon. If every there was VW to modify and tweak more power out of, the Arteon is it.
That turbo lag is SOOOO disappointing. Especially since it’s in sport mode SMH
Isn't 268HP pretty good? The Accord 2.0 has 252HP so it has that beat.
Almost looks like the MK7 EA888 GTi engine. I’m sure a COBB/APR tune will fix the not enough “power” issue
I am so totally mystified about why so many car companies, High end and average car companies use the swiping your foot under the rear bumper technique to unlock the rear hatches and trunks as a standard process. I've always thought that that was a little primitive. The proximity aproach toward the rear of a vehicle technology to automatically unlock the hatches and trunks that Hyundai and Kia vehicles use would be a whole lot more logical and easier to use...am i wrong in my thinking ?..Totally surprised and disappointed 😞 that the Higher end luxury cars companies use the swiping under the bumper technology.
when did dana white start doing car reviews??
I just read an article on why they hid the real exhaust pipes. This is done to eliminate the black soot that comes out of direct injection engines from getting on the exhaust pipe, thus keeping them clean looking.
He thinks the powerful stereo in a car having road noise "will take care of that thing". Well no, you can't simply blast away noise competing with outside noise. Noise forces you to make a uncomfortably loud stereo thus reducing music listening enjoyment.
Who would buy that for $56.900 Canadian. When you can get a Mercedes C43 with 362 horse power !!!!! For the same money !!!
There are certainly faster cars and nicer cars for less money but a c class isn't the right comparison. This thing size wise is probably between an s class and an e class so price comparison should at least be with the larger sedans.
Same engine as an A5 Sportback but 7 MPG less on the HWY?!?
I think the Arteon is closer to the size of the A7 than the A5 sportback. I think that's the reason.
it’s such a shame the great design doesn’t continue in the inside :/
It’s subtle. Could be a little more flashy buts it’s not over the top.
@@jwilson2793 too conservative, too much hard plastics for the price tag
@@markuslc1888 plenty conservative for me lol. Can pick up a used one pretty cheap now, just shy of $30K for an SEL R-Line 4Motion
It's a nice car it's not boring at all .
I have a cc and thinking about replacing that with this until I saw the price! It is way over priced imo. Also whoever thinks that this car is boring had never experienced an APR or Unitronic tune to wake up this car!
Laggy power delivery and poor exhaust note? If only VW marketed an innovative narrow angle inline V6 to fit in transverse front drive cars that was famous for its low end torque and supple auditory stimulation...
It SCREAMS for a VR6 engine.
This car is so mismatched with a two liter engine.
@@cemsengul16 I wouldn't mind if VW would look into turbocharging a smaller displacement VR6 24V in use for higher spec cars in the line...(Audi, and Porsche could use them too if it helps with development costs).
I'm a VW fan and have owned them for years but this car just seems late to the game not sure what it is. I feel you could grab a turbo Accord for less and has nearly the same power for cheaper. I don't know what VW is trying to accomplish with this car the Passat is the Accord-Camry fighter etc.. what is this supposed to be going after? Kia Stinger maybe?
Michael Thorn people who want an Audi A7 or A5 sedan who can’t afford
German cars are the best
Rijad. CZ correct 👍
Know a guy tuned the shit out of this car, said its now a better S5, may God have mercy on his soul
I saw it on the street and had to goodle it. It's not boring
I love it, but for the price it deserves a 6 cylinder. For the same price you can get a Stinger GT with awd that would smoke the Arteon.
Or at least give it the Golf R motor and drivetrain.
Im sure it'll come out with another engine alternative. Right now they just pop this out for good mpg
It's the budget Audi A7. Spend a little more and get it.
Robert Wise
And A7 is like 10k more.
A little more lol you mean double
The exterior design, aside from the very boring grille/lower fascia, is beautiful. The interior is pretty freaking boring, like most VWs.
I'd take a KIA Stinger over the Arteon, one with the twin-turbo V6 of course!
Really? Looks very bland IMO and very similar side profile to a Mondeo (Fusion in US), with a VW grill.
shut up jesus
Why are those slots empty - mass production.
I dont understand What do you mean by beautiful and Boring. If you say Its beautiful thats mean The cars never boring at all Its mean interesting
