    I can't even express how happy I am that you tackled the Revolution last month. My Oplink is Painlessly working this morning in Columbus, Ohio and it wouldn't be without you! Don't ever think that your efforts are not touching a lot of people. Now, I'm going to be setting up my Modes/Rates so I'm off to one of your other videos. Thank You!

    Every time a Painless vid comes on I'm clueless for the 1st 5min,and by the end of the video Im freakin Einstein!!! LOL!!

    I purchased a Revo with the integrated OP Link from another vendor. I spent several hours trying to get the radios to bind. I did happen to notice that the ground radio was on earlier version of LP (15.05 I think) and the the Revo was flashed with 15.09. When that wouldn't work, I finally found and completed the steps to flash the ground radio but it still didn't work.
    (Seems that in your video it worked with the 15.05/15.09 combination, so not sure that was the issue anyway.)
    Finally out of desperation I bumped both ground and air (Revolution integrated) to the highest baud, then magically it started working!

      Glad you got it sorted. We ended up doing something similar to a set of MAVLink radios for an APM build.. Happy flying!

    I am a bit stumped...guess I must be missing a step. When I plug in the ground side to my computer, I get the blue light, which then changes to green. On Librepilot it shows the traffic as stated in your video. On the Librepilot oplink tab it just says "This panel will be updated to provide the relevant controls to let you configure your device once it is connected and running".
    I have tried 3 different computers (Windows 10 and 7), two different USB cables (Both data), and now a 2nd oplink set...it has to be something I am doing wrong.
    Please help!
    Thank you!

      +Cary Christie II I've not played with a cc3d for a very long time now so I am very out of date. The best bet is probably have a look in the forums. Best of luck with it..

      +ronamedee Good question,I have a Sextant 230 frame its absolutely gorgeous,but accessing the USB is a headache,so now it's wall art!! SMH! I can tune gains from the tx,but everthing else requires plug in.

    Can this radio set be configured to work with Ardupilot and Mission Planner?

    • @Painless360

      I've not tried but there are lots of modern, inexpensive options for the Ardupilot builders now. See my videos.. Best of luck!

    What is the purpose of telemetry?? From this video, it looks like the telemetry is the same as the receiver so does that meant the receiver is not needed when a telemetry is installed?

    Hi lee, I have given up on the cc3d Revolution. I just can not get it to work when I have a GPS connected. So I am trying out the Pixhawk 2.4.8 and so far so good and am following your Pixhawk series. Thank you. My question is can I use the Oplink mini radios with Pixhawk in place of the 3dr or other recommended radio systems? I am no expert but i think any 433 Mz telemetry radio should work. However I can not find any examples through Dr Google where someone has done this. Do you have any advice. Please.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd us the right kit for the flight controller you're using. Google for '3dr radio v2' to find them. I added them to a few flight controller like the APM here.. Best of luck!

    Hi +Painless360, excellent video like always. I want to ask you to demonstrate the OPLink functionality, using this link for mission planning and autopilot stuff, and a range test to determine max distance capability of this radio link. I'm new to the AP world and learning a lot from your videos. Thanks a lot! Bye!

    Hi,
    I'm not sure if you can help me, but the problem I am having is that everytime I try to disarm my quad it doesn't do anything. In Librepilot I have managed to get my GPS Ublox M8N and CC3D revolution to work well together, but then after a short while it all fails and the ATTI, STAB & MAG all turn red, which we're all green before.
    I been reading everything I can get my hands on, but the problem still remains the same.
    (I have a Taranis X9D 16CH transmitter and a X8R receiver)
    Thanks in advance :D

      +InterBlue UF Not sure, I'd ask that in the Lobrepilot forums.. Best of luck..

    Hi, Fantastic series as usual, I really appreciate all of your work and effort, which saves the rest of us tons of time trying to figure this all out. Your presentation style is crisp, concise and easy to follow. I enjoy this and all of your other series as well. I have been using APM for a couple of years now, but I am thinking of trying out the CC3D Revo. Use the CC3D EVO and Atom for non-GPS flying and really like how the craft handles. Any chance you could do a pros and cons between this and the APM/Pixhawk and Revo platform? Thanks much and keep up the great work.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      CC3D Revo software is still too new and untested with key features (like external mag) not supported yet. Pixhawk/PixRacer is rock solid and dependable - good enough ;)

    Great videos have really helped with setting up this flight controller ..my revo had built in oplink they turn the power off in the config to stop you burning out the tx.
    The gps was also different more like the Naza unit and already configured...(banggood)
    the only issue left is when i select any gps mode "RTB" i get a config error and the unit will not arm ...the gps appears to be working correctly green 7 sat lock signal strength from each sat displayed ...config complete. home position locked in flight data .... any thoughts?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ian Maxwell Lots, the GPS has to be setup with the modes. So much to do, in fact, that we are going to do another video on using GPS flight modes.. (look into INS13 - librepilot.atlassian.net/wiki/display/LPDOC/INS13+-+GPS+Navigation) Stay tuned!

    • @Painless360

      +Nikolas Kurnia Good question. Too long to explain in detail so here is the simple version - think of the OpLink radios as a USB cable connection... Happy flying!

    Hello my friend is it possible to use a Oplink with the Revolution (built in modem) a futaba radio t10j and race Flight?
    And can I get telemetry also?
    Like batterywoltage?
    Thanks again for supporting our cause in Sweden !

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the hardware should be ok but I've not tried it with Raceflight. You'd need something like Dronin or Librepilot, I think. Sorry I can't be more specific as we've not tried it here. Looks like there may be a loophole in the new laws you guys have been saddled with - I hope it means you can all fly FPV again..

    • @johncgibson4720
      @johncgibson4720 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      But, if you mainly fly with GPS flight path mode, the RC transmitter is not used so much, right?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      John C G not really, This isn't military grade tech, youngsters will go wrong so having failsafe and the ability to arm and fly traditionally is very important. Best of luck

    thanks for awesome tutorial. but I have a problem with the telemetry not showing the movement of my hexacopter on the map. The gps is connected and I do have 3D lock.
    I would love to move forward and do soma GPS autonomous flights but I wont try unless I get my position moving on the map.
    I will appreciate any help :)

    Thanks for the video, I'm having a problem when I plug in the oplink mini to the usb it will reconize it and connect in libre but I don't have the oplink under the txpid. Its not that I need to scroll down, I updated to the same as version as my revo with onboard oplink, now the revo when connected does show the oplink button to click on but without the ground set up I can't connect? Any suggestions? What operating system are you using on the computer?

    • @SiriusPilot

      It was the OS, was using windows 10, plugged it into windows 7 and bang came right on. :D And if you want to backup firmware, hit rescue, plug it in then you can flash or back it up.

    Hi, I have the revo board with oplink on it. I was unaware of the antena issue and did turn it on without antena BUT using USB power NOT 3s batt power, did I already ruined the oplink inside the revo board or since it was powered by a weaker source (USB cable) I might be safe ?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be ok if the module didn't power up.. Fingers crossed..

    • @proctoidpaul
      @proctoidpaul 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did the same thing. I was OK. I think my Revo came with transmission disabled (0 mw) as default (hopefully yours did too.) I actually spent a bunch of time trying to figure out why it said the unit was "disabled". Bumping the wattage up "enabled" it. Net, my guess is that you're ok w/o antenna so long as you disable the transmission with 0 watts.

    • @rpetresco
      @rpetresco 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul O'Neal thank you for the comment. I will need to wait my oplink ground unit to arrive to make sure it is ok. Hopefully it will be as you described.

      Painless360 Just another question. I just bought a new GPS with compass together. It is meant for cc3d and have already that awfully small conector to fit into cc3d flexiport. Actually it has 2 conectors one with 4 wires for GPS and another with 2 for external magnetometer. However I must wait the librepilot next version to support this. Can you guess how long this will take ? Weeks ? Months ? Years ? I apreciate a guess. If it will take too long I will switch to ardupilot or apm or other

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, it's not something we've tried here. A lot of developers are adding in FrSky telemetry into the code now (look at the Pixhawk for example) so fingers crossed LibrePilot does the same..
