I never thought I'd consider buying a non-Toyota product, but I'm seriously thinking about buying the new Nissan Frontier precisely because Toyota failed to include a V-6 option in their new Tacoma. I can't see myself spending a huge amount for a 4-cylinder truck. Give me a normally aspirated V-6 engine without a turbo and I'll be happy.
I just traded my 2015 Trd sport for a new pro 4x. I don’t regret it a bit. Hopefully it’ll last long enough to make me not care about the resale value.
I've had five new Toyotas in the last 20 years but was looking for a truck that wasn't so huge as the full size ones. IMHO the Tacoma doesn't measure up to the Frontier. One drive in the Frontier and I was sold. It handles extremely well and after four months of ownership, I'd buy it again. It may not have the same resale value as my Toyotas, but I paid thousands less for it to start with.
3 things you don’t like: - Lumbar support : The lumbar adjustment is on the right side of the driver seat, adjust it and see if it’s a more comfortable ride for you. -Issues with your screen performance: I believe you’re having an issue, my 2024 Pro 4x reaction is way more reactive than yours. I would take it back to the dealership and see if they can help you figure that out. -Plastic on the dash and door caps: This has the be a more UV resistant material, hence the hard Plastic, but I agree with you, in general, they could use less plastic in all. Hope this helps!
Great review, this is my 5th frontier, zero issues, Amazing re-sell *your lumbar support is completely adjustable on the right side of your drivers seat, looks to be adjusted all the way up in your video. Best!
I was in the market for a truck recently and was so sold on buying a 3rd gen Tacoma. Ultimately I loved the styling of the new 4th Gen tacomas, but couldn't justify paying the prices. I had really looked down my nose at Nissan trucks, especially when you consider them discontinuing the Titan. When i really started to dig into WHY I wanted the 3rd Gen Tacoma (2020+), the Frontier Pro-4x gave me just about everything i wanted from 3G taco, and even exceeded the tacoma in some areas. Transmission, NA V6, interior styling, infotainment setup, A/C blows SO SO cold, to name a few. I ended up buying a used '22 Pro-4x fully loaded w/ 16k miles for a price where I wouldn't have even sniffed a similarly loaded '22 TRD Off-Road in the same range. So the fronty came home with me. I am so happy with my decision.
I was always a Toyota guy and couldn't stand Nissan. I took a chance on a 2016 Frontier and loved it! After many miles, I purchased a 2019 Frontier and loved it. My only complaint on those two was the horrible turning radius! I often felt like Austin Powers turning that golf cart around in the hallway. It was embarrassing! My 2023 Pro 4X has a MUCH better turning radius!! It doesn't sound as good as the other 2, but it still sounds pretty good. My biggest complaint is the gas door always comes open in the car wash. It's just a matter of time before it gets torn off!
I was a Toyota guy as well and went for an Xterra because the Toyota tax was ridiculous on 4runners now I drive a 23 Titan pro4x lifted and love Nissan trucks.
I have a Pro 4x 2023. Cruise control is horrendous, drops gears at the slightest incline. I question the reliability of the fuel gage too. Other than that, I love it.
I never use cruise control, and I expect all new automatic transmissions to seek out gears that get the best gas mileage. So your complaints are moot points for me.
The dude said drops gears at the slightest incline and you read that as gear hunting for better gas mileage. That's exactly the opposite of being fuel efficient. It's drops gears to get up to speed as fast as it can. And he's right, it is horrible. So you're response is moot @@robertvasquez240
Man I thought I was going crazy for a second, I knew I had seen this before I got my pro 4x back in july but the upload date was throwing me off till I noticed the channel 😂😂😂
I own the 2021 with the midnight package , I’m happy cause I was able to put the white 6000 led light bulbs , and it came with 265-60-70 tires after all , I love it , is my little toy .
After almost a year of ownership my only complaints are the drivers window armrest is too hard and uncomfy. Wheel wells should be bigger, can only get 33's on, anything larger requires trimming which is annoying. Cruise control is insane, it drops the hammer to 5000rpms on a 1% incline. Remote start only runs twice for 10 mins each, not enough time to warm it up when it's -40 out. Outside of that it's been an excellent truck. Especially for the price.
Nissan released a Technical Service Bulletin (NTB24-005) last month to fix the crazy cruise control over-revving problem. If your truck has the correct ICC part number, which it should, the dealer will upload new software and the cruise control will shift like its supposed to. It'll drive like a completely different truck, in a good way.
Great video. Thanks. As for the seats I think it’s because they are leather. Better to have cloth seats and then Scotchguard them. I say this because of experience.
I just watched your review on the 2023 Nissan Pro 4X I had owned one for 16 months and I thought your review was very good except you might’ve missed a couple things starting with one. It doesn’t have any telescopic steering which limits you to the size of driver Two there is a lumbar adjustment they just don’t make it obvious to see it’s on the right side of the driver seat three the backseat is the worst in that segment. The sitting position is very uncomfortable. There is no room when you put car seats in there the kids have no room for their feet. Four the turning radius is terrible five the gas consumption could be a lot better for that size vehicle. six the backseats do fall down. Unfortunately, you have to take the head bumpers off and with the subwoofer underneath the driver side backseat it takes away from storage quite a bit. but all in all I think for what you can pay for one of these it’s not a bad buy compared to some of the other vehicles in that segment I’ve done extensive research on all of them and I driven Pickup trucks all my life for 40 years plus, I’m at the time of my life where I need to downsize and I found it for as much as I use a Pickup for what I use it for the Honda Ridgeline was by far away the best vehicle in that category for storage comfortability, luxury, materials, longevity, and resell
I am on my second PRO-4X. The Seats are the most comfortable that I have ever had. Long Trip was awesome. I have not sat in an Infiniti, but I am a fan of the Frontier Seats.
I believe it is real leather actually. As for reliability, there are some older Frontiers still running around. 400k might be pushing it but the engine and transmission in this one have been used on older models of the Frontier so it should be generally reliable.
I gave it the scratch test usually real leather will show a scratch mark on surface when scratch with fingernail and you right maybee 400 k pushing it but im going to try😅@SchwayZ_Reviews
I like it and would consider it, but two things i don't like are: 1) direct injection engine without port injection to keep the intake valves clean, 2) no six foot or longer bed.
That engine blew up on me for no reason in 2022 i was driving a 30 mile drive to my house and come to find out the headgasket blew and knew nothing of it and they wanted to try and blame me not reliable at all
How is this the best midsize ? That’s crazy. Better than the old one yes. But that’s it. Old outdated looking interior. Not class leading in power. Not even close ! Not fast at all! Small rear seat that’s really upright and uncomfortable no rear hvac truck suck brotha. Sound that you’re telling us facts but you aren’t. So just say in your opinion this is a good truck.
I know it’s class leading on standard power? These comments are ridiculous, people have an ocean of knowledge at their fingertips but won’t take the 15 secs it takes to google how wrong they are. Smfh
Nissan copied the body style of the Toyota Tacoma. Lame. The GM trucks did as well. I guess when the best selling midsized truck by far is the Tacoma you would expect that other companies would copy the looks. When you sit in the rear seats you sit straight up. There is no decline in the seat back. The rear sliding window is not powered. You have to actually get in the rear seat and slide the window open yourself. What I do like about this truck is the price. Toyota has many more features in their upper level midsized truck models but you’re going to pay for them. The Nissan is a decent off-roader truck with the rear axle locker and would be more capable off road with better AT tires.
Trucks look like trucks Einstein. Not much to differentiate from. It also DOES NOT look like the 2023 Tacoma. It looks closer to the early 90’s Nissan hardbody trucks and SUV. So who copied who?
The LUMBAR adjustment lever is on the right side of the seat. Its manual though. But it works well.

I'm the same way love toyota but man the new price is crazy
I love mine. Scotty Kilmer likes theses trucks. He says these are 90% as good as the Toyota's. They are also about 10 K cheaper.
I just traded my 2015 Trd sport for a new pro 4x. I don’t regret it a bit. Hopefully it’ll last long enough to make me not care about the resale value.

@@robertvasquez240 except revving to 6000rpm on a 2% grade when doing highway speed isn't at all close to gas mileage.

That’s because of the 9 speed transmission.
@jensvincent4702 there is a tsb out to fix the issue of over revving.

Nothing wrong the seats , they are perfect!
Dude you have the lumbar support fully actuated lol
Awesome video man, Track system is the same as the prior gen. Have 19 P4X. The only difference on bed is the plug and light. The size is the same.

They will steal those bed rail anchors.
Pro-X King Cab 6' Long Bed with sliding rear window, any color but black for Florida.
The front seats are zero gravity seats.
Very informative.
Not a fan of leather seats or the lava red interior. I opted for the SV version and saved about 5k.
The plastic doesn't bother me as much as the piano black sections 🥴
The Pro 4X looks so much better with a 1.5" lift, this is how they should come factory-installed
I noticed his doesn’t have the idle stop system which is good I think that’s the dumbs thing Nissan ever came up with .
Wish they had rear airflow vent , an why would you have a key glove box , when it keyless entry
The metal key inside the fob.
Bed needs to be a foot longer
Nice video, the seats are not real leather though right ? This truck could last 400k?

Still running a 2008 and motor runs like brand new!
No telescoping steering wheel. As a taller person, it's critical for your back. Otherwise I loved it but was a deal breaker.
Even if you say you don’t like three things, Nissan will not listen to you to address them. You are a customer
If only they improved the turning radius.
Do you own it?
I like it and would consider it, but two things i don't like are: 1) direct injection engine without port injection to keep the intake valves clean, 2) no six foot or longer bed.
I added a catch can
I had a bed extender on my canyon. Worked pretty well if you needed the extra length, but I agree, 6 foot bed would be preferred
6 foot bed is an option
on SV only
Tons of storage……lol….i own one…exact model….no….no storage.
The frontier is a way heavier truck than the Tacoma
its because the frame is fully boxed but now the Tacoma is the same weight because its fully boxed in 24
Any pickup with a 5 ft bed and 4 doors is considered an SUV. 😊
Screen is nice….lots of glare. Shitty backup camera.
