Wild man Tim. Testing an experimental turbo tractor charged tractor and not wearing a helmet, driving gloves or fire suit. WOW!!! It looks like that turbo really does well. Impressive.
I use a land plane quite often and you can really tell the difference with the turbo in your video! The other 2 jobs that really bog down my 1025r are mowing with a mulching kit and snow blowing. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Nice job with the land plane. Your little green machine is sounding good. You mentioned redoing the end of the driveway with a new culvert. When you do I would sure recommend paving the 20-30 feet next to the road, because you will never stop people from spinning tires.
Wow what a difference in power! Johnny X now has ‘X-cellent power.’ A very nice job on the turbo fabrication and install. Well done. Sounds like a big rig! (Would love to see something for them orange tractors someday.) 😉
Love Johnny-X results! SO happy to see it performing in a positive way! Exactly what I was hoping to see! Wishing you God's continued Blessings throughout this new year! Love the channel!
The land plane does a great job. The extra power is obvious when you’re pulling the box full of stone. Quite impressive. What a debut for Johnny X. Blessings and a Happy New Year!
I'm thinking the same with the land plane. I have a box blade right now, but I think the land plane for my driveway would be a better way to go, except my driveway isn't that long, its wide and its a circular driveway, but even so, the land plane I think would work better.
Nice!!! If ADS does make a kit hopefully as a perk they include a set of "TURBO" stickers that match the arch of the fenders to to put on the tractor. Looking forward to more head to head comparisons between the two Johnny's.
Love you videos Tim and Christy . I've watched your videos for about 5 years and bought my first tractor back in March. I have to say your videos are informative and enjoyable keep up the good work
My buddy has trash truck pickup, and keeps 2 semi’s in his yard. He uses big chunks of concrete fill, and then 3-4” stone, then puts the small stuff like you have on top. It holds very well, repairs only really needed about every other year.
I have to agree with Ben T. I have also used a land plane extensively, maintaining a mile long easement road. The gravel load you had in there would bog my tractor down quite a bit. Pretty impressive. Sounds cool, too.
Tim Johnny X is super charged and it's green. I'm thinkin a good name would be the Super Pickle. In 1980 Amtoys made a stuffed pickle wearing a cape called Super Pickle. You can still find them on eBay if you need company on the tractor.
A land plane is the best attachment I own. We are building a new acreage with a 1/4 mile drive and am doing quite a bit of the rough-to-finish landscape shaping with our 4066r and 7ft land plane. Scarifiers are a must if you are looking for one. Like any attachment, learning how to adjust and adapt the tool to the job makes a tremendous difference.
For your driveway extension you could try cutting out a couple inches of dirt and putting in some bigger rock like 1's and 2's as a base and then your smaller stone with the fines to help lock it in. Love your videos. Appreciate your time testing out things for us.
*sets pen and paper down* Yep, no longer grading and keeping score. lol. I like the idea of pen stripes or flames on it to tell the difference. Just have to be careful if using power washer so you don't blow the decals off. Great suggestions Ken G and Dean.
I used to be a prime General Contractor in South Carolina I did Demolition too I had 220 size trackhoes New Holland Skid Steers if something tore up I just got the dealer to fix it TTWT has taught me so much I could have saved thousands
You have done great, that has made a big change in the 1025,now you can sat 1038R good luck with the experiment ,hope everything goes good for you,Happy New Year
Wow! Quite the difference between the two, even the sound. I could tell it was Johnny "X" that you brought up after the stock one because of the turbo whistle. Can't wait to see what you guys do next!
that is so cool! We actually can hear the turbo running on Johnny X!:D I think it would be cool if you would just name it a 1038R, that would look very good!:D
You do a really nice job with that tractor. My first tractor a JD 2032 2ill be here in a few weeks and I have quite a bit of gravel work to do on my driveway. I'm learning a lot watching your videos.
I really like what you've done w Johnny X. He's performing like a happy tractor. I'd like to see the prioritized hydraulic splitter and a bit thicker pump (10 or 11cc - extreme!) on him to take advantage of the additional power when using a backhoe or something impossible for a regular 1025r (Limbsaw? Mulcher?). Looking to do the same soon to my red beast ASAP. Nice work, nice results prove it! 1025x works... 1040r? 1025xr? Yeah, consider keeping the 25 in the name just for emissions!!! I wouldn't touch the pressure unless you find a need for it, but more flow is awesome.
Hats off to ADS for the sound engineering of the turbo. It starts there. Of course it's early in seeing the potential long range benefits and usefulness of the turbo addition, but it is trending in a positive direction from this video. Sure there may be additional ways of taking advantage of this new power, ie. hydro transmission, but I am sure Tim is already thinking ten steps ahead in the experts he might consult next as this test platform is used revealing its weaknesses and strengths and where reasonable tweaks can be made to enhance/strengthen this machines capabilities. Happy New Year Tim and Christy.
That was a good test to see the difference in engine power . I'm interested to see the PTO horsepower comparison now , bush hog , tiller etc etc . Thanks to you both for the excellent video as always . God bless guys!
This is what I'm really interested in. The engine has more power but its now restricted by the hydraulic pressure the other components are limited to. I wonder about an increase in the hydrostatic pressure relief valve now the engine can handle more, but I'd be concerned the transmission wouldn't handle the extra torque. Thankyou for effectively doing my research for me 👍❤😁 pray you have a fantastic new yr
It is great to finally get to see the 1038X in action. Also good to hear some wise word of advice on setting up the equipment to where it gets the job done that you want and ignore the trolls (paraphrasing)
Great real work experiment with the Turbo. Can hear Johnny maintaining RPM"S so Turbo must be working perfectly. I would suggest that in to help fix your driveway in front of your dumpster, would be to dig out what you have and the top layer of stone and sod and place 4-6" of 4" stone (AASHTO #1) top dressed by what you have on your driveway. That should hold up to whatever you drive across it.
Love the videos! Where you’re having rut issues, that area really needs dug down to clay filled with bigger rock underneath like #4 and then put your smaller rock like 53 on top. That topsoil will just turn to muck then spread out with the weight of the truck when it’s wet
I’d like to see more side by side comparison working on projects with both Johnnys. It would have been nice to see the land plane on the other machine. Please make more comparison videos.
Very nice demo on the 1025R! Looking forward to more. Please don't change the badge number, just add TURBO to it. It really blows peoples minds that know anything about sub compacts. They are like " i didn't know J D made them with turbo!" Haha!
I expect it is too early to have data - but how about fuel consumption? Does it appear to be changing much as the turbo runs WOT? Excellent video series thanks.
That's exactly what I thought as well. That's just from using the machine. The valving will have to be adjusted to increase hydraulic pressure (as long as it's capable).
I would like to see how this added power would work on a chipper and a stump grinder. I have both. My 2021 1025 r handles them both great. But you can never have enough power.
Ya pto implements is where this turbo will shine! From Tim’s videos we see that JD has the hydro very well balanced with engine power from the factory.
I think it’s quite the improvement with the turbo. I’ve been watching and thinking how I could adapt that to my x595. :D It is nice to see that sometimes you let it go at good enough and point out where you didn’t get the results or setting the way you intended. I look forward to see how you deal with the driveway entrance. Visiting my in-laws, their driveway has a bit more severe incline to the road and I was just thinking how I could work to improve it.
I am not a green owner, but I think that it would be a great idea to have the turbo kit available. Especially for those of us that can't resist tractor mods. Thanks Tim.
That pulled that land pane great in your older vids u could hear the tractor bog down not any more that how compact tractor should be made but the epa is a fun killer with the exuast filter rules on stuff with more then 26 hp
You might want to consider washed gravel next time Tim. I know it sounds stupid, but I'm really quite impressed with how much washed gravel packs and holds almost as if it were paved vs the crusher run stuff. Really saves a lot of money in the longer run too.
that video was very impressive to see how well Jonny X was performing low and high gear....what will be helpful to see is it this spring or summer cutting with a 4ft brush hog and then a 5ft brush hog as well not only on level ground but going up hill...i know a lot of others have commented on the 1025r lagging going up hill cutting brush......what also would be nice to see it help out in the fields doing hay and other farm work that it can for it size with even a bailer and other attachments running on the rear pto and hydrolic system.....we are all glue'd to see what Jonny X can acomplish....
Tim, I think the turbo was definitely the cherry on top, but since you still have the other tractors I think Johnny X should find his niche. Maybe you should stick ag tires on and get some welded on wheel weights on the front. That thing is definitely starting to look like your green Lamborghini.
Tim on building your drive higher using rocks, while it may keep water off of your vehicle, I believe water will continue to pool in the driveway and continue to cause all of the issues with a softer base under the rock. It is difficult to get a feel for your property from video. In my experience with property in hills and in flat land, ditches along side your driveway are the first thing to do. Avoid a ridge between the driveway and the ditch and work on drainage from the ditch to off of your property. Of course you also want drainage from the yard into the ditch also with that water also flowing off your property. Ditch size is based upon the flowing water you need to handle and where you want it to drain.
My road is a fair bit narrower than yours, but I have 60' of culvert pipe to enable tractor trailer access both pulling in or backing in so I'm sure you would be safe with 60'. I would suggest pulling that stone back (in front of the dumpster) and getting larger base stone to put under your top dressing stone, you can do that when you get stone for widening the end of the driveway. How's the stone base holding up in the tarp building?
No issues with stone base at in or around the tarp building. Strangely enough, roadpack (53's or 73's) usually works better than large base stone. In this case, It hasn't dried up since we placed the original rock there. I believe once it dries up once, it will be fine. Of course, this is/was a low place which holds water.
Hey Tim you might try getting some bigger rock where the trash truck runs and where you drive when you pull your gooseneck. I’ve used 6” sized rock then top dressed it with 3/4” to dust that seems to hold up my big truck better and doesn’t push the smaller rock down as easy. Basically the bigger rock under the smaller stuff helps distribute and displace the weight more evenly. Just giving my opinion love the videos and seeing others techniques to accomplish a certain task with the equipment they have.
Because this is a hydraulic control, what you've done is given the tractor all the "headroom" it can handle. Hydraulic HP is limited by pressure and flow. What Deere did when designing it was match the HP of the engine and the Hydraulics. Which is exactly what you realized in the push test. You only have 25 hydraulic HP available ever, but quite a bit more at the engine which is why it doesn't bog and stall. This is actually should still be a safe situation as long as you don't change pumps or pressures. This is a really cool series! I want to see loader lift tests, and tiller tests.
40 ft culvert really good for semis from 1 I understand you may want to get it ordered and have it sitting there for next year things are going to become a shortage of just letting you know heads up on there may be a shortage so if you can get it now get it you want to sit there till next summer take care God bless and happy New Year
When I watched the hp test, I have to say that I was disappointed. Only 32 hp? Then it hit me, that was 32 hp at the PTO! So it went from 18 to 32hp at the PTO. Nice! So that’s more hp at the PTO than Tim’s 2038r! Very nice...
Wild man Tim. Testing an experimental turbo tractor charged tractor and not wearing a helmet, driving gloves or fire suit. WOW!!!
It looks like that turbo really does well. Impressive.
OR SEAT BELT!
@@harold1098 LOL Yup
@Harold Yep! I’m lucky to still be alive!
Looking forward to more 1025x videos in the future. Thanks for showing the turbo 1025x in action.
I use a land plane quite often and you can really tell the difference with the turbo in your video! The other 2 jobs that really bog down my 1025r are mowing with a mulching kit and snow blowing. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Yes, those would be two places that would definitely benefit from the turbo set up.
John Deere should pay you for all the amazing content and expirements you've done its so cool. Long live the 1025r and ttwt
You can sure hear the whistle when you start up Johnny X. Cool project Tim!
I’m a small tractor guy and enjoy watching but I really enjoy the scripture at the end of each video and glad you’re now reading it
Your smile and laughter when you heard the whistle was worth the getting the turbo! Happy New Year.
Tim the tractor man Taylor? Moooore power!!! Grunt grunt grunt...
Thanks for sharing this. I am excited to see it perform other tasks with different attachments.
I think ADS has created 2 monsters, Johnny X and Tim! Tractor sounds great, looking forward to more videos. Thanks Tim!
Nice job with the land plane. Your little green machine is sounding good. You mentioned redoing the end of the driveway with a new culvert. When you do I would sure recommend paving the 20-30 feet next to the road, because you will never stop people from spinning tires.

Johnny X now has ‘X-cellent power.’
A very nice job on the turbo fabrication and install. Well done. Sounds like a big rig! (Would love to see something for them orange tractors someday.) 😉
I can’t wait to see how much better your rear pto implements perform. I bet the rototiller and brush cutter perform very well.
thanks for the demonstration. I find this very interesting and hope to see more in upcoming episodes. Great job!!!!
Love Johnny-X results! SO happy to see it performing in a positive way! Exactly what I was hoping to see! Wishing you God's continued Blessings throughout this new year! Love the channel!

Great footage. Thank you for sharing all your information with your viewers. Happy new year
Glad to see the Johnny X is alive and kicking :-)
Yep!
Definitely more power with the turbo full of stone and not bogged down nice video Tim
That turbo sure made a big difference in power! Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day! Happy New Year!
Tim it's been so warm and stormy here in KY that my poplar trees have green buds on them! It's nuts!!!
Another great episode of Tractor Time With Tim !
That turbo whistle at startup is SICK! I love the land plane. I'd rather have one of those than a box blade, personally.
I'm thinking the same with the land plane. I have a box blade right now, but I think the land plane for my driveway would be a better way to go, except my driveway isn't that long, its wide and its a circular driveway, but even so, the land plane I think would work better.
A bottom plow comparison would be nice! Yellow John Deere style turbo decals are a must! Lil' tractor sure sounds good with the turbo!
I have to say your videos are informative and enjoyable keep up the good work
Hey Tim 🚜 I really enjoyed this video The tractor looks strong I think the landplane is working well
Tim & Christi, your 1038R sounds great. Happy New Year!
You can really tell a difference with the extra power from the turbo thanks for another great video and have a happy new year.
Keep up the great work Tim and Christy. I love your channel. All the best for 2022.
Thanks, Kevin!
That’s awesome! 1038x 👍

God bless you and your family Tim 😎
💥 Definitely going to need to see some more testing. Happy new year. 🎉
*Keep on tractoring!*
Looking forward to the pull tests..
The whistle appeases me!!
Wow! Quite the difference between the two, even the sound. I could tell it was Johnny "X" that you brought up after the stock one because of the turbo whistle. Can't wait to see what you guys do next!
Looking good old boy !!!!!
Really like this land plane. Sometimes while I'm at work I see parking lots made of stone and I just look at them as testing grounds.
that is so cool! We actually can hear the turbo running on Johnny X!:D I think it would be cool if you would just name it a 1038R, that would look very good!:D

Could definitely hear that little turbo 😂

Happy New Year to one n all Tim! :)
Seems like a little extra turbo to Johnny X has done him a power of good! :)
Are you going to eventually combine this with the hydrosplus pump upgrade?
I expect it is too early to have data - but how about fuel consumption? Does it appear to be changing much as the turbo runs WOT? Excellent video series thanks.
I’d be interested to see you put in a hydros plus hydraulic pump with the turbo to see how the X handles the implements
That wikd definitely be an interesting project.
Ah hahaha I could tell as soon as you started johnny X that it's not stock it's sounds awesome
That's exactly what I thought as well. That's just from using the machine. The valving will have to be adjusted to increase hydraulic pressure (as long as it's capable).

Try using a little bit of crushed concrete like 57s sized crushed concrete if it keeps getting ruts!
Awesome video as usual

You got to love that throaty growl.
I like that turbo sound! Can't hear it when throttle is up though.
This is what I like to see. Testing.

OkO I really enjoyed all. Of the show
Tim, I think the turbo was definitely the cherry on top, but since you still have the other tractors I think Johnny X should find his niche. Maybe you should stick ag tires on and get some welded on wheel weights on the front.
That thing is definitely starting to look like your green Lamborghini.
That's awesome. I've been kicking the idea of a turbo on my Kubota L2501. Sounds great and seems way more efficient.
Wish you both Happy New Year !
The landplane does a really nice job 👍🏻. I’m sure you’ll be adding some nice Turbo decals 👍🏻. Happy New Year and all the best for 2022 🙋🏼♂️🙂👍🏻🎊🍾
Happy New Year Tim and Christy, enjoy your videos as always.
I want, I want, I want one for my 1026R!!! I'd put those blue X's on mine and be PROUD!
Because this is a hydraulic control, what you've done is given the tractor all the "headroom" it can handle. Hydraulic HP is limited by pressure and flow. What Deere did when designing it was match the HP of the engine and the Hydraulics. Which is exactly what you realized in the push test. I want to see loader lift tests, and tiller tests.
Lift capacity will not be affected
Its a 1044r. 25 hp initial/18 =1.39 x 32 = ~ 44 hp considering the losses are in percentages.
HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS HAVE A DAY LOVE FROM TEXAS
I’ve had similar issues with the road end of my gravel driveway. The fix for me was to install a hard surface at the road end.
Good plan.
