Great review! I have an I3 and have to, or choose to charge it everyday. I'm wondering is you have to charge the 330e at all? Can you essentially drive it till the battery is empty and keep driving on the petrol engine?
Sorry if it was hard to hear, it will charge with a public Level 1 (120v) and Level 2 (220v) charger. But it will not be able to utilize a Level 3 DC quick charger (480v).
Hi there, this one looks nicely spec with the cameras and sensors... how much cost you to maintain overall like oil change + filter, breaks, AC etc compared with non hybrid version? or is it the same price across all 3 series...? Thanks
i drove this car about a week ago, the steering was amazing 10/10. The quietness was pretty good. And it still feels like a bmw, it has a awesome sound when you step on the gas pedal. Anyways, thanks for the review. :)
Nope. With the car running, the engine/kinetic energy is always topping up the battery/powering the motor. If you're 40km into a journey and the battery hits zero, you should not loose any power.
+styggederrik very strong jolt. also annoying when inching forward at stop signs, or waiting for opposing traffic to pass and then trying to accelerate quickly before opposing traffic makes the turn impossible. it's like having a 2 second throttle response. I'm very used to the shark injector in my E46.
That is exactly on point on the issues the regular gas BMW have with start stop. I like how the electric motor gives an assist to the gas engine so it has enough time to start. On paper, doesn't seem like a big deal but in real world driving, it's night and day
If I remember correctly, BMW gives a 8 year warranty on it. People need to freak out a lot less on these batteries. They're not like your cellphone batteries as they never truly get 100% discharged. They have failsafes built in to prevent memory effect. Look at the first gen prius, they're still fine. I believe Motor Trend did a test on a high milage prius vs a low milage prius and couldn't find a difference in fuel efficiency
Yes, you can drive it like any other car. The traction control is supposed to be even more sensitive since electric motors are supposed to be easier to modulate.
Does this one have "Side View"? I saw it in some reviews with the camereas in the front bumper but it looks like it is impossible to order it in Europe right now!? Is side view maybe inculded when ordered "Surround View"?
I figured it out, the cars i saw until now didn't have Surround View. If you order Surround View you get Side View included. If you want Side View, you have to order Surround View.
You don't have to charge it. You can just drive like a normal car and when the petrol engine is running it will even charge the battery while driving. This is a great way to have the power and the range on the highway, but be clean and efficient driving full electric through towns and city's
What was the longest EV only mode did you get? BMW said it can get up to 25 Miles, but most drivers will get less.
Great video; I added it to the "330e videos from around the world" -playlist on my channel. Also, keep up the good work! :-)

creativecatalyst1 yes
That's a big 10 4!
did you lease or buy?
great review! thanks for your input i so want one
Great video! Not sure I heard you right, but you said that it is not possible to charge the car through public chargers?

Im looking for a hybrid to daily.
But love BMW quality
Nice review ! Thanks
could you please make some more videos of driving the 330e? just love the car

Awesome video:). Like many others, I would rly want the car, waaaaaay better then the i3.
To bad there isn't a touring 330e version yet.
Let me tell you something..😉
@n there is an 330e touring out now
this car doenst have a digital velocimeter?
No adaptive cruise control or electronic handbrake in 2016?! My 2014 golf GTD hand both these
It’s a bmw , normal handbrake a lot better for rear wheel drive :) you can get adaptive cruise on then
Does it have dynamic/adaptive cruise?
It is an option but was not on the car in the video
Hello , will it effect the performance if battery empty ?
Nope. With the car running, the engine/kinetic energy is always topping up the battery/powering the motor. If you're 40km into a journey and the battery hits zero, you should not loose any power.
Can it use both electric and petrol engine at the same time? Like is there a sport mode? You know, it has 252hp and 420nm!!
Yes there is! Very end of the video, I do a full on acceleration with sport and manual shift program. The mpg guage says eBoost when at full power
DragonNinja21 oh, ok. I have not watched it trough yet..
i'm glad they fixed the start/stop jolt. very annoying.
It was the first thing I was looking at when I drove the car. Start/stop drives me mad!
what was wrong with it?

Thanks for prompt answer, never felt it was too slow, maybe different from US to EU cars!?
any idea how long the battery will last before you need to have it replaced? What is the cost of replacement?

8:02 does this car have a starter battery? or does it always use the electric motor to turn the wheels which then gets used to start up the engine
From my understanding, it still does but it is only for the in car accessories. The electric motor for EV starts the engine as the car is rolling
can you drive in snowy and icy road conditions?
Yes, you can drive it like any other car. The traction control is supposed to be even more sensitive since electric motors are supposed to be easier to modulate.
On electric you can`t drive far 25-30km. If will be 50-70km it is ok.
I can drive 60 km on electric
@@Mark_B544 what year is the car

+styggederrik I believe the sideview is included in the surround view. Not sure how the options vary in Europe.
+DragonNinja21 like i said. you have to order surround view to get side view
+styggederrik of course, it is not standard here either. I like the extra insurance when parking in tight places so I'd get it
+DragonNinja21 i ordered it too. Just dropped parking assist, i am never parking like that anyway. :)
I bet this would be very annoying constantly charging it

Show something besides the gauge cluster.
my daily commute is 50 miles. Is this any good for me ?
If you're looking for pure electric driving, it'll be short but it should obtain very good fuel consumption though still
what will be the consumption on a trip like that ?
you need prius or ioniq, 50 miles is a lot
Nice car !! If we still were in 2002 !!
Get mine delivery Monday :) mwahahahahah
Myles Clayton you have had the car for a while now / or sold it. So what are your thoughts on it?
Saw it on truecar.com for 30k 2016...
