    I ve been working as software engineer for many years and I remember these periods right before the final rollout, when we were still implementing changes and correcting bugs till late evening, while PMs and steering committees wanted to meet the original deadline. As project manager today, I have experienced both approaches and I would go with waterfall whenever is needed for a small project and/or one that is similar to a past one , in any case clear requirements and stable scope are necessary.

    • @AdrianaGirdler

      I couldn’t agree more, clear requirements and a solid scope are essential. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!

    I have heard of agile pm but not waterfall pm. You explanation was great especially with the example of construction. I can see how this type of project management would be good for smaller projects that would follow a very linear fashion of completion. Thanks for the insight.

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely, Heather. Waterfall project management started in non-software industries like manufacturing and construction, where phases must start in sequential order. Thanks for watching!

  • @KateMurray

    Never heard of "Waterfall PM" although it sounds really impressive especially for a type-A! I think I already like this methodology over agile!!

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kate! Waterfall PM is a more structured methodology. While agile has more flexibility. They are both great, just depends on the project - but it'd work well with a type-A, lol!
