This is full grain leather, one of the best quality leathers and similar to what the originals had, modern leathers have synthetic processes to get tumbled and buttery feeling leather, which is usually used on a worse cheaper leather because it makes it easier to hide the original defects, the shoes are also less durable, this smooth or full grain leather gets buttery as you wear it like it used to be

Is it just me or does it seem like the red leather on the toe of the reverse bred is longer than on the new beginnings? Like, more bulbous than the new beginnings. They have a very Ronald McDonald vibe. I like the white and red version a lot more, maybe it’s just me though.
Watch the chicagos and breds will come out soon and when they do people will probrably sell the new beginnings to get them. This style is so hyped for that classic reason but the chicagos will def be the most sought after with breds in second. Jordan brand is smart and knew we were so desperate to get the 85 style not matter too much of the colorway.

And if the number falls off the bag. You have no record. I've had to return shoes back to Nike because I have found factory flaws on the shoes. Nike has to step up on the quality

Not sure how you can say it's better leather when you have 2 flaws and it looks like crap. One of the reasons we like the "tumbled" or softer leather is because 1: it feels good on feet out of the box, and 2: it hides flaws, scuffs and scrapes. It doesn't need to be SBB quality but whether it's twice as thick or twice as good quality the fact is it looks like the clearance rack Jordan 1 mid material. I have several pairs of Bred and Royal 1's I wear regularly and they look amazing despite popular belief it is second tier leather. To each their own but if tumbled means cheap, I guess I like the "cheap" look. Thanks for the video man, you're a legend.
Well, In hand it’s leather is as thick as the original. It’s one of those that will need time to break in. As for the other panels it does seem inconsistent. Soft/tumbled out the box is more preferred by others because they want to wear it immediately. It’s cool. I appreciate the brand trying in this instance trying to bring back OG type shape and materials. It’s different than the norm everyone is accustomed to.

If they were a true reverse Bred....the swoosh...ankle strap and heel would all be black with red covering the mid foot part of the upper, under the swoosh.This shoe is a half reverse bred at best. Jordan Brand got y'all! They threw the Bred name on it so they could charge more. 💯
Definitely have some questionable quality on mine as well. On one of my pairs where the swoosh meets the heel panel, some of the black leather is showing because the seem of the swoosh wasn’t stitched close to the panel. I’m just happy I got the W...

Dope video bro I’m glad I subbed, my personal imo Nike pulled a fast one with this shoe. I truly believe this shoe was supposed to be a mass release but Nike trying to corner and capitalize on the market in February especially with ASW being in Chicago this year. With a flooded release schedule there’s no way they could’ve produced enough of these including all other shoes releasing between this week up to the end of February. Nike I believe froze the production of this shoe and instead of continuing the product they limited them and added numbered dust bags to make them “Numbered”. I’ve been into shoes since ‘96 and have never seen Nike number a shoe but only add the number to the accessories that comes with the shoe. That’s what I personally think happen with this shoe being limited to 23k pairs.

No way. I have 4 pairs of 94s and the 94 is in a class of it's own. The leather on 94s is premium compared to the originals.

ANT DA BOSS those were soft/tumbled leathers out the box. As noted in this video, you’re gonna need to wear these to soften up and break in the leather.
