MJ is exactly two weeks older than me. Our mothers were pregnant with us at the same time. So, I feel a connection with him. These are a grail for me. I had to have them.
Correction: MJ rocked those not only in the All-Star Game but he wore them every home game throughout the 1998 postseason and he wore the Breds on the road. The Playoff 13’s are my favorite 13’s off all time. Thankfully I doubled up 😊😊, another great video as always bro! ✊🏾👍🏾
I'm a og at 52 and was fortunate enough to cop every original pair of Jordan's from the 1's to the 14's except for the 2's which I finally copped back in December. So glad to have copped these 13's. So glad Nike and Jordan brand have been doing their best to get these Jay's as true to the original og colorways as possible. Brings back alot of great memories. Awesome video and review!😁👍
Nike and JB have been getting better every year at doing these remastered retros justice. Especially last year with the fire red 3s. Looking at these and seeing the way the white cement 3s are turning out, it’s only getting better 🔥🔥🔥

great vid brodie! can't believe they waited this long to release a playoff retro but I'm not complaining these look fantastic next to the OG, can't wait for mine to come in
$212.80 is the same purchasing power that $160 had in 2011. I know, it seems steep, but it is in line with inflation etc... But man do I LOVE THESE SNEAKERS! So glad I was able to cop for retail from undefeated. I remember watching MJ play in these back in 8th grade so it was a no brainer, plus they look sexy good.

For me,the 13 is my all time favorite Air Jordan. It doesn't matter on all 3 of these pairs,I'll take either one. I hope they never stop retroing all color ways of the 13! I'm up to 7 different colors of this classic Air Jordan.
Yeah I believe you. If anyone went over the details of these pairs with a fine tooth comb it’s you. Appreciate the video. A++ The $160 in 2011 is equal to $212.80 today according to google
I picked mine up today from Finishline with early access. I’m not even planning on wearing them anytime soon. I just felt like I had to have them as a lifelong Michael Jordan fan.
The neon yellow circle on the bottoms is just a shame. The dark yellow of the OGs is supposed to fit the circle on the tongue. The only thing I really hate about Jordan Brand making original colorways is that they always do something different, may it be colors or shapes.
Great timing! Mine just came in today 🙌 just opened the box and saw the notification about your video. I'll enjoy it as I get my first in-hand impression of these 😁
Marvin I agree with you about school thing... Me and my homie cut school in 8th grade to try get these but took an L. Copped in 2011 but I truly believe this was the sneaker that pushed Jordans to release on Saturdays. I also have that SLAM mag
Really nice review. How do they compare in terms of feeling? How is the padding inside, which one feels better? I am sure the OG has a different forefoot zoom air shape (much wider) that they don't use anymore.
ohh the memories….I was gifted a pair of these on my birthday. Big bro and dad woke me up with that silver box in-hand. Years later and I can’t wait to grab another pair. I vividly remember the leather quality on these, being on point.
Loved the review bro. Just subscribed to your channel. I’ve never been a huge fan of the 13s but this is my absolute favorite color way and I couldn’t wait to cop a pair. Your collection and knowledge of Jordan’s is extremely impressive and I look forward to more great content. Much love 🫡
2016-17 i worked at footlocker & was surprised when i saw some retros go for $220 (230+ after tax) n they would sit hard. 210 now is just dumb and another reason i stopped buying them retail fr.
They did a really good job with these, but the shape is still a little on the skinny side compared to the ogs. I'm a fan of the beefy slope shape, so that's always my gripe on the retros except the for the Jordan 1/11.
Given the rate of inflation, $160 in 2011 would be approximately $212 in 2023 (today). Nice comparisons! Love this shoe and happy that its not "hyped" so its much easier to get!
About the price, of course it is much more expensive compared to before. $50 more is a lot I think. But it makes sense with the price increase. Right now, everything is expensive unfortunately. I paid 160€ or 170€ in 2011, and today 210€. Wow

If I’m not mistaken didnt the 2000 Fire Red 5s come in that silver box as well. And the Black Metallic 5s came in the Face Box right. Correct me if I’m wrong I’m learning all of this stuff 😊😊😊
So my story with this shoe goes back to when I was graduating from high school. I did get a new pair of Air Jordan 13's as a graduation gift from my parents. The Playoff scheme showcased here wasn't available at the time in my size so I got the Breds instead. Wonderful shoe in its own right. In 2011 when Jordan re-released the 13 Playoffs I gave it my best shot to get a pair as they were the Jordan I missed out when I graduated. Succeeded and have them to this day in mostly wearable condition. When I found out the 13 Playoffs were releasing again I got a pair on Saturday from the SNKRS app and they're arriving tomorrow. The Air Jordan 13 was the 1st pair I ever got growing up and are 1 of my favorite models as a whole in my collection. I've owned the Black Toe, Breds and Playoffs. They are such an awesome shoe. Well, there's my thought and until next time I am out!
JUST A BUT OF INFO. THE SHOE IS INSPIRED BY REFERENCE MIKE AS BLACK CAT. (PANTHER). The print on leather mimicking panther coat. The HOLOGRAM IS THE EYE AS WELL AS THE SOLE AND THE SOLE IS THE PAW PRINT OF PANTHER HENCE THE SHINY COAT IT MAKES SENSE
In 98 I had an accident on my dirt bike with these on. I was put in a helicopter and all I remember was when I got out of the hospital. I looked at my shoes and realized how messed up they were like. Damn I know I shouldn’t be wearing them riding anyway but I wanted to look good riding so this was a must cop
Colors, materials & the way these are made change because they’re so far apart from one another! Manufacturers change, materials change or they can’t get the same materials as they did 8-25yrs earlier! Plus some of the machines that make certain things or cut leather a certain way, break down over years of use. Same with the tooling that cuts or shapes something a certain way. They break down over time & machines get changed out & the tooling goes with them! That’s why there’s little differences, especially from a shoe made in 98 to one made in 2023. ✌🏻
Not to mention the companies that they sourced their materials from are long gone. And even the processes, techniques they use, and even the paints have been regulated.
But the negatives made the jordan what it was because it wasn’t always prestige like these new school jordans , I use to love the imperfections on the jumpman and on the shoe overall, it just showed me that timing wasn’t a factor for them because on alot of the retros they basically corrected all of their mistakes especially with the jordan 11 , you yourself pointed out a different in the inside stitching , it was the flaws that separates the og from the retros even til this day
It’s fine if those little imperfections separate the OG from the retro. I don’t want them to make a 1:1 just as long as it’s just as close as possible. I’m even ok if they make the retro better than what the original was if that means cleaner lines or shape or better materials and craftsmanship.
Do the 2011 shoes crease easily on the toe since they’re hard leather? Also I don’t know about the 1997 shoes and the 2011 shoes do the 1997 shoes have elastic bands between the tongue inside the shoes and do the 2011 shoes have elastic bands between the tongue inside those shoes too?
No elastic bands on any of the versions. They are all free standing tongues. The better leather of the three is the OG. Once it breaks in, it will become soft and crease naturally. The 2011 and 2013 have a synthetic version of leather. I'd say the 2023 over the 2011 though since Jordan Brand has been getting better with quality as opposed to the mid 2000s through mid 2010 versions of Air Jordans.
You’re thinking about the 2015 retro. The difference between that pair and the PE pair MJ wore was the difference between uppers. MJ’s PE was mesh and the 2015 retro was leather. Jordan Brand definitely needs to drop the PE.
I Can appreciate these they look like good basketball shoes for on the court but for casual wear no not for me. I'm glad i don't like 13s otherwise I'll spend too much
I get the difference u pointed out between og and 2023 with the yellow jumpman and the different gray on the sole but couldn’t that just be because of aging?
I don’t think the grey color on the soles are due to age. It’s literally a different shade. If that’s the case, the reds would have shown fading as well. All the shoes are DS

No elastic bands on any of the versions. They are all free standing tongues. The better leather of the three is the OG. Once it breaks in, it will become soft and crease naturally. The 2011 and 2013 have a synthetic version of leather.
