Triumph 21 is great as well! Bouncy, comfortable and versatile. I only highlighted new shoes here but should've included that as a deal pick. Thanks for mentioning - will pin for others to see
I bought the Puma Mag Max based on one of your earlier videos. They are great! I really enjoyed the ASICS Novablast 4/3/2 versions but for now the Pumas are my new daily mileage grinders - so good on this older runner.
Totally agree about the Novablast 4. I'm a lighter runner, and it gives cushion and protection without the weight of Hurricane 24 or the More v5, especially runs of 2+ hours.
@@coffeemuncher01 it is very comfortable for long slow runs, but you should know that it’s a bit more aggressive than the 1080v13, so think of that shoe with a bit more speed
Thanks man! I was realy looking for a marathon shoe, non plated. I've tested the MagMax, it's great, but only till 15-20 mile.. I oredered the Superblast 2, I think I'll go for that one, for the Berlin Marathon.
I have Superblast 2, I can't get a proper lockdown with this shoe. I don't understand why Novablast 4 fits me so well but Superblast 1 and 2 never did. I tried Puma Magmax yesterday and I felt it was superior in every aspect; size, fit, midsole, rocker, comfort. It didn't really feel that much heavier. I am returning my superblast 2 to get Puma magmax.
I've got almost 500 miles across a couple pairs of novablast 4s. I got a pair of magmax today and honestly it's faster. Yeah it heavier but I am too. Ran in the rain too, noticably better traction. Price is really the only factor. If they were the same it would win hands down.
I’m going to put some respect on the Topo Specter 2 for this role. I know it’s billed as more of an uptempo workout shoe, but there’s plenty of midsole, the ride is so smooth, and the comfort is so top notch. It’s what I want to reach for when doing 2+ hours and don’t need a plate. For me, it fills the role of where most people might put the Superblast, but with a different ride experience.
Very nice post! Where are the hurricanes. They are great for long runs but perhaps better for slow recovery runs. Is this why you skip them? New balance 880 I found also great. For me 860 did not work because they push me lateral. The set up is also in the back in an angel.
Shoutout to the Ghost Max 2 bonus shoe. Got a pair of discounted Glycerin 21s but still got my eye on GM2 bc of the 6mm drop vs 10mm drop and aesthetic - I fear they’re way too similar of a shoe tho
A comprehensive review. I'm a bit surprised you didn't include the NB More V5. Was that by design or oversight? Curious as that's in the running as my next long run and recovery shoe given the far superior price point compared to the Balos. Oh...and congrats on the 20k subs in advance as the other commentor shouted out.
How would you compare the 860 to the Tempus, particularly for long runs? I know the 860 technically has a plate, but just wondering about the general ride character / best use case.
I've been loving the ON Cloudmonster Hyper for my easy runs of 12-23 miles (I have over 100miles on my pair now). Only issue is that I love how they feel but I have problems with the upper causing blisters because it's quite a wide forefoot and I have a narrow foot. I wondered if you had any thoughts of shoes that have a similar feel/ride as it seems to really work for my running gait.
Also amazing to hear you think the NB4 would be a great 4hr or just finish marathon shoe since I'm gonna use it for Berlin in 2wks time for my first marathon!
Hoping everyone keeps buying the Mag Max so ASICS will finally get a fire under their ass to increase SB2 inventory. Surely, losing those sales to PUMA would encourage that…maybe?…Hopefully?
Yes definitely ghost max 2. It's more supportive for being on your feet all day and it won't get too squishy underfoot. Some bigger runners find the 1080v13 to bottom out on longer runs. I personally only like it up to 90 minutes
My favorite shoe so far (from my very limited collection) is Superblast 1. I’m having a mild flu and instead of stopping my runs I decided to run super slow at 8 mins/km. Took me 80 minutes to complete a 10 km but that shoe is just so chill even at very relaxed pace. By the way, do you have some insider info as to when that freaking superblast 2 will arrive in Running Warehouse? I preordered it using your link last month and as of yesterday there’s still no update as to when it will arrive. They just mentioned last time that it will be shipping “in September” and we’re almost halfway through the month. Thanks
I just took the Novablast 3 out for the first time in quite awhile and I was surprised at how good it was. The Superblast didn't really work for me because, at 130 lbs., it's hard for me to compress the foam. Although the geometry of the Novablast is almost identical, the slightly more compliant foam makes it roll along so smoothly.
did you wait for the superblast to break in? i’m also 130 and it took around 50 miles to break them in before i was really compressing the foam and they didn’t feel clunky or slappy anymore. just fyi
@@kuriosites that’s odd lol. trust me i’m probably even lighter than 130 at times and they didn’t take that long to start feeling a lot different than when i first put them on. you definitely have to be running a more uptempo pace for them to feel good though
All my running warehouse links are in the description! I do also have a discount code for Supwell App members that takes 10% to 20% off apparel, fuel and discounted shoes
I have wondered the same thing. I know many YT influencers have a RW code that they suggest they can't put out in a video. But you can email them privately and they can give it to you then. I have done this for 10% off before. I was under the impression that the channel gets credit for this and they want you to do it.
I normally agree with you on not buying upper updates.. however with the Tempus I feel it was much needed. Obviously still better to buy the 1 since it's half price atm. But the upper is far from accommodating.
What about Triumph 21? I'm looking for a shoe to rotate with my Novablast 4.

#BangGang in the house! I’m here for it everyday 💯
MagMax is definitely my favorite shoe since i got into running last year. it actually feels smooth when picking up the pace during easy runs. love it.

This man’s aerobic base is unmatched
Casually saying “5:30-6:30/mile pace” 🤯. I thought my headphones were malfunctioning
😮 OMG, I see no mention of the Hurricane 24, another awesome MAX CUSH MAFIA MEMBER!
I love the hurricane as a daily trainer and walking shoe! Mag max is my pick for longer runs but hurricane definitely for everyday use

I love my nova blast 4s. But their traction is horrible. Last race I was sliding all over the place. The Boston 12a have been my go to
Just got the Boston 12s on discount and couldn’t be happier. Got about 25 miles on them, def go to shoe rn
Question re Tempus: how dramatic is the arch support? Too much arch has given me blisters in the past. Thanks 😊

Lol agreed man... their strategy with the superblast inventory is so wack
Would you recommend the ghost max 2 over the 1080v13 for walking/standing in mainly with some light runs (as a heavier runner)?
Yes definitely ghost max 2. It's more supportive for being on your feet all day and it won't get too squishy underfoot. Some bigger runners find the 1080v13 to bottom out on longer runs. I personally only like it up to 90 minutes
How would the triumph 20/21 rank against this list
This is just what I needed, as my Novablasts are coming to the end of their life.
What in the world is up with the lack of color options for the Balos? So odd and is holding me back from buying a pair
