- I can't believe I have never installed this on a Shmeemobile before!? I'm back in the US and reunited with my Ford Mustang Dark Horse, where we're going straight to Ceramic Pro San Diego, an Elite Dealer, to fit Ultimate IR 70 window tint. There are some big things ahead, let's go!
It's crazy to think that my 7th gen Ford Mustang already has 6,500 miles from the incredible tour around the United States immediately after collection from Pat Milliken Ford Detroit back in October. That all got started with a visit to Ceramic Pro Chicago to install the Ultimate Armor Package featuring KAVACA paint protection film and Ceramic Pro ION coating, but now it's time to continue.
Having stored the Dark Horse with my friends HyperNFT and @KARNAGE-TV for the last couple of months, it's good to go on the button for the ride ahead, which firstly needs my very unfortunately assigned number plate/tag to be put on the back. We're immediately venturing down to the @CeramicPROUSA San Diego Elite Dealer where there's an awesome line-up, and we can go through the motions of this process.
Despite owning 54 cars to date, I have somehow never once installed window tint on a car, but given the Dark Horse will spend significant time in Florida plus other warm states like California and Arizona, it's a no brainer to fit the Ultimate IR product that offers immense performance to reduce the temperature within the car and ultimately protect the surfaces within.

Lol Tim never installed tint on any of his vehicles and…for the first time…he goes with essentially clear tint 😂

just a thought Tim... if you have a USB charger plugged in, sometimes they'll kick off a frequency that will interfere with the tpms signal here in the US and after 20 minutes of the system not receiving the info from the sensor it'll throw a code... try unplugging it if you have one and see if the fault goes away... if it does you'll have your answer

It's a Florida tag. The rules are way different down here.
Living in AZ, tint is a must, but so hard to see at night with dark tint. I love what that tint can do. Great to see you back.

Been using ceramic tint on all my cars in Florida for some years now - dark or light IT WORKS!!!!! Adds resale value too - I can attest to that.

Awesome Shmee! I know exactly where that is. Welcome to my neck of the woods. What you passed was the US Marine Core Air Station Miramar and that was the fighter plane museum. Before the US Marines took it over, it was run by the US Navy and was home of the best of the best fighter pilots the US had to offer. It was more commonly known as Top Gun and was the inspiration for the first Top Gun movie with Tom Cruise. Even now, every year they host the Miramar Air Show which gives you an up close and personal look at some of the most advanced military air craft in the world capped off with an amazing air demonstration by the amazing Blue Angels. You will definitely have to come down and see the show yourself. The next show will be in September of 2024.
Also worth it to check out UTC Mall down the street. Among other things they have an awesome Lego Store and driving down to downtown La Jolla and by La Jolla shores is a great drive indeed.
Now I need to take my car to Ceramic Pro for some ppf.

There’s an maclaren mso x in winter park Florida that I see from time to time, also the orange LFA Nurburgring edition and 2022 countach that are usually together at Monterey. Definitely a few of the more special cars that I’ve seen around since I’ve been living here.
Cars look so much better with dark tint. Here in Australia its common practice to go 20% (or push the legal limits with 5%). Better sun protection and improved looks

I’ve also owned mid-50’s quantity cars, and have had tint applied to only a couple of them.

8:52 that used to be a aircraft Museum, that was free for the general public. It closed a couple of years ago due to a lack of funding.
Good tinters make it look so easy. Tried to tint a window in my house and it did not go as easy as it looks.
The fighter jets are there because the Naval Fighter Weapons School a.k.a. Top Gun was based out of the Naval Air Station Miramar in San Diego for many years.
That 296 GTS is beautiful in that spec.

Just looked on the UK Autotrader for a new manual V8, the Aston Martin Vantage manual stopped production in 2021 and the last manual Mustangs stopped in 2023, so no brand new V8 manuals in the UK.
Nice upgrade specifically for hot weather we should use that for summer days are they cheap

Curious, but if the UV blocking tint is clear why wouldn’t you do the windshield as well? How is that not legal if it isn’t truly tinted and maintains the legal level of clear visibility? Is it not actually a “clear” film, per se?

FCA rules on TPMS is it's signal can not interfere with any other signal. So any signal near it will make it drop out.

@shmee150 - I know you’re probably a fan (obviously) of the rims, but would you consider changing the rims? I think you could give this car an even more aggressive look. I am a fan of making a mustang super aggressive because of the noise it makes. Just a thought, don’t kill me 😂

The entertainment system crashing is a common thing with almost all ford/chrysler vehicles. We have constant issues with them all the time at work. Randomly locking up or rebooting for seemingly no reason.
That plate though🤣🤣🤣
