Thanks Wes! What a nice surprise after a very busy and stressful week. I gather from the previous video that you have a pretty long queue of materials to review. It took 15 months for Chysogon's Coterie to go from first draft to first printing, so we're a patient bunch at BGRPG. Don't rush it.

    Cool stuff.
I did a big, multi-video tour of my shelves last year. I blathered on about almost everything, which is why it took so long. But it was fun looking at stuff, and it got me to pull a few things off the shelf to read.
Ultraviolet Grasslands is one of the newest acquisitions on my shelf, that if I never did anything with after reading, I'd just be happy to have it on the shelf. Though I have already done a short solo scenario using it.

Jeff Ashworth "The game master's book of Random Encounters". More are following. Most excellent books to me, all I need additionally is a set of poly dice and I'm good to go on the fly.

@@DMTalesTTRPG Today I received the "Astonishing Random Tables", "Legendary Dragons" and "Traps, Puzzles and Dungeons". Each of them come with a hardcover, at least 230+ pages, A4 format, with at least 3 additional one-shots. So I have probably enough maps, riddles and other ttrpg material to last me the rest of my life.

This was really fun! Thanks for doing this even though you were tired and could have easily taken a week off. I honestly could have watched a much longer version of this. I love watching videos of folks talking about their books, whether RPGs or comics or just regular fiction or non-fiction books.
Books I'm really glad I have are my Advanced D&D books, especially the ones my mom gave me as gifts over the years, as they really do always remind me of her even though she's been gone over 11 years now. All of my D&D and TTRPG stuff, really, gives me a lot of joy to have, like my original Moldvay Basic Boxed Set (my first D&D Product ever; you've seen me show it on my channel) and the original D&D white box my mom got me as a gift in the late 90's.
I like my comics (floppies are in boxes but I have trades and graphic novels on the shelves) are always fun to look at and remember when/where I was when I got them and read them.
I still have "my family's'" giant dictionary that I grew up with and that my mom said I could have when I moved out of the house.
One shelf has an antique typewriter that still has a brittle and yellowed piece of paper in it that someone was typing on. My wife got it for me at an antique store while we were still dating more than 20 years ago and I like to look at it when I need inspiration while writing.
My daughter, for Father's Day last year, framed a bunch of photos that she printed off her phone and/or that she looked up on my wife's laptop, and those are scattered around my office on various shelves, which are nice to look at when I need a pick-me-up.
Just... you know, lots of stuff that makes me happy to have around.
Thanks again for another great video. Cheers!

Awesome! I love that the books remind you of your mom, such a great tribute, and I’m sorry you lost her way too young.
That typewriter sounds amazing, and I WISH I still had my B/X boxes!

Hi there! Bookshelves really are the heart of the home. Sorry to hear about your mother. I'm glad you've shared some of your personal history and connection also on your 7:28 channel. It's courageous and brings a further human element to your work as does Wes's genuine cheer to this channel.
I'm very happy I get to share bookshelf space with my wife. Some shared interests like rpg's, books on religions as well as scifi and fantasy. And Legos! Among the books that are more to just my taste are ones on psychology, philosophy and politics but I admit nowadays my rpg collection has the pride of place 😁

If your wife said get rid of everything but one book/system, what would you choose? Right now I would probably say Dragonbane but second is shadowdark or EZD6.
My guilty collection is my complete robotech RPG collection for Palladium I’ve had since 1992.
I also have my box of TSR marvel superheroes

@@DMTalesTTRPG Well. I had a cool DM way back in the 80's that made us all stay in-character. Left RPG's for a long time and then returned to them in 2007-ish and everyone was playing D&D 3 and 3.5 and playing it like an advanced version of Melee/Wizard (Steve Jacksons Fantasy Trip boardgame) So I played like that from 2007-2022. Abe, from Talking about Games channel got me into one of his games and I started figuring out how to GM for that style. Shonner also helped a lot with his book, but it took a year for me to get the GM part down correctly.
