I have to say this film was instrumental in me getting a 991.1 C4S and I couldn't be happier. I LOVE this film and it's always a pleasure to watch it again and again. The grin doing donuts at the end is priceless!
Abso...fn...lutely. My girl got a 992 Cab this year and its fun. Big torque hit down low and its definitely fast but I feel a little turbo lag which I personally don't care for. I'm clearly biased but I like revving the 991 out and it never fails to make me smile particularly with the sport exhaust. This car is plenty fast but if you like the turbo hit I don't know what to tell you. Two very different experiences. Definitely go test drive one and see what you like. For me, naturally aspirated all day but to each his own. Enjoy my friend!
@@hugohugo2832I find myself in the same position - I love the mechanical race car feel of the 996 turbo and that hit of torque on boost is amazing - not sure if a 991.1 4s would feel a bit ‘weak’ compared to the 996 turbo. The 991.1 I think is one of the best looking 911s - I think the 4s 991 is a better looking car than the 991 turbo which seems a bit over-blown to me at least
Best video for 911 4S!!! I watch it every day 'cause it gives me the grips I'm gonna be getting when I will be driving my own which I'm waiting to be delivered!! Thank you Henry!!
Excellent, informative review but the effort and editing that has gone into filming/making this video is absolutely extraordinary!!! Definitely the best TH-cam car channel.
Excellent! I have a 997 Carrera 4S and have had discussion with "purists" who take pride in being able to drive C2's in snow. This is one of a very few videos that helps you see and understand that the addition of all wheel drive does not take anything away from the joy of driving a 911.In many ways 4wd only gives you MORE confidence to push it even harder and faster through the corners and wet/snowy conditions. Thank you! this video took me on a journey and I wanna go for a drive now!
I’ve watched this video over 20x when I was in the market for my dream car (911 C4S ) and now that own the same model year... I’ve watched this video 20 mores times but now I get to look out the window at my 911 C4S with a gratifying grind on my face....
I absolutely love the sound this car makes, i've always fancied a porsche after driving a friends 89 Carrera 4 a few years ago, a car so solid and connected I couldn't believe it was a child of the 80s, great video review
Honestly very smooth video. The 4S looks like it was made for those conditions, and that exhaust note is superb. Like Henry's comments but he has to speak a bit louder. Over all it will be added to my list of favorites. Nice Job guys.
I think the car changes the amount of power sent to the front and rear wheels. This means it retains the good handling characteristics of a rwd eg lack of understeer and then can call on the benefits of 4wd as needed. From my understanding it is like the difference between a subaru (full time 4wd, locked torque split between front and rear) and a skyline gtr (changes torque split as needed).
Yes, agree totally! Very cinematic conception of the review: amazing camera angles, beautiful time-lapse fotos of weather, light, etc., dramatic music. Can't say I understand everything that driver says (what kind of accent has he got? Midlands?), but the visuals make up for those 1970's mutton chops!! lmao.....
Better video than never reviews. The 991.1 has been my favorite 911 since i first saw it in 2014 when i was 5 years old. At the time when i saw it, i liked the way it looked. Of course i switched favorite cars but came back to the 991.1
I think it's a bit precarious to link the better steering feel to the 2 extra drive shafts up front. I'd like to see how the feedback of the new GT3 compares to that of the C4S.
@sherman3211 actually the only car that beats a porsche from 0-60mph is the veyron, and it was by one millisecond. one is one and a half mill the other 160,000. and the turbo s was built for straight line peformance. but you are right gt2s and 3 are for track
Excellent review again from Henry. Sincerely informative and entertaining. Thank you for that. Looking forward to see more like these in the near future.
Have you ever driven a dual clutch like the pdk or dsg? Besides being faster at shifting then manual they are very fun to drive. If you have driven them and still like the manual better then that's great but don't judge until you've tried it out.
Amazing review in an amazing location for an amazing car. Love the work, please give us more videos in this style. Presenter was soothing and informative, music was perfect and cinematography was stunning. Well done Evo!
Great film Henry, reading the mag is great, but then seeing the video brings it all to life! Now I just need to work out where to find the extra cash needed to upgrade my 996 C4S to one of these! Any ideas anyone?
Nice video. Some of the cinematography of the landscape reminds me of top gear. Thanks for allowing some of the engine note to come through by not blaring music the whole time.
Great video Harry! Interesting comments about 4S vs 2S... surprising to me, but very interesting in light of the electric steering. I was driving a 997 4S in Finland at Camp 4 last year and did not like it as much as my 2S. But I'll have to give the 991 4S a try.
Look at all the hate in the internet. It is in every videos comment section. Makes me sick. This is a lovely video about the most beautiful car ever conceived, in my OPINION. If you don't like Porsches, then don't bother watching the video, much less leaving hate speech all over TH-cam. Children watch these videos as well.
It will do 0-60 in 3.6/7 Because tests have shown that the Carrera(Manual) does it in 4.4.(Can't remember who did it) The Carrera S(PDK Cabriolet) did a 3.8s to 60.(Motortrend) So the 4S should do it in 3.5/6/7
Not sure where you are, but here in Canada a Porsche Turbo costs $156,900. So you're about $50,000 off. On the other hand, a GTR starts at $103,980, which is considerably less. But then, if you factor in re-sale values, a Porsche Turbo will fetch considerably higher than a GTR, so it all balances out.
Couldn't understand the road, sounded like "knockout-strasse" but found what may be it: the Hochalpenstrasse, in the Grossglockner area. Type in "Grossglockner high alpine road" and you should find the same website I did. Chime in; I want to know the right road too.
I wonder if they'll ever make a Porsche for rallying again. It would be interesting to see what they could do with a bare chassis, a turbocharged 1.6 litre boxer engine and AWD.
A great car with a improved review, from Henry Catchpole, compared to all the previous (congratulations). I can't wait to see the review of the 911 Turbo!
Apparently the engine is not accessible on the new 911 models! So you cant take it to your local mechanics to change the carburettors or the distrubutor!
I am 36 years old, my dad is 65 and he has this car. In fact he got it this week. I do not have a Porsche however I do have a s2000. Cars are everything Some day I will have a 911, I DRIVE
That's on good weather conditions and in theory it's 100% to the rear. The moment it detects the slightest spin, torque is diverted up to 54% to the front almost in real time.
I always find myself coming back to this video over the years since I purchased my 2014 C4S. I often dream about driving that mountain pass even though I live in the States. Is this the Grossglockner High Alpine Road or the Silvrettastrasse High Alpine Road?
na na na dude, I can understand the vw link with the older designs but see one of the contemporary ones in person OMG! They have such a presence especially towards the rear hunch, it looks like muscles! and the car sits so low. Sorry I am rambling a bit but seriously a 911 is a beautiful car in real life.
I tested the PDK box a while back (Carrera 2S). I remember during the test drive, my left foot was looking for something to do and was fast falling asleep. A sports car is meant to excite you, not bore you half to death. So in my opinion, the PDK box on a car like this is stupid.
I have to say this film was instrumental in me getting a 991.1 C4S and I couldn't be happier. I LOVE this film and it's always a pleasure to watch it again and again. The grin doing donuts at the end is priceless!
Still happy? I’m thinking of chopping my 996 turbo for one. V similar numbers

Still one of the best videos on youtube. So well done. I often come back to it.
I was going to post the exact same thing. I can't believe that it's been 7 years, holy shit.
I still do too
Best video for 911 4S!!! I watch it every day 'cause it gives me the grips I'm gonna be getting when I will be driving my own which I'm waiting to be delivered!! Thank you Henry!!
This is my dream car no matter how much money I've got!
I have to say, that blue looks amazing!
What blue is It? Lapis?
@@41sdspizzas Aqua Blue. This replaced Cobalt Blue. Aqua then got replaced by Sapphire Blue.
Excellent, informative review but the effort and editing that has gone into filming/making this video is absolutely extraordinary!!! Definitely the best TH-cam car channel.
The editing of evo videos is the best in the business the music the cutscenes and the atmosphere , each video seems like a movie
Excellent! I have a 997 Carrera 4S and have had discussion with "purists" who take pride in being able to drive C2's in snow. Lovely video, guys. Glorious scenery, iconic car, and a great commentary & test from Henry! Superb!
This was spectacular in many ways. From content to video & sound quality. Everything came out just perfect..
that colour is gorgeous
I absolutely love the sound this car makes, i've always fancied a porsche after driving a friends 89 Carrera 4 a few years ago, a car so solid and connected I couldn't believe it was a child of the 80s, great video review
That is some of the best camera work I have ever had the pleasure of watching... Brilliant review

Easily the best EVO video in recent history. Henry, here in Canada, we clean snow from the taillights prior to driving in the winter. :-)

It must have been heartbreaking having to give that car back,!!
Just stunning. Great review.
The last 20 sec. Are the bests!!!
991-what an amazing car. And this video...just beautiful. Very nice work. Kudos to the camerawork.
Better video than never reviews. The 991.1 has been my favorite 911 since i first saw it in 2014 when i was 5 years old. At the time when i saw it, i liked the way it looked. Of course i switched favorite cars but came back to the 991.1
Superb job EVO! This is one of the best reviews ever!!!
On topic, greaaaat review, watch like a couple a day, this one was the best in a couple of days!
Credz to Henry for sure.
Just flawless. Perfect scenery for the perfect sportscar. I noticed it wore 19" wheels, probably fitted with winter tires? Mine got 20" standard.
Great review, nice to see you drive it hard in the snow and it did well.
That smile of the driver while doing circles in the snow!
The first thing I think if when I hear awd porshe is the early to mid ninety 911 turbo from the original need for speed. What a beautiful car.
I think it's a bit precarious to link the better steering feel to the 2 extra drive shafts up front. I'd like to see how the feedback of the new GT3 compares to that of the C4S.
Probably the best car review I've ever seen.
Great video. Best Exhaust note I've heard on a Porsche.
@sherman3211 actually the only car that beats a porsche from 0-60mph is the veyron, and it was by one millisecond. one is one and a half mill the other 160,000. and the turbo s was built for straight line peformance. but you are right gt2s and 3 are for track
Great job, Henry. What kind of tyres were on the car?
Great camera work, very well put together.
Excellent review again from Henry. Sincerely informative and entertaining. Thank you for that. Looking forward to see more like these in the near future.

In 2021 this car still looks fantastic. As does the filming
I love these videos, Henry's a natural at this stuff.
This 4WD Cisitalia is Type 360, prototype was finished later than 356/001 (1948) even later than hand-built Gmund 356 (1948-1950)!
Nockalmstrasse rocks! Thanks for the episode, really liked it!
Took delivery of my 2013 C4S two weeks ago what a fantastic car. Great video too. Well done. Can’t wait for our first snowfall in south Florida. 😂
Amazing review in an amazing location for an amazing car. Love the work, please give us more videos in this style. Presenter was soothing and informative, music was perfect and cinematography was stunning. Well done Evo!

@Eric Glueckert I agree normally the first ever 7 speed manual has to be the most important issue

If you don't like Porsches, then don't bother watching the video, much less leaving hate speech all over TH-cam. Children watch these videos as well.
I really like the exhausts and the overrun.
You can never get tired of that wonderful noise!
In my opinion, evo make the best car movies on the internet. You guys should be proud.
Thank you Evo for making this video slightly different from your magazine article. Good reason to watch and read.
It will do 0-60 in 3.6/7
Because tests have shown that the Carrera(Manual) does it in 4.4.(Can't remember who did it)
The Carrera S(PDK Cabriolet) did a 3.8s to 60.(Motortrend)

Wonderful video. Love that road and the way you slide the Porsche around. Can you tell us what steering wheel is on that C4S?
Well done Henry, yet another great video.
Lovely car. Porsche still tje best sports cars fantastic ans really easy to drive
best EVO video in ages.
Porsche does offer a manual for the 911. It's a 7-speed manual. Only the turbo and the new GT3 have only PDK, 'cause it's a great transmission.
Nice vid Henry, you have very soothing commentary - makes for a nice watch.
What a wonderful episode. Well done!
AWESOME!! You are right, so I found 2 amazing roads I now have to drive... they are on my bucket list!
One of the best videos i have seen! congrats.
Great review. I like Henry's delivery a lot. More please!
EVO, you have honestly just made a 7:46 movie, thats how good this is.

Chime in; I want to know the right road too.
People asking where the road is... He says where it is in the video :/
Austria, Nockalmstraße
***** Because of his accent it is very hard to understand...
Awesome review. Would like to know how the electric steering felt with the awd?
Did this tester 991 include PDCC and SPASM? Have you tried the traditional manual?
Do you know what kind of snow tires were used for this video?
Hell Yeah Austria !! Perfect car and perfect road. Great Video Evo!
Nice place nice weather and great car for this weather (4s)...
I wonder if they'll ever make a Porsche for rallying again. It would be interesting to see what they could do with a bare chassis, a turbocharged 1.6 litre boxer engine and AWD.
Their videos are just soooo well done!!
I agree with you , its a sports car that can take on most supercars and even some hyper cars.

Apparently the engine is not accessible on the new 911 models! So you cant take it to your local mechanics to change the carburettors or the distrubutor!
@Henry, how would you rate the 991 C4S as someone’s first Porsche? Been an Aston owner since 2007…
I am 36 years old, my dad is 65 and he has this car. In fact he got it this week. I do not have a Porsche however I do have a s2000. Cars are everything Some day I will have a 911, I DRIVE

I'll buy one now .. thanks for the review
I will be looking forward for the 991 Turbo and Turbo S
Superb video, breathtakingly awesome sceneries and awesome car with a great reviewer.
the greatest review evr....

Excellent work Henry (and the whole crew). Great review of yet another great car. We are so spoilt for choice at the moment.
Totally loved it!!! Thanks Evo for making such a beautiful video and review.
Brilliant beginning
I customised an r34 on gt5 and it does perfect donuts on tarmac.
Great video, great sound, great road. Good job!
Good review, I like this guy. Makes me want a 4S! My only problem with it is the rear wiper! Ditch it, it looks crap!
great opening, great review.
Great video again, welcome back
Beautiful review Henry!
Guys... awesome review! But crucially... where is that great street??
