Love it! I bought one just like it 8 days ago. Same color. Recaro seats, torsen differential. Very smooth, very fast. Just as smooth and controllable at 130 as it is at 60. 130 is the fastest that I have had it, but was running out of road, so I had to back off. Sounds even better with the restrictor plates out of the side exhaust. getting TracKey next week!

It should almost go unmentioned and be a "feature" that it doesn't have these "not for the track" gizmos.One should never expect these things in a factory built race car. The 2013 Boss will have a few new track gadgets. Look forward to your time behind the wheel in the upcoming video. Bet you had a ton of fun!!

Ok so watching this in Nov 2022 and my 2013 Boss 302 is holding it's value nicely, gets lots of thumbs up and predicting value will only climb. I have the "gotta have it green color" sticks out like a sore thumb and not seen one this color in the huge town of Houston. A very special unique car built by Ford racing at it's finest. Never be another like it for a long, long time.
i agree with you some what. a challenger srt8 with a 6 speed manual of course, is capable of beating a boss 302 mustang, provided with a driver who knows what they are doing. As far as the sound of a challenger, you're absolutely correct. the sound of a challenger is literally music to my ears. the comparison you have about the challenger and the harley davidson is spot on. the challenger isnt all about numbers. its appreciated on a different level.
i think you can ajust the steepness of the backsupport of your seat so you can have your feet close to the clutch while your armes are further away from the steering wheel although this does mean that you are in a more laying possition than a sitting position

@bottomlayer Worst case, the Boss 302 runs 50K with options and markup. The first 2012 Boss off the assembly line went for 5k over but the M3's 55k base price is for the 4dr without the 19" wheels, sticky rubber, widetrack, lowered suspension, DSC or ECD... all the things you need to keep up with the reg Mustang GT w/ Brembos/gears. That M3 runs 69K.
I heard that the mustang V6, GT and the BOSS have manual transmission issues and the govt. (NHTSA) is investigating and a recall is around the corner. The GT 500 does not have transmission issues cause it uses a different manual transmission (tremec 6 speed).

BTW, the car... of course you buy it if you can... a race car you can actually drive easily on the street, what else would you want? Take it to the drag strip and win, take it to the road course or solo event and win, all the time having fun and not using tons of fuel. I am in love with this car.
Very honest review of the Boss from both sides of the fence(male/female), but I don't think Emme really "gets'' what the Boss is all about. It is spartan and stripped of extras that come at a higher price. The Boss is not a luxury car like an M3 (and cheaper too). It is a purpose-built track car for the street. Need more actual testing in the video too. Perhaps that will follow. Overall, good!
Good review by both. As for the X barvin LS, its painted no Chrome...You forgot to mention it has 5 way adjustable dampers on shocks. To the guy who said the 03-04 COBRA had independent rear suspension and was faster, he coulndt be more wrong this suspension is setup better the the COBRA and is faster. This car handles better then the M3 which Motortrend proved and still can go to dragstrip.that's why Ford stayed with solid axel.
I think the Boss 302 is fantastic against the ZL1, even though of the 47hp, and the 733lb difference. The Boss 302 makes 416rwhp, and the supercharged ZL1 makes 463rwhp. Give the 302 a tune and a new brake kit, and it could match the ZL1 in power, and handling.
very nice review. the boss is such a great car! but (especially for everyday life) my 2012 GT suits me better since I was able to get stuff like backup camera, nice leather seats and so on. the power of the GT is more than enough for me :)

Now this is a really great car, I wish ford would make it more user comfortable like the lady was explaining, She nailed it. The steering cannot be pulled/adjusted near to the chest or further from the chest..something short people will have a problem with since is manual they have to keep shifting. U dont wanna drive like you are biting a steering. Another thing is the quality of the interior plus other things like back up cameras etc..Am sure if they add all this the price might be over 48k
@mir2fast4u In regards to price yes. In regards to performance not really that big of difference on track or 0-60. It is more of a drivers race. For almost half the price of an M3 and great collectibility of the Boss 302 in the future, its a great option for many. I am also a M3 fan but the Boss really offers up something at its price point that can not be ignored.

Actually, I have to disagree that not having nav or bluetooth is a bad thing...in a car like this, I would like to cut down on distractions and pay attention to my driving. all too often, people get hung up on gadgets, which is fine, except for a purpose-built car like this. You buy this car to drive- if you want nav, get a Tom Tom or something similar..just my 2 cents. I'd like to see a review of the optional Trac-Key sometime in the future.
These cars aren't exactly fuel sippers, but they aren't getting 10 miles to the gallon like they did in the 60's. Too bad it's news for you that muscle cars are more technology based now.

You do realize that you don't pay anything to maintain the m3 for the first 3 years, and have the option of extended 5yr 100k warranty that covers everything except the tires.

@criscros7 Well mustang in europe is also way more expensive. It is about 50k €. That is around 65k in US currency. And you are overpricing golf in Germany. Golf R with 271 HP and DSG gearbox is 31k € in Germany. That is about 40k $.
If your buying a Mustang and want a backup camera to come with it, you need to learn how to drive before you buy a Mustang. If you cant park, you sure as fuck dont deserve this peice of engineering beauty.

They have done it. On a road course the ZL-1 is slightly faster, but the boss wins on the strip. Boss also has 100 hp less
