With a higher horsepower V8, a simple and raw driving experience and improved handling, it might be one of the best of the S197 generation, especially in the classic School Bus Yellow color. Don't understand why people hate on him. He is a true car guy who likes all cars. He is not just a WRX fan but a car fan and there is no problem with him being excited about how a car performs. Most real cars guys would be having the same fun that he is with the car.

theo raptis LOL LOL I know when I was working in High School at a restoration shop that restored old english sports cars and was able to get to drive a Aston Martin, a Ferrari Daytona 12 cylinder, in the later 70's before they were really hot and were actually driven, and a Jaguar D. Type. I was hooting and holloring just like him. I became a SCCA driver and even though I was known for my coolness I still when driving something like the Testa Rossa or 458 I was able to drive hooted and hollered just like him.
So I'm excited too......LOL

theo raptis It is actually physical. To control a car, especially when you drive a stick and be able to feel and hear the engine and have the car do what you want. To work on it, to wash it even. It is like how women love shoes and pocket books. They will have dozens and not thing twice about it but then when you want to buy a pulley system to raise your horsepower they think this is silly. LOL
You can tell he loved every minute of reviewing that car lol and he should have its a 302 boss BABY!!!!!

I have to say....the stock exhaust on that is INSANE. I know a lot of it is because the window(s) are rolled down, but still...
Has anyone compared these seats with the BRZ?
The car actually has hidden side pipes on it but I didn't know that till after the review was filmed haha.
The seats in this are tighter than the BRZ and the BRZ seats are a tad more comfortable. But they're both some of the best seats out there.

The side exhausts really help transfer a lot of the sound into the cabin. The best part is that it's real, unlike some other cars these days. I hope other manufacturers take note how menacing a stock exhaust can be, not just because of the volume, but the exit location.

does to have hill assist. by that i mean when you let off the brake on a hill, it stops for about 5 seconds to give you time to get going. please respond. thank you.

This mustang is amazing idk if you guys had the chance to drive a 2013 2014 mustang but as a 6’1 guy the visibility is great the mirrors are kinda bad when you back up but it’s bad in a good way for some people makes it feel like it’s a more aggressive car, and it’s holy shit fast and I’ve only driven the gt imagine a boss version of the 2013 2014

DRIVER'S CAR ALERT! On that note, I think that was one of the best reviews ever. It really made me smile ear to ear either that V8 pumping bass through my headphones. I wish Europeans made more simple and good to drive cars like the Boss or any of the latest muscle cars.

At 12:42 "It's just so fun, it's fun." That's it. That's it right there. My test drive for my Boss was very short. I was laughing like a kid at Christmas the whole time, I knew it was the one for me. Now it's in my driveway, and I drive it every day. Best car I've ever owned. Great review, as always.
How reliable has it been ? Have you driven an s550 to compare to ? I am torn between a 2015+ mustang and a boss 302

Instead of getting a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost, why dont you get a 2013 GT? Seems more fun and correct me if im wrong, the 2013 should be cheaper or around same price?
A 2013 GT would be around the same price but gas and insurance would be a lot more. I still love the 2013 models though.
I think its because he likes giving new information on a car not everyone will own yet. It will most likely help his channel and there are already other reviewers with 2013 stangs aka thatdudeinblue etc.

This is one of the best boss 302 videos I've seen matt really explained what the boss is about, fun! I have the same one he's driving school bus yellow with trackey, torsen differential and race seats and I completely understand what he's saying about not being the most powerful but it's not the slowest either, ford got it right with this steed.
Brilliant review and very informative but maybe you could've gone more into detail about the ambient lighting, track apps, and Microsoft sync. Th 2.5in display does a lot more than just tell you your fuel consumption. You can record your 0-60, 0-100, quarter mile, and half mile times. And your 100-0 braking times. And it even gives you a checkered flag plus countdown lights. And the ambient lighting lets you control the colors of the footwells, cup holders, door sills, and more with 8 different colors. It also tells you the voltage, air fuel ratio, oil temp, and about 50 other things lol

+subaruwrxfan I don't have a terminator, but I do have a 520 HP 2003 Mach 1 w/ Procharger you can review if you're ever near St. Louis. I'll warn you now though, stay away from the back roads in it lol. This thing is only good at straight lines. I'm serious though, I'd let you review it. It smokes stock termis. :)

Well done Ford, when I first laid eyes on the 2013 Boss 302 I was transported back to my 14-year-old self-hanging with my Dad at Watkins Glen in 1970 watching Parnelli Jones crush the Trans Am competition on his way to handing Ford the Trans Am championship in a 1970 Boss 302 Mustang. It truly amazing to me that Ford can still capture the magic 43 years later.
No one really needs 700+ HP. The BOSS 302 is --by far-- the most fun and enjoyment of any car I've owned, hands down. Great job, Matt!

I think they will end up making a Boss for the new generation though it won't be during the first year of production or the second just like this boss he reviewed was not available when the production of its generation started

If I were you I would just try an get a 2013-14 5.0 rather than a new Ecoboost, you can find one for cheaper but I do understand insurance and gas mileage play a part in your decision, but at my local dealer they are selling brand new 14s with track pack for 25.5K... It has a lot more power than the new ecoboost but to each his own. I hope you actually read my comment too, no hate just a legitimate suggestion but it is very understandable if you end up going with the ecoboost just wanted to see your opinion when weighing out the two options

I like Matt's reviews. He focuses on his own experiance and feel while driving which is great. One thing that is worth mentionning on the Boss 302 of that generation is the special exhaust system. This car has 2 tips in the back like a regular GT but it has one additional exhaust tip on each side under the doors whish gives it a unique sound.

Am I the only one that tired of Mustangs? Don't get me wrong they are great sports cars but I am sooooooo bored of them. Everywhere I turn there is about 1 million of them in about 1 million different trims and styles. I've seen many reviews of the brand new redesigned Mustang and it looks great but I am already bored by them. The Mustang is the go to car for most people that want a sports car, I just don't see it as anything spacial anymore.

Matt the steering has three settings comfort, standard, and sport and the shocks are adjustable as well, there are five settings and they are set at two from the factory they are nice in that you can set up the car for comfort on the street and tight and firm for the track. Not sure where they were set at on your test drive. These are very special Mustangs and they are a blast to drive, nice review !

Matt the car comes with a quad exhaust system with the GT type mufflers out back and side pipes in front of the rear tires, they have baffle plates in them but they can be easily removed and it sounds like that is the case with this car giving it a great sound. With the track key you would get amore aggressive throttle response and deceleration and a cool rumbly idle and also launch control. This car had a lot of development work done on the race track with Ford racing and Team Mustang, Roush Racing, and Multimatic Motorsports. At around 40K to 45K it is a great performance buy !!

me and my friend worked for 2 summers saving up for 11th grade to buy our dream cars i ended up buy a modded brz with 356hp from a close friend of mine, and he ended up buy a 455hp boss 302 same one as the video but with a little exterior mods to it, man oh man i did not realize how special that car was till i got to drive it.

Great review. I have the same Boss 302, same year, same color, except mine has the TracKey FLASH (Ignition key with Red Medallion activated by software purchased from Ford Performance and paired electronically with the PCM), and I also removed the side exhaust factory-installed restrictor plates. What a difference two mods make. Review a Boss with the TracKey FLASH, and then show us your comparable reaction to the sequence beginning at 7:18 in this video. It's better than you can imagine.

I agree, but! The interior isn't what they want the 302 to be remembered for. They want the performance to be the hook. If you want a nice interior which is fine, look for something else that can make your list..

Serenespeed GM themselves said they made the Zl1 to be a better in everyway option to the boss 302 with more power, handling, and daily drivability. the 1Le is a competitor to the mustang GT track pack (hints their similar pricing.)
clovis myers Ahhh… got it. So the 60k 580hp is to compete with the 45k 444hp car. Makes sense. Too bad the more similarly priced (but cheaper) 1Le already beats it on track. Crazy GM. Almost all comparisons (except for MotorTrend, because Ford wouldn't lend them the Boss) do comparisons between the 1Le and the Boss.

that's not a bad idea either, just bought a '14 GT premium that stickered @ 36500 sold a tad bellow invoice+3k in rebate I was able to get it for just under 30(work at a ford dealer so I got D plan but most customers get the same deal, sometimes even cheaper especially ona model year on the way out) however another "popular" youtuber has a coyote..although his videos are more entertainment and focus far less on the technical aspect of things so I'd personally love for wrxfan to get a 5.0. BUT if he gets a '15 ecoboost I believe that would benefit his channel a lot more. Most anticipated Mustang ever, completely new and unique engine, IRS, etc etc would generate a broader viewership plus the EB is getting killer reviews as far as the balance and driving dynamics is has. Similar to the BRZ except it won't get out ran by mini vans!
