I've always wanted to try a Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Batch Proof. Brown-Forman won't release one so I tried blending my own. The results were a little surprising. #bourbon #whiskey #whiskeytube
I still haven't tried that woodford double oaked yet. Always end up getting 1910(my favorite sipper). Heard they are pretty close. Maybe next trip to the store I'll pick up a small bottle to try.
I’d say a 50/50 blend of these is a bit heavy. If I can make a suggestion. I’ll bring the proof down but it should help and if you want to keep it up I have another option. Get a Woodford rye use 10 % to 30 % DO and 60 % of the batch proof. If you want to keep some of the proof use OF rye 100 in the same ratio. You can adjust it but I would recommend this for a try. I’ve been experimenting with blending for awhile and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I use budget bourbon but higher proof and various ryes and bourbons and some better bottles when they are about spent. Great idea you can learn a lot about blending and your palate by doing this. Good luck.

Definitely worth trying. Very similar to 1910 but I usually get a little more red fruit on the Woodford. But both are excellent!
Cool idea my friend.

Love this idea! Will definitely give it a try.
If I went out and got both of these, it would be a $260 blend 😂
Yea...it's not worth that. 😆
Much better blends for a lot less. Fun experiment though 👍
