Cheers! A few people had asked recently so thought I better indulge. Growth in the collection will slow a bit now to just very interesting bottles until I’ve got through some of the more generic items.
Very entertaining Tom. Took me a while to get around to watching given I think I requested it. definitely some good ideas I hadn’t considered. Certainly agree on redbreast
Great collection with lots of variation which is really good. On the Irish front Teeling is definitely worth a try, the Single Grain especially!! All the best.
Nice collection! Would love to see you try some of Old Forester's higher-shelf expressions. The 1910 and 1920 are both well worth your time. Some folks even blend them together into 'Old Forester 1915'. Jealous of your Campbeltowns! Cheers from the US!
Cheers! I have an Old Forester 1897 and Old Forester Statesman coming to the channel at the end of the year, but the 1910, 1920 and the "1915" have been on my want list for a good while, I just need to refrain from buying too many bottles before others have been depleted. But they will come! Cheers!
Nice overview. Genuinely interested in the Jim Beam Single barrel, I almost got one during the Amazon prime day sale but decided against it. You should keep an eye out for the JD Triple Mash on special offer. That’s a really interesting blend from them.
I have tried it! And I agree with you it is an excellent pour - I need to get a bottle for the shelf really, I get a bit over-exposed to it as it's produced in the area of Scotland I frequently visit so all their shops and bars have it all the time, but it is one I think more people need to know about. I think their branding is so strong many traditional enthusiasts may see it as something more commercialised but yes, I rate it! Cheers!
This far south of the border it’s unfortunately not as readily available, Waitrose do stock it I’ve recently discovered other than that it’s very much an online purchase.
What don't you like about Penderyn 😆!? I usually have a Sherrywood or Madeira on the go... Admittedly I'd drink more beer than whisky so perhaps I'm easily pleased!
I know many people who really really like it so it's absolutely a preference thing. I've only tried two of theirs I think and whilst they absolutely don't taste _bad_ I just find them lacking real depth so I get bored of it really quickly. I should give it another go soon just to validate my thoughts again tbf! Cheers!
Ah the Campbeltown Malts Festival bottle from 2023 - that is my favourite of the Glen Scotia's I have at the moment. Loads of Campbeltown funk but the soft sweetness from the white port cask just elevates it again - makes it probably more accessible but without detracting from the core style. I compare all three of those Glen Scotia bottles in this video if you want to know more, cheers! th-cam.com/video/yP74HIzO2CY/w-d-xo.html
All empty! I just keep more recent / more interesting ones just in case I want to use them for filming / photography. Only bottles still in boxes were those on other shelves stored up-right. Cheers!
@@TheCrumbyBeard Grand. I keep the occasional empty tin/box too. I can't use the same justification as you though, so it's just clutter in my case. 😉 To be fair, I did do a bit of a purge not too long ago.
I don't dislike the flavour, and some of the Campbeltown bottles have a decent amount of peated character but heavily peated drams almost always give me chronic heart burn, which is really unfortunate. I can tell a good one from a bad one but difficult to give honest reviews when it discomfort! 😅
That's fair and thanks for the reply. Was just interested - always been quite into a Laphroaig but went to Islay for a few days last year and have fallen down a peat hole since then. Generally, I'm very jealous of your collection. Thanks for the great video
@@AlexH-b3o no worries! And thank you! I wish I could really get in to them as I know the Port Charlotte collective for instance is insanely good but I just can’t justify spending money on bottles I’d rarely want to touch 😅 Cheers! 🥃
You're not wrong there! I've been going by two different approaches. Big Occasion == Big Bottle, and a bad day calls for good whisky, since a good day is good regardless of the dram. But you're right, waiting is a bit silly!
Straight up...good stuff. You are doing well my friend. Don't worry about what others might say or think, you do you, and do it well! Cheers!
Cheers bud! Much appreciated!
Thanks for the whiskey update of your collection really enjoyed watching
Wish I had some of the bottles you have 🥃

Fabulous collection!!
Thank you!!

Cracking collection
Good collection my friend 👍, Cheers from Michigan USA 🇺🇲🥃
Thank you very much! And Cheers to you!

Haha! Glad you liked it! What's your whisky stash looking like at the moment? Anything I need to add to the collection?
Great Whiskey 🥃 Collection Tom 👍👍👍
Cheers matey!

I've had a few shouts for Teeling! Really must try it, thank you. Cheers!
Epic is right man fair play 👊🥃
Haha thank you - I was questioning myself when using that description but I'm pretty happy with it so far. Cheers!

I've heard good things about that Triple Mash! The JB-SB will feature soon for sure!
Would love to see you review Nc’nean organic, I’m not a scotch person bourbon is more my jam but I think it’s really nice.

What are your thoughts on that Glen Scotia 11 white port ?

@@colourlessbluethings haha. I’m guilty of having done so prior to having this excuse too 😂
are you not a fan of the peat then? was surprised not to see any Ardbeg, Kilchoman, Laphroaig, Port Charlotte etc...

Yeah, I've got a couple of great Port Charlotte's. Can't quite justify forking out for an Octamore yet but still! Have a great day
Are you still waiting for special occasions? They happen every morning when you open your eyes, drink that stuff or someone might drink it for you
