There were a lot of Zelda ROM hacks in 2024. Ultimate Trial, Time Lost and Sands of Time are the main ones, plus the two ROM hacking competitions by HylianModding which had over a dozen smaller hacks in between them.
This was also a great hack! I don't mind the crazy enemy jacking up, except for what they did to Phantom Ganon here. Let's just say, that's this game's low point while the same boss is made much better than vanilla in Sands of Time. This one's also got two endings, hmmm...
I feel like you're failing to mention the central gear in how all these qol adjustments were done, which is oot redux, the standalone project that actually made all these changes possible in the first place
Seems from where I'm sitting that most of the custom monsters are all from Majora's Mask. Hell a LOT of this game visually takes cues from Majora's Mask, to the point where - while I'm aware both games were built on the same engine - I found myself waiting for you to pause the game in the footage to see which game the pause screen more closely is related to
It’s funny how people forget the amount of time “hero shade” link had to ruminate. Even 30 minutes of depression or mental suffering can feel like an eternity… and the hero of time certainly had plenty of time to ruminate across all timelines really. Dude was the linchpin of shattering hyrules destiny 3 different ways wether he knew the outcome or not that is a heavy burden to carry
Hey Bane, I doubt you've heard of the Five Nights at F***boy's games but they recently released a demo for a new game that could be an interesting choice for fangame December. They're an absurdist parody of FNAF in the form of JRPGs. This newest one is called Q.E.D. and sees Toy Freddy take a journey through Ocarina of Time. I think it could be a good curveball review for you, and keep with the theme of OOT hacks you've done the past two days.
These videos are exactly what these romhacks deserve. They're new, and it's not apparent how BIG these games are compared to the romhacks we've been getting over the years. The modding scene for OOT is amazing and I can't wait to see what it will become.
The end boss alone was worth playing the entire game. It was okay to me, I think the original master of time was really good. Wish It had bosses, but time lost was still fun!
@@Eight.OfClubsI mean if you listen to the two side by side you can definitely see the resemblance. There’s something extremely familiar about that melody and if you know where it actually comes from do let us know. But tbh I think owl theme remix makes sense
Are you planning to cover any of the OoT Romhack Competition entries? That would kick ass. Also, some ALTTP romhacks / ALTTP-adjacent fangames like Gerudo Exile and Dungeons of Infinity would be sweet too.
Oh, so this has Beware the Forest Mushrooms among its tracks too just like Nimpize Adventure? I tried to look up the track on its own when I played Nimpize but couldn't find it, wonder if there is any difference between the two.
They’re legally unable to stop us now that we’ve reverse engineered the game. The only thing they can do is take down roms of the original game but there’s so many of them floating out there it doesn’t take more than 5 minutes of searching to find someone posting it elsewhere At some point Nintendo needs to just sit back and let the free glow up happen. It should also serve as a reminder that there’s still a huge interest in those games and people will go to great lengths to relive that era of Zelda history
heh. neat. I wonder if anyone's done a rom hack where you get a reverse of the kishin mask, something to turn Link into a child form so he can crawl through small holes, then go back to adult.
Will always find Zelda rom hacks fascinating

Does that include the Halloween ones?
HELLLL yeah! It's that time of year again! Thank you so much, Phantom Bane. Listening to your videos is an absolute joy! 😊

Nice!
Just hearing the Mario Sunshine statement gave me so much life!

This game explains why the hero shade is so depressed on why he never did shit with his life and didn't tell his kids how to fight

They're making a new one???
@@captainkawaii666 For the ten year anniversary, yeah.
Man. The line about Echoes of Wisdom needing to shut its ass up killed me. I was so annoyed by that games dialogue. Felt great to hear this

Thank you for shedding light on ocarina of time mods, we need more people like you.
Glad the Christmas marathon is going strong!
Out of all the Zelda RomHacks that you've played which one is you're favorite?
That Re Dead's yard in Rundertaker Mansion was the scariest thing in whole game
The end boss alone was worth playing the entire game. It was okay to me, I think the original master of time was really good. Wish It had bosses, but time lost was still fun!
2:45 The creator said they tried to input Rusty Bucket's theme, but it didn't sound great in this soundfont. 8:10 That was Sheik!
Could be impa too no? I didn’t zoom in but it def had purple limbs of the sheikah
Sheik has a fallen-down animation. Impa doesn't.
@@gamewizard2008 ohhhhhh welp, that certainly narrows it down! Good eye sir, I wonder if there’s a meaning behind sheik being the body in the masher
8:30 WHAT IS THIS THEME FROM?
It's a remix of the Owls theme from OOT . Sorry can't remember how to spell his name. 😂
@@Haku_Hatake no, it’s not?

its geno's forest maze from mario rpg but made using oot's soundfont
Is hyrule civilization, no one jumps for the steak.

I love this hack. I like the enemy variety and the dungeons.
It's gonna be a good weekend thank you
So which is your favorite full length zelda 64 rom hack so far?
Oh, so this has Beware the Forest Mushrooms among its tracks too just like Nimpize Adventure? I tried to look up the track on its own when I played Nimpize but couldn't find it, wonder if there is any difference between the two.
It is, the Nimpize Adventure version is in a different key, while the Time Lost version isn't.
another banger. that ganonjak is a thing of beauty
Really scared that Nintendo is against this stuff
