    Hahaha! This channel is so good! Really on point reviews. Didnt know it was possible to transver so much information in such a fun way in that short amount of time.
    Would love to see some longer videos though. Maybe a podcast or something like that, since the host seems like a pretty cool dude. Cheers!

    Cheers for the review Boris, bought a 2015 today for 10k from a BMW dealer. I feel like I got a lot of bike for the money

    Fuck it, just as he said its pointless for any more development after the S1000R, I feel the same way about this channel. Best motorcycle review channel on youtube, I'm done with everyone else. Great, thorough & specific reviews every single time.

      Looks like a great bike. I'm about to trade in my CBR 1000 RR for the S1000R 2016 - 17.
      Have you had any issues so far?
      Thank you

    Best review ever heard, like the honesty, I got me a 5 year old in that Blue satin only 6k miles on it. I was apprehensive even as I was going to collect, got there wheeled my aprillia out the back of my van and said a very fond fair well to it, wheeled my BM in and set off home.
    Next day still not sure I had made the right choice, leathered up fired her up and took to the road, it was if you believe you can fall in love with mechanical objects 🤔 love at first ride.
    I really purchased it on hearsay & purely loving the looks now I can’t keep myself off it, not ridden any other similar class by other manufactures, do I want to 🤔 NO this is the best I’m sure of it 🥰

      Hi im looking at an 2018 s1000r low kms. Any thoughts 3 years on was it clinically good that you got bored with it... or did it continue to impress with time? Cheers. Coming from ftr1200 bags of character but not 100% mid corner handling with its skinny rear tyre.

      @thestressedexec2466 my mate rides a tuono factory. My ftr1200 cant hang with it mid corner speed feels its pushing to hard for safe road riding. So thinking of swapping to a 2018 low km s1000r for better safer spirt riding- concerned it may lack so.e character the ftr definitely has that. Any thoughts? Speed triple 1200rs ??

    Very entertaining review. Definitely sold me even more on the bike. Can you just elaborate on what you meant by "plasma drive warp generator"? I didn't understand what you were referring to, unless it was defined by the proceeding sentence about the heat. Thanks.

    • @MichaelBrashier
      @MichaelBrashier 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rami Girgis he meant the engine produced some noticeable heat while sitting in traffic.

    • @eeshustylez
      @eeshustylez 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Michael Brashier that's what I figured. Well I can confirm this and everything else he said since I just purchased the bike in blue yesterday. Woohoooo!!

    • @MichaelBrashier
      @MichaelBrashier 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      NICE! How do you like it? I'm still on the fence about it. I almost bought a new R1200R but i feel like I should give the S1000R another look.

    • @eeshustylez
      @eeshustylez 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amazing. Top notch quality, very smooth, all the bells and whistles of electronic safety and features, and then the power...saying that it's a beast is an understatement. You can't go wrong with this bike. I feel like it's worth every penny. And I am still breaking it in and am limited to 8000 rpm, so I'm sure that it will get better with mileage as BMWs usually do.

      Hi,
      Did you make a switch from RR to R and if yes how do you compare the two? I am thinking about getting the S1000R. Thank you

  • @samgab
    @samgab 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, can we just clarify... did you like it or not? But seriously, of course, they didn't conclude motorcycle development back then in 2014, because the few tiny tweaks they made for the 2017-2018 model, which I own, are excellent. Slightly lighter, that quickshift pro up and down the box now... It's even better than before. But the key flavour and personality of the bike hasn't changed.

  • @Cantabinexile
    @Cantabinexile 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Maybe. But what does young Boris think about the Super Duke 1290 R? As that is as mad as a one legged man running with the bulls in Pamplona whilst pissed as a 70's policitan and wearing a blindfold.

    "Every bike is the best bike so please let me ride the next one"
    That is every motorcycle review. Now it's a given, most bikes today are good, but when have you ever seen a TH-cam reviewer say "this is overpriced and has too many electronic gizmos?" When did a reviewer say "7 of the 8 rider modes are useless?" Ash would have probably have given that GS a good review if it hadn't actually killed him.
    Not a hypocrite. I too would say glorious things about every bike I ride if i were actually paid to. I have no doubt the BMW is a stellar bike but I can't say a review would convince me. So, BMW, if you're listening; Hook me up with a s1000R and I'll give an honest comparison to my MTS1200. If you don't I'll just assume you have something to hide.

    • @vwr32jeep

      Here's my negatives... the seat has an incline in the back. I'm guessing it's to give taller riders a bit more distance from the pegs? Either way, I find that I'm constantly sliding towards the tank and having to reposition. Maybe I could put Velcro on the seat and my ass lol. There's an aftermarket seat that fixes this issue, but it's more of an annoyance than a priority right now. The mirrors are great if you like seeing your arms, but that's a fairly common issue on a lot of bikes. The exhaust sound is decent, but I find it a little on the buzzy side. Most ppl switch out the cans on their bikes anyway tho. The kickstand point could be a bit wider to prevent asphalt piercing on hot days.
      Finding flaws on this bike is really more an exercise in nitpicking. You have 160hp on a very agile bike with a wet weight of 456 lbs and loads of technology to help "dial in" whatever settings make the bike perfect to you. Does it matter if a rider never uses all the modes if dynamic mode is his only idea of perfection? Sometimes I think the non-BMW ppl get tired of hearing all the praise in these reviews. I even watched one review who said he'd never get one because it's "too perfect". Other bikes have characteristics unique to that brand which gives them character he said. I understand that point, but that seems a little "thought out". I was very tempted to get the Monster 1200s just for the exhaust note. But what matters most to me is what the ride itself is like, and I gotta say, damn.. the whole s1000r experience is just downright addictive.

    • @vwr32jeep
      @vwr32jeep 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's sort of the point, just like the mirrors. It's an issue that can be remedied in aftermarket, but one that comes stock despite all the other praiseworthy feats of German engineering that get talked about in the reviews. You wanted to hear the negatives, sorry it wasn't nEgATiVe eNoUgH to justify your dislike for the bike lol.

    • @Miata822
      @Miata822 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All, I am sure this is a fine bike and I don't mean to pick on Bikemetv. They just happened to be the one I was watching when I 'snapped.' Any time you click on a professional TH-cam review of any motorcycle you know in advance it will be positive.
      Sure. I understand why. Producers depend on a steady stream of sample bikes to generate the content that pays their bills. If they trash a bike the manufacturer might not give them access to the next one and they might not have a review to do. No review - no paycheck. I get that.
      But one day, just once, I hope to see a real review somewhere that doesn't try to put a sugar coating on a terrible bike: "New V-Strom 1000, a terrible disappointment" or "Moto Guzzi Stelvio, Is this supposed to be a joke?" or "Honda NM4, Someone should be fired." Damn that would be refreshing!

      Yes i concerned about that. I took one for a test ride gen 2. Brilliant tool very capable but wondered if it was too easy to ride and did everything too well. Ride it slow no problem- ride it fast it was very quick - a year on i still think of it and 95% thinking to swap my ftr1200 for a 2018 gen 2 model. I cant go tuono 1100 as thats what my mate rides. Speed triple 1200 rs or rr are the other short list bikes.
