I made one with a little more padding in the back. I hung one 1 1/2” spinner in the middle. I put a strong magnet in the bottom to collect the shot. I shoot in the garage in cold weather, hang it outside on warmer days. I’ve had it a while and they are simple and works great. Cheers from Chicago.

I was planning on being there this year, but a family situation came up. ECST is definitely in my future.

Your design will be very noisy. I’d prefer to use cardboard box with foam as the back catching material. A tin can lid would be the target, and only one would be needed.

Great job Andrew, are you seeing much bounce out from the spoons or does the ammo push on through to the backstop material ?

Not so much from the spoon as I hammered them fairly flat, but I am getting some from the rounded back of the bucket. I'm going to try to add something, perhaps a piece of foam, to the back of the bucket to help.

Hey axe man, you should take a hammer and smack the back of those spoons, so that your ammo doesn't come flying back at you.
    Just a suggestion. 😊

I ended up doing that after this picture. I still had a little bounce back, but it helped for sure. Thanks for the great advice.

Nice idea But? I’m not liking the ladle in the catch box. I’m afraid it would cause issue of bouncing out when you hit the cup of the ladle and cause problems. Maybe take that out and replace it with another spoon. Also maybe a bigger bucket. But all in all a great quick project for on the go

Yeah, the ladle does cause a few bounces, but I primarily use this Catchbox for shooting bbs, so it hasn't been a huge issue for me. It's a fun little target, though. The spoons do ok after I flattened them some with a hammer.
