Toyota Sienna 2016 problem fixed for lift gate not closed automatically

The lift gate won't close with remote or press button.
The automatic lift gate opens back up once it gets close to shut. Find that over time the lift gate seem to get uneven by observation when it starts to open the door tends to jerk at the beginning of opening. While it's opening loosen up the four bolts at top hinge then kind of push the lift gate to either left or right while tighten up the bolts. I suggest to push the side that has bigger gab. Mine is pushed to the right and it fixes the issue.

Awesome, thanks so much for making this video.. my 2014 sienna seems to need that done.. It closes but one side don’t sit well..

Sorry you probably had that issue fixed (it's been 8 months ago) I think the issue might need more than a person to help align the door while closing it with the bolts loosen then carefully and slowly lift up the door just enough room to tight the bolts up (hope it fixes it). Thanks
