OK, so how are these lift gates adjusted, and I do not mean the open part where you adjust high high, or program it for foot activation. What I mean is ; I have a lift gate that is closing up to an 1/8 of an inch on one side, and a 1/4 of an inch on the other side. Obviously it needs to close about an 1/8 of an inch "MORE" on that one side, "HOW" do we accomplish that?? Thank you appreciate the video, Oh and our highlander is a 2021 model. Raul PHX Metro area
Thank you for these accurate instructions, I followed them with success, but have one suggestion. I got stuck on removing the electronic connection, but finally figured out it on my own. Instead of pulling, it was more of a “lever” and by only pushing on the very end, it allowed the opposite side to lift and the 2 parts to release.
Have you ever heard of the back hatch door sensor not working (i.e. buttons/keybob not closing the door) after replacing the hinges and struts on a 2014 Toyota Rav4 Limited SUV?
These TRQ power liftgate struts look like the ideal middle ground between OEM ($350+ each) and those cheap, made in China struts that are like $100 each.
Toyota is so much better than Hyundai, where the power lift gate is is not easy to replace on our own. Dealer charges > 2000 for that simple replacement.

Awesome video by the way! I’ve learned everything I need to know to operate the task by myself.
Quick question, should I replace a pair or just one??
Thanks for this video -- my wife is now a happy camper. 🙂
Hi. How much should this cost if you get someone to do it for you?

Extremely good video, thank you so much for the great video! The process was almost the exact same for my 2015 RAV4.

Can you replace the lift without replacing with new hardware.
How do you remove the ball from the bracket
Should I do this when my struts chatter opening and closing?
