Dealership quoted me $1700. They said the cable would cost $700. Then of course the labor and whatever else. The parts cost me $100, yes, they are Toyota genuine parts! And I did it! The door works! Thanks for the tutorial.
Fixed my 2015 Sienna today. Video was to the point and got the job done quick. Thank you! As a side note for other DIY folks if you carefully pry the rear cable attachment shroud up you can squeeze a extention and 10mm socket under it with out breaking the plastic.
I can’t thank you enough. I really love When people show others how to do things I have a jeep that I take four wheeling and I’ve replaced about everything myself I was able to fix this for $39 and exactly the amount of time you said it works perfectly. The main thing is people shouldn’t be afraid to try that when they see a $1700 price tag they’re afraid to even try it fearing they will cause more damage. I can’t say thanks enough for your channel and what it does.
Great video, and just what I need to do on my 2008 Sienna. If you figure out the AC problem, please make a video. Mine stopped blowing cold, but still blows. Thank you!
A+ video! This helped me through the same repair today. The only difference I had is that my sliding door was stuck shut, so I had to use a small offset Philips screwdriver to get off the screw holding on the door trim, and cut the wires from the old assembly that were binded up inside the door before being able to open it. Thanks so much!
Such a helpful video, took me 45-1hr because of your video. Parts cost me 68cad and 40cad for window trim piece. By the looks of it I save a tonne of cash by doing it myself..thanks again!!
Great video, I fixed mine today in a little over an hour. The dealership quoted me over $700 and I probably would have had to leave my car there for several days which is, as we all know, super inconvenient. Keep up the helpful content. 👍🏻
Dealership charged my mom $1500 to fix her Passenger Rear sliding door when it stopped working completely. Good to known its relatively DIY. Been working on cars here and there so I can definitely tackle this issue if it happens in the future for the rear driver sliding door. Thanks!
This video saved my money ..and the video is about the toyota sienna axle barring I've watched twice. so now I'm learned something..and thanks for sharing brother 🙏
Your video was very helpful and to the point. Made my attempt pretty straightforward. Maybe include a part number for the section that was replaced. Thanks!
Thanks for the helpful video...As expected I snapped my Door Slide Rail Moulding (68374-08020) clips, I was too cheap and cut flat the back upper clip portion that cracked, added velcro. The front portion cracked as well, but I was able to just put velcro right on it. Worked perfect. My 2015 AC is starting to go to, I will probably try the TOYOTA SIENNA UAC - EX10477C - Control Valve Assembly after market replacement onto the compressor first. Thanks!
The 2 bolts that attach to the upper rear door slider rail brace are M6 X 1.0 X 25, part #90080-10252. Using a screwdriver to loosen and tighten these 2 bolts may be the best way to do so.
Man, lesson learned today. Don't take that white protector piece off of the spindle thing until the very end. Took it off right away, the coils unspooled, clearly didn't put it all back together right, darn thing blew itself up and broke all the plastics with the first use.
Thank you, just did my 2015 and video was really helpful. I didn’t have that black cover piece that you installed at the end of the video. What part number is that?
Thanks! Man my only complaint with my setup is that its the passenger door of my dad's wheelchair van so I will not have clean open access to the inside of the door lol. Thanks for the video!!
Good video, my 2011 right side door stopped opening, opened a few times after warming up but then stopped opening again giving me 2 beeps. Is that what happened when ur motor died? Cable doesn’t seem to be broken. Thanks.
My motor didn't die. But in the video I show where the motor is and how easy it would be to replace. i didn't experience the same issue you had.... when my cable snapped the door didn't open at all... it was super clear what the issue was... ha . but if you have to replace the motor - i thin my video should also help you ..
What year Sienna is this ? I watched another video where the guy completely removed the window. I’m not by any means an expert, but even I thought that to be an extremely unnecessary step. I’m needing to replace these cables on my 09 Sienna. And hope to make this repair as efficiently, and cost effective as possible.
Very good video, my 2013 drivers door needs to be fixed also, dealership quoted me 1500 bucks I said forget it, looking for someone to fix it, I would rather pay them the money, thank u very much for sharing this video.
4 months later but the 2004 - 2010 models are a PITA and Toyota redesigned them for the 2011+ models. Had I seen these stacks of videos I may have looked for 2012+ models only.
Hi there I have a 2004 Toyota sienna handicap ramp van, and the cable in the sliding door has snapped 3 times in 2 years and every time they fix it , it’s $1500.00 so now the door doesn’t open and the ramp can’t come down so I am stranded. my question to you is can we remove the cable which is connected with the ramp, and install a cable and motor in the door so it can open separately, please help thank you.
If it the sliding door cable - yes. See in the video exactly how to do it on either end. If it really broken just cut the cable. If it’s for the ramp - I don’t know. But I’d follow the cable and expose where’s it’s attached and see if you can unhook it …. Good luck

Glad to help and thank for the nice words !
Excellent video!! Replaced in 20 minutes with this! Wish all videos were this straightforward!! Great content!!
Just ordered the parts! Thanks in advance for the video!
Great video, and just what I need to do on my 2008 Sienna. If you figure out the AC problem, please make a video. Mine stopped blowing cold, but still blows. Thank you!
needed like $800 worth of work, compressor went. :(
Thank you so much for this. I was able to get the parts on Amazon from Toyota dealers and do this myself in about an hour!

Great to hear it worked for you, sounds like you did some extra troubleshooting!

@@kmc9066 WOW, they quoted me 1500 bucks, pretty lame.
@@kmc9066 that’s really cheap. Had customer that was quoted twenty two hundred dollars with parts at the local Toyota dealership.

Hey, you are awesome. I have this exact problem. I really appreciate that you linked the parts and the service bulletin. Top notch!

Do you a link for 2004 Sienna cable assembly for passenger side door?
You the man brother! Thank you!
Appreciate the support, glad to help!

Looks so much simpler than the 2004 - 2010 models!

Is it works for 2020 Toyota Sienna ?

Hi. Do you have the part number for this cable? I have the same problem with the same left door.
should be in description
Yes, I found it. Thanks a lot! Tomorrow I'm going to replace the cables.
Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
You bet!
Great, Great job….
Thank you 🙏🏼
You’re welcome 😊
Can I just cut it off?
Woman wanting to fix car but this is too hard. We need men. Men are important. Off to the dealership I go. What me.n can do......we can't always do.
Of course you can do that, if you want to!! Really not that hard, don't sell yourself short. :)
